    Relación entre estilos parentales, intensidad psicopatológica y tipo de sintomatología en una muestra clínica adolescente.

    An investigation was conducted to analyze the relationship between perceived parenting styles, presented intensity psychopathology and externalizing-internalizing dimensions in a clinical sample of adolescents aged 13 to 18. The results found indicate that the psychopathological intensity is associated with age, with older age and over intensity; and with female gender. Only two dimensions of perceived parenting style were found related to psychopathological intensity: psychological control negatively and humor positively. As opposed to other studies consulted, the psychological control dimension appeared linked to externalizing symptoms and not with internalizing.Se realizó una investigación con el objetivo de analizar la interacción entre los estilos parentales percibidos, la intensidad de la psicopatología presentada y las dimensiones sintomáticas internalizante-externalizante en una muestra clínica de adolescentes con edades comprendidas entre los 13 a los 18 años. Los resultados hallados indican que la intensidad psicopatológica está asociada con la edad, a mayor edad mayor intensidad, y con el género femenino. Solamente dos dimensiones del estilo parental percibido se hallaron relacionadas con la intensidad psicopatológica: el control psicológico de forma negativa y el humor, de forma positiva.     Transannular Approach to 2,3-Dihydropyrrolo[1,2‑b]isoquinolin- 5(1H)‑ones through Brønsted Acid-Catalyzed Amidohalogenation

    A transannular approach has been developed for the construction of pyrrolo[1,2-b]isoquinolinones starting from benzofused nine-membered enelactams. This process takes place in the presence of a halogenating agent and under Brønsted acid catalysis and proceeds via a transannular amidohalogenation, followed by elimination. The reaction has been found to be wide in scope, enabling the formation of a variety of tricyclic products in good overall yield, regardless of the substitution pattern in the initial lactam substrate. The reaction has also been applied to the total synthesis of a reported topoisomerase I inhibitor and to the formal synthesis of rosettacin.     El Departamento Energía Solar (DES) de la CNEA desarrolla, desde 2001, tecnología fotovoltaica para aplicaciones espaciales a través de contratos de asistencia tecnológica (CAT) con distintos organismos y empresas, como ser CONAE, INVAP, y Satellogic. En este marco, se lleva adelante un proyecto PDTS con el fin de desarrollar celdas solares para estas aplicaciones, siendo las mismas el principal componente de los paneles solares que generan la potencia eléctrica en los satélites artificiales. Se presentan en este artículo los avances realizados hasta el momento, así como las perspectivas del desarrollo de dispositivos en el corto y mediano plazo.The Solar Energy Department (DES) of the CNEA develops, from 2001, photovoltaic technology for space applications through technologic assistance contracts (CAT) with different actors, as the government agency CONAE, the state-owned company INVAP, and the private company Satellogic.     Role of neutrophils in CVB3 infection and viral myocarditis

    Coxsackievirus B3 (CVB3) is a globally prevalent enterovirus of the Picornaviridae family that is frequently associated with viral myocarditis (VM). Neutrophils, as first responders, may be key cells in determining viral disease outcomes; however, neutrophils have been poorly studied with respect to viral infection. Although neutrophils have been ascribed a relevant role in early cardiac inflammation, their precise role in CVB3 infection has not yet been evaluated. In this study, we aimed to determine if the interaction between human neutrophils and CVB3 could lead to viral replication and/or modulation of neutrophil survival and biological functions, and whether neutrophil depletion in a murine model has a beneficial or harmful effect on CVB3 infection. Our results show that CVB3 interacted with but did not replicate in human neutrophils. Neutrophils recognized CVB3 mainly through endosomal TLR-8, and infection triggered NFκB activation. Virus internalization resulted in increased cell survival, up-regulation of CD11b, enhanced adhesion to fibrinogen and fibronectin, and the secretion of IL-6, IL-1β, TNF-α, and IL-8. Supernatants from infected neutrophils exerted chemotactic activity partly mediated by IL-8. The infected neutrophils released myeloperoxidase and triggered neutrophil extracellular trap formation in the presence of TNF-α. In mice infected with CVB3, viral RNA was detected in neutrophils as well as in mononuclear cells. After neutrophil depletion, mice showed reduced VM reflected by a reduction in viral titers, cell exudates, and CCL-2 mRNA levels, as well as the abrogation of reactive cardiomyocyte hypertrophy.     Seascape genetics of the Atlantic Spotted Dolphin (Stenella frontalis) based on mitochondrial DNA

    The Atlantic spotted dolphin (Stenella frontalis) is endemic to tropical, subtropical, and warm temperate waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Throughout its distribution, both geographic distance and environmental variation may contribute to population structure of the species. In this study, we follow a seascape genetics approach to investigate population differentiation of Atlantic spotted dolphins based on a large worldwide dataset and the relationship with marine environmental variables. The results revealed that the Atlantic spotted dolphin exhibits population genetic structure across its distribution based on mitochondrial DNA control region (mtDNA-CR) data. Analyses based on the contemporary landscape suggested, at both the individual and population level, that the population genetic structure is consistent with the isolation-by-distance model. However, because geography and environmental matrices were correlated, and because in some, but not all analyses, we found a significant effect for the environment, we cannot rule out the addition contribution of environmental factors in structuring genetic variation. Future analyses based on nuclear data are needed to evaluate whether local processes, such as social structure and some level of philopatry within populations, may be contributing to the associations among genetic structure, geographic, and environmental distance.info:eu-repo/semantics/acceptedVersio

    Comprehensive cross-platform comparison of methods for non-invasive EGFR mutation testing : results of the RING observational trial.

    Abstract Several platforms for noninvasive EGFR testing are currently used in the clinical setting with sensitivities ranging from 30% to 100%. Prospective studies evaluating agreement and sources for discordant results remain lacking. Herein, seven methodologies including two next-generation sequencing (NGS)-based methods, three high-sensitivity PCR-based platforms, and two FDA-approved methods were compared using 72 plasma samples, from EGFR-mutant non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients progressing on a first-line tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI). NGS platforms as well as high-sensitivity PCR-based methodologies showed excellent agreement for EGFR-sensitizing mutations (K = 0.80-0.89) and substantial agreement for T790M testing (K = 0.77 and 0.68, respectively). Mutant allele frequencies (MAFs) obtained by different quantitative methods showed an excellent reproducibility (intraclass correlation coefficients 0.86-0.98). Among other technical factors, discordant calls mostly occurred at mutant allele frequencies (MAFs) ≤ 0.5%. Agreement significantly improved when discarding samples with MAF ≤ 0.5%. EGFR mutations were detected at significantly lower MAFs in patients with brain metastases, suggesting that these patients risk for a false-positive result. Our results support the use of liquid biopsies for noninvasive EGFR testing and highlight the need to systematically report MAFs.     Longitudinal relationship of liver injury with inflammation biomarkers in COVID-19 hospitalized patients using a joint modeling approach

    The mechanisms underlying liver disease in patients with COVID-19 are not entirely known. The aim is to investigate, by means of novel statistical techniques, the changes over time in the relationship between inflammation markers and liver damage markers in relation to survival in COVID-19. The study included 221 consecutive patients admitted to the hospital during the first COVID-19 wave in Spain. Generalized additive mixed models were used to investigate the influence of time and inflammation markers on liver damage markers in relation to survival. Joint modeling regression was used to evaluate the temporal correlations between inflammation markers (serum C-reactive protein [CRP], interleukin-6, plasma D-dimer, and blood lymphocyte count) and liver damage markers, after adjusting for age, sex, and therapy. The patients who died showed a significant elevation in serum aspartate transaminase (AST) and alkaline phosphatase levels over time. Conversely, a decrease in serum AST levels was observed in the survivors, who showed a negative correlation between inflammation markers and liver damage markers (CRP with serum AST, alanine transaminase [ALT], and gamma-glutamyl transferase [GGT]; and D-dimer with AST and ALT) after a week of hospitalization. Conversely, most correlations were positive in the patients who died, except lymphocyte count, which was negatively correlated with AST, GGT, and alkaline phosphatase. These correlations were attenuated with age. The patients who died during COVID-19 infection displayed a significant elevation of liver damage markers, which is correlated with inflammation markers over time.     La amplia nómina de autores que firman el presente artículo dan forma al equipo multidisciplinar que en 1995 inició un ambicioso proyecto, subvencionado por la Junta de Castilla y León, denominado «Trabajos de Documentación y Estudio del Arte Rupestre en el Karst de Ojo Guareña». El avance de sus primeros trabajos está recogido en el siguiente texto y fue presentado al Primer Congreso de Arqueología Burgalesa (1998), mas, al no haberse publicado éste, sigue aún inédito. Su interés, y de forma especial la continuidad de la investigación, aconseja a los autores su edición en Espacio, Tiempo y Forma con vistas a una mayor difusión del proyecto y, con ello, a un mejor conocimiento de la grafía rupestre de las galerías subterráneas del norte de la provincia de Burgos.The wide number of researchers who sign the present añide joined in the multi-discipline team that started an ambitious project, which was sponsored by the regional authority: Junta de Castilla y León, called «Records and Research on Cave Art at the karst in Ojo Guareña».
