On the Bishop-Phelps-Bollobás property for numeri9cal radius in C(K) spaces

[EN] We study the Bishop-Phelps-Bollobás property for numerical radius within the framework of C(K) spaces. We present several sufficient conditions on a compact space K ensuring that C(K) has the Bishop-Phelps-Bollobás property for numerical radius. In particular, we show that C(K) has such property whenever K is metrizable.Research supported by Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad and FEDER under project MTM2011-25377. A. Tourism and the SDGs: An Analysis of Economic Growth, Decent Employment, and Gender Equality in the European Union (2009-2018)

    Get PDF
In 2015, the United Nations (UN) approved the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development to improve the lives of countries and societies. The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) incorporated the agenda into the tourism industry. This study has as its primary objective an exploratory analysis of tourism activity in the EU-28 countries over the decade 2009-2018 and its adaptation to the Sustainable Development Goals through the lens of employment. This study focuses on the goals of decent employment and economic growth (O8) and gender equality (O5). The results obtained suggest that, in general, the eastern countries of the EU-28 show better values for Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) (8) and SDG (5) with respect to both employment and the wage gap. However, these countries have lower GDP-weighted remunerations, which can become an opportunity to obtain higher shares of tourism activity within the EU. It is concluded that there is a need to reinforce the awareness of the fabric of the tourism business and for public administrations to favor stable and decent employment and a reduction in the current gender wage gap

Ecology, ethnobotany and ethnopharmacology of Argan tree (Argania spinosa)

    Get PDF

Socioeconomic acceptance of aquaculture measured through structural equations modeling. Are there discrepancies between men and women in Spain?

    Get PDF
At present, aquaculture is still subject to social debate. This paper analyzes its social acceptance compared to traditional fishing, mainly by applying the structural equations methodology. This technique has been widely used in recent times in social sciences but is minor in this field. We propose a model in which we break down its acceptance in two dimensions: Product and company. We also try to see if there are differences in the perception of men and women. To this end, we have carried out 803 personal surveys in several Spanish coastal provinces. Among the results, we can highlight the good level of acceptance of its products, positively influencing their companies' perception. We can recommend the development of synergies between the different agents involved to improve their acceptance. By gender, general acceptance is higher in men than in women; however, we have not detected significant differences in both groups' perceptions when analyzed using structural equations. This publication and research have also been partially granted by INDESS (Research University Institute for Sustainable Social Development of the University of Cadiz) (Spain) and "Programa de Fomento e Impulso de la actividad de Investigación y Transferencia" (Program for the Promotion and Development of Research and Transfer activity) of the University of Cadiz (Spain)

A Bibliometric Analysis of Sports Tourism and Sustainability (2002-2019)

    Get PDF
Sports tourism is a relatively recent type of tourism, which has grown significantly in recent times. Not all effects of tourism are positive, so the analysis of its sustainability has particular relevance; especially since the publication of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015. The growing concern about tourism and sustainability makes it essential to examine how scientific research has adapted to new realities. This paper uses bibliometric techniques to investigate research trends related to sports tourism and sustainability. VOSviewer and SciMAT software were used. A total of 214 articles fromWeb of Science (WoS) indexed journals were analyzed. The results confirmed that interest in the study of these concepts has been growing, especially in the last four years. This is a comparatively new field of research (since 2002), so consolidated relations between thematic areas have yet to be observed, and there is a generally low concentration of authors and journals. Increases in several publications in this area are related to the celebration of mega sporting events or the publication of SDGs. The main contribution of this analysis lies in identifying important research issues, such as education and destination planning, which should continue to be addressed

Accessible Tourism: A Bibliometric Analysis from 2000 to 2021

    Get PDF
The term "Accessible Tourism" was first used in 1989. This term has the characteristic of being transversal. The aim of this work is to find out the current state of scientific production in this area of tourism in order to be able to answer future questions and identify new lines of research. To this end, we have carried out a bibliometric analysis covering the first two decades of this century. After defining the keywords, a search was carried out in Web of Science and the results were analysed quantitatively and qualitatively using VOSviewer. This analysis shows that from 2018 onwards, publications increased considerably, reaching a peak in 2020, mostly in the areas of geography and economics, as research in the area of tourism is still very recent. The number of authors is reduced to around twenty, with one of them standing out significantly in terms of number of publications and citations. The conceptual analysis shows the variety of terms used by researchers and how they have evolved over time, the most commonly used being "people" and "disability", with others appearing such as "inclusive tourism" connected to "management" or "sustainable tourism", which are more akin to current management

Direct analysis of volatile compounds during coffee and tea brewing with proton transfer reaction time of flight mass spectrometry

    Get PDF
This thesis work focuses on the development of simple, fast, sensitive and reliable methods based on PTR-TOF-MS for the analysis of the volatile organic compounds responsible for coffee and tea aroma, and how they are extracted from the beans or leaves into the liquid phase. The use of multivariate methods on the dynamic data obtained increased the applicability of the methods allowing differentiation of samples according to its composition (e.g. coffee capsules), country of origin (e.g. tea origins) or the parameters used for preparation (e.g. temperature, pressure, particle size)

Análisis de la percepción turística en la región Tánger-Tetuán (Marruecos)

The aim pursued in this paper is to analyze the tourism activity of the region Tangier-Tetouan in Morocco. In addition to the study of the main available variables statistics for the region, a fieldwork has been carried out in the framework of an extensive research project on sustainable tourism, called Ibn Battouta. The values of the region have been compared with the values of other nearby areas in the Strait of Gibraltar. As a result of the analysis performed, the tourist potential of the region has been confirmed, including the sun and beach tourism. The current global situation has raised a number of questions and queries about the tendency of this activity in Morocco.
