Phlorotannin Extracts from Fucales Characterized by HPLC-DAD-ESI-MSn: Approaches to Hyaluronidase Inhibitory Capacity and Antioxidant Properties

Purified phlorotannin extracts from four brown seaweeds (Cystoseira nodicaulis (Withering) M. Roberts, Cystoseira tamariscifolia (Hudson) Papenfuss, Cystoseira usneoides (Linnaeus) M. Roberts and Fucus spiralis Linnaeus), were characterized by HPLC-DAD-ESI-MSn . Fucophloroethol, fucodiphloroethol, fucotriphloroethol, 7-phloroeckol, phlorofucofuroeckol and bieckol/dieckol were identified. The antioxidant activity and the hyaluronidase (HAase) inhibitory capacity exhibited by the extracts were also assessed. A correlation between the extracts activity and their chemical composition was established. F. spiralis, the species presenting higher molecular weight phlorotannins, generally displayed the strongest lipid peroxidation inhibitory activity (IC50 = 2.32 mg/mL dry weight) and the strongest HAase inhibitory capacity (IC50 = 0.73 mg/mL dry weight). As for superoxide radical scavenging, C. nodicaulis was the most efficient species (IC50 = 0.93 mg/mL dry weight), followed by F. spiralis (IC50 = 1.30 mg/mL dry weight). These results show that purified phlorotannin extracts have potent capabilities for preventing and slowing down the skin aging process, which is mainly associated with free radical damage and with the reduction of hyaluronic acid concentration, characteristic of the process.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

A time-dependent density functional theory scheme for efficient calculations of dynamic (hyper)polarizabilities

We present an efficient perturbative method to obtain both static and dynamic polarizabilities and hyperpolarizabilities of complex electronic systems. This approach is based on the solution of a frequency dependent Sternheimer equation, within the formalism of time-dependent density functional theory, and allows the calculation of the response both in resonance and out of resonance. Furthermore, the excellent scaling with the number of atoms opens the way to the investigation of response properties of very large molecular systems. To demonstrate the capabilities of this method, we implemented it in a real-space (basis-set free) code, and applied it to benchmark molecules, namely CO, H2O, and paranitroaniline (PNA). Our results are in agreement with experimental and previous theoretical studies, and fully validate our approach.Comment: 9 pages, 4 figure

Hybrid visual servoing with hierarchical task composition for aerial manipulation

The proposed approach suitably combines into a unique hybrid-control framework the main benefits of both image-based and position-based control schemes. Moreover, the underactuation of the aerial vehicle has been explicitly taken into account in a general formulation, together with a dynamic smooth activation mechanism. Basis set effects on the hyperpolarizability of CHCl_3: Gaussian-type orbitals, numerical basis sets and real-space grids

Calculations of the hyperpolarizability are typically much more difficult to converge with basis set size than the linear polarizability. In order to understand these convergence issues and hence obtain accurate ab initio values, we compare calculations of the static hyperpolarizability of the gas-phase chloroform molecule (CHCl_3) using three different kinds of basis sets: Gaussian-type orbitals, numerical basis sets, and real-space grids. Although all of these methods can yield similar results, surprisingly large, diffuse basis sets are needed to achieve convergence to comparable values. These results are interpreted in terms of local polarizability and hyperpolarizability densities. We find that the hyperpolarizability is very sensitive to the molecular structure, and we also assess the significance of vibrational contributions and frequency dispersion

Rotación de personal y productividad de la empresa Torti Pieros E.I.R.L., 2019

La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo establecer la relación entre la rotación de personal y la productividad en los trabajadores de tienda de la empresa Torti Pieros, 2019. Siendo de método hipotético deductivo, enfoque cuantitativo, de diseño no experimental de corte transversal y nivel descriptivo correlacional. La muestra de estudio estuvo conformada por 84 trabajadores. Para la recolección de datos se empleó como técnica la encuesta a través de la elaboración de un cuestionario. Según los resultados obtenidos sobre los empleados el 42,86% percibe que existe rotación de personal en un nivel “Regular”, el 33,33% en un nivel “Malo” y el 23,81 en un nivel “Bueno”. Del mismo modo, el 52,38% indica que la productividad es “Buena”, el 45,24% la considera “Regular” y el 2,38% percibe que es “Mala”. Finalmente, se concluyó que existe relación significativa entre la rotación y la productividad en los trabajadores de la empresa Torti Pieros, 2019, según la correlación de Spearman de 0.590 representando este resultado como moderado positivo con una significancia menor a 0.001. Por lo consiguiente, se recomienda establecer una buena relación entre el área comercial y la gerencia general para ahondar esfuerzos en la mejora de la rotación de los trabajadores ya que repercute directamente en la productividad de las tiendas. Buscando mejorar la sensación que tiene el trabajador sobre el entorno laboral, el reconocimiento que recibe y la satisfacción que siente al trabajar en la empresa, así como buscar alternativas que ayuden a un mejoramiento en cuanto a su rendimiento laboral

El trabajo en grupo y el reto: una ruta exitosa para la motivación intrínseca

Anexos trabajo de gradoResumen Este escrito pretende primeramente resaltar la importancia de potenciar y fortalecer la motivación intrínseca en los estudiantes para obtener un aprendizaje significativo en inglés que salga un poco de los métodos tradicionales que aparte de ser aburridos, monótonos y repetitivos, casi siempre tienen como recompensa una calificación numérica. Sabemos que tradicionalmente, los estudiantes son medidos con números, es de esta manera que se determina si está o no preparado para ir al siguiente nivel, si bien los números son importantes, este trabajo se enfoca en despertar en los estudiantes el deseo de aprender movidos por la necesidad de ganar y de competir, es decir, el reto. Sí bien el maestro también debe estar motivado para contagiar a sus estudiantes y conectarlos con determinado tema o actividad, no se trata simplemente de arengarlos para que mágicamente sientan la misma emoción que nosotros, es más que eso, se trata de una investigación reflexiva, analítica y crítica que dé cuenta que tipo de población tenemos abarcando aspectos tales como intereses, personalidades, tipos de aprendizaje, etc. Así pues, y basado en dicha investigación, se construye una secuencia didáctica, en la cual se organizan y describen coherentemente una serie de actividades que se desarrollarán en momentos específicos con orientación docente. Finalmente, se implementan las actividades las cuales tienen un balance positivo en cuanto a lo que se pretende alcanzar. Como en toda práctica, no todo es perfecto ya que se detectan fallas, sin embargo, se debe resaltar que los estudiantes encuentran en la posibilidad de ganar un motivo para organizarse, arreglar diferencias, superar obstáculos y sobre todo ver el inglés como algo divertido e interesante que implícitamente arroja un aprendizaje significativo.This writing intends firstly to highlight the importance of developing and strengthening the intrinsic motivation in students to obtain a meaningful learning in English that goes a bit away from the traditional methods that, apart from being boring, monotonous and repetitive, almost always have a numerical grade as a reward. We know traditionally, students are measured with numbers, it is in this way that it is determined whether or not they are prepared to go to the next level, although numbers are important, this work focuses on awakening in students the desire to learn moved by the need to win and compete, that is, the challenge. Although the teacher must also be motivated to infect his students and engage them with a certain topic or activity, it is not simply a matter of rousing them so that they magically feel the same emotion as us, it is more than that, it is a reflexive investigation, analytical and critical that finds out what type of population we have, including aspects such as interests, personalities, learning styles, etc. Thus, and based on this research, a didactic sequence is built, in which a series of activities that will be developed at specific moments with teacher guidance are coherently organized and described. Finally, the activities are implemented which have a positive balance in terms of what is intended to be achieved. As in any practice, not everything is perfect since failures are detected, however, it has to be highlighted that students find in the possibility of winning a reason to organize, settle differences, overcome obstacles and most of all see English as something fun and interesting that implicitly brings meaningful learning
