    Get PDF
The aims of this study were to analyze the autonomic stress response of nurse degree students during a hospital clinical simulation and to analyze differences in the autonomic stress response of nurse degree students during a hospital clinical simulation depending on their psychological profile. We analyzed in 45 nurse students their psychological profile (purpose in life, coping flexibility, perceived stress, Framingham Type A Behavior, and personality) and the autonomic modulation by the heart rate variability in a hospital clinical simulation. Students presented decreased heart rate variability and different autonomic stress responses depending on the different psychological parameters evaluated. We concluded that a hospital clinical simulation produced a large sympathetic modulation of nurse students that was maintained during the entire clinical simulation. The autonomic response was modulated by the psychological profile of students, showing higher purpose in life, perceived stress, and neuroticism, presenting higher parasympathetic modulation

Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) and Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH) are two different pathologies that can have a very similar presentation (headache and loss of visión). The differential diagnosis of both is essential due to their different management and prognosis. We present the case of a young woman with a 2-year history of headache, visual loss and buzzing in the head. In the fundus of both eyes, typical findings of RP (bone spicules in the middle retina and arteriolar thinning) and IIH (bilateral papilledema) stand out, although the latter is also described in cases of RP. After a complete study in Ophthalmology and Neurology, the diagnosis of both pathologies is reached, with symptomatic and visual improvement after starting treatment to reduce intracranial pressure. The coincidence of both entities is extremely infrequent in the same patient, a high index of suspicion is required due to their clinical similarities and a multidisciplinary collaboration for their diagnosis

Most cyanide-containing industrial effluents also contain other cyano-derivatives and high amounts of metals and metal-cyanide compounds. Rural tourism destinations are increasing in popularity due to the travel experiences they offer that are different from other types of tourism. Nevertheless, these destinations can improve their competitiveness and when creating effective marketing strategies determining the image that is perceived of these destinations is useful. User-generated content (UGC) has become a source of information that allows us to know the destination image of a territory and influences the visiting behavior of potential tourists. The objective of this work focuses on analyzing the tourism image projected by the Tajo-Salor-Almonte region (Cáceres, Spain) for the development of tourism marketing strategies in the territory based on the elements most valued by tourists, discovering the differentiating elements of the destination. An evaluation of this rural tourism destination is carried out through the analysis of the headings of Tripadvisor comments on hotels, restaurants, and tourism attractions. This provides a better understanding of attitudes and behavior of tourists towards this emerging destination. A quantitative-qualitative content analysis is used to extract useful information on the topics most frequently mentioned by tourists in this destination. The results show that destination managers and entrepreneurs should focus their marketing communications around three key items: tranquility and relaxation, the gastronomic offer and the rural environment and its history. Analysis based on UGC is useful for business and destination managers, as it allows them to create strategies for tourism destinations and establishments by adapting them to the tastes and preferences of tourists. In the case of rural tourism destinations, UGC can help them to be more visible on different platforms and attract new flows of tourists

Changes in the Microbial Composition of the Rhizosphere of Hop Plants Affected by Verticillium Wilt Caused by Verticillium nonalfalfae

This article belongs to the Special Issue Plant Root Interaction with Associated Microbiomes[EN] Verticillium wilt is a devastating disease affecting many crops, including hops. This study aims to describe fungal and bacterial populations associated with bulk and rhizosphere soils in a hop field cultivated in Slovenia with the Celeia variety, which is highly susceptible to Verticillium nonalfalfae. As both healthy and diseased plants coexist in the same field, we focused this study on the detection of putative differences in the microbial communities associated with the two types of plants. Bacterial communities were characterized by sequencing the V4 region of the 16S rRNA gene, whereas sequencing of the ITS2 region was performed for fungal communities. The bacterial community was dominated by phyla Proteobacteria, Acidobacteriota, Bacteroidota, Actinobacteriota, Planctomycetota, Chloroflexi, Gemmatimonadota, and Verrucomicrobiota, which are typically found in crop soils throughout the world. At a fungal level, Fusarium sp. was the dominant taxon in both bulk and rhizosphere soils. Verticillium sp. levels were very low in all samples analyzed and could only be detected by qPCR in the rhizosphere of diseased plants. The rhizosphere of diseased plants underwent important changes with respect to the rhizosphere of healthy plants where significant increases in potentially beneficial fungi such as the basidiomycetes Ceratobasidium sp. and Mycena sp., the zygomycete Mortierella sp., and a member of Glomeralles were observed. However, the rhizosphere of diseased plants experienced a decrease in pathogenic basidiomycetes that can affect the root system, such as Thanatephorus cucumeris (the teleomorph of Rhizoctonia solani) and Calyptella spSIThis work was financed through a PRIMA grant (Section 2-2021) and is part of the project PCI2022-132966, funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation (MCIN), the State Investigation Agency (MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033), and by the European Union “NextGenerationEU”/Recovery Plant, Transformation and Resilience (PRTR). [EN] Introduction: Dermoid cysts are congenital tumors caused by entrapment of ectoderm during embryogenesis. The most common localization are the gonads and less than 10% are in the head and neck. They are slow growing and generally observed between the second and third decades of life, being unusual in chilhood. Description: We report a case of a 5 year old male with recurrent respiratory infections, mouth breathing and snoring with apneas and daytime sleepiness. On physical examination tonsillar hypertrophy and a 4 cm sublingual tumor are detected. As complementary tests are performed overnight polysomnography with AHI of 18.3 / h and ultrasonography, reported as cystic mass with multiple rounded echogenic structures inside. Results: The patient was diagnosed with severe OSA and tonsillectomy and intraorally enucleation of tumor (as diagnosis and treatment) were performed; with histopathological diagnosis of dermoid cyst. In the postoperative control we check the resolution of respiratory events and snoring. Discussion: Dermoid cysts of the oral cavity (where sublingual localization is the most common) represent only 0,01% of all cysts and 1,6% of all dermoid cysts. Usually present as slow-growing asymptomatic mass, even if they reach large size can compromise swallowing, speech or breathing and eventually cause, as in our case, a severe OSA. The surgical treatment allows to confirm the diagnosis an avoid the risk of infectious complications and eventual malignant transformation
