Ecuador has undertaken important reforms in search of universality and equity, however, the system remains fragmented and does not guarantee universal access. Epidemiological Surveillance and post-pandemic Primary Health Care (PHC) in the most vulnerable population of the Jipijapa Canton are essential elements for health regulatory entities. The canton, guided by the Ministry of Public Health and other public and private non-governmental sectors and civil society, as a new model of integrated health care system. This research aims to describe the results obtained in the intervention of the project of linkage with society such as "Epidemiological Surveillance and Primary Health Care (APS) post-pandemic in the most vulnerable population of the Jipijapa Canton", the research was not Experimental, the descriptive, field method was used, applying an information collection instrument to 4066 homes in the urban and rural parishes of the Jipijapa canton, with the active intervention of sixth semester nursing students and teachers from the Southern State University. of Manabí, keeping ethical and methodological characteristics of rigor, with the purpose of minimizing or destroying the reservoirs of the reproduction of vector diseases in different areas of the canton.

A GIS-supported Multidisciplinary Database for the Management of UNESCO Global Geoparks: the Courel Mountains Geopark (Spain)

[Abstract] The management of a UNESCO Global Geopark (UGGp) requires a vast wealth of miscellaneous scientific knowledge that can be successfully organised using a Geographical Information System (GIS). This paper presents a pragmatic GIS database to assist in the suitable governance of the Courel Mountains UGGp (2017) in Northwest Spain. The database is structured in 66 coverages compiled from public sources and previous works or produced through traditional mapping (combining fieldwork and photointerpretation) and GIS tools. The acquired data was later homogenised and validated by a multidisciplinary team and archived in independent coverages. Forty thematic maps illustrate the broad range of cartographic information included in the GIS database. Among them, 25 basic maps provide an overview of the UGGp and 15 new maps focus on crosscutting and technical issues. All maps illustrate the huge potential of GIS to create new resources combining coverages and adapting the legend according to their purpose and audience. The database facilitates the suitable publishing of consistent outputs (e.g., brochures, books, panels, webpages, web serves), as well as the elaboration of technical data to assist the park management. The database furnishes information on the design of education actions, touristic routes, activities and Geopark facilities. The GIS database is also a supportive tool for scientific research and provides the necessary knowledge to conduct geoconservation actions based on land use, geological hazards and the occurrence of natural and cultural heritages. Altogether, the GIS database constitutes a powerful instrument for policy-making, facilitating the identification and evaluation of alternative strategy plans. This work was developed in the framework of the Scientific Program of the Courel Mountains UGGp with the cooperation of tourism agents (A.M. Arza and A. López), roofing slate quarries (Pizarras de Villarbacú, Pizarras de Quiroga) and local people (M. Reinosa, G. Díaz, O. Álvarez). We are deeply grateful to J.R.

[Background] Brentuximab vedotin (BV) has been approved for CD30-expressing cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL) after at least one previous systemic treatment. However, real clinical practice is still limited.[Objectives] To evaluate the response and tolerance of BV in a cohort of patients with CTCL.[Methods] We analysed CTCL patients treated with BV from the Spanish Primary Cutaneous Lymphoma Registry (RELCP).[Results] Sixty-seven patients were included. There were 26 females and the mean age at diagnosis was 59 years. Forty-eight were mycosis fungoides (MF), 7 Sézary syndrome (SS) and 12 CD30+ lymphoproliferative disorders (CD30 LPD). Mean follow-up was 18 months. Thirty patients (45%) showed at least 10% of CD30+ cells among the total lymphocytic infiltrate. The median number of BV infusions received was 7. The overall response rate (ORR) was 67% (63% in MF, 71% in SS and 84% in CD30 LPD). Ten of 14 patients with folliculotropic MF (FMF) achieved complete or partial response (ORR 71%). The median time to response was 2.8 months. During follow-up, 36 cases (54%) experienced cutaneous relapse or progression. The median progression free survival (PFS) was 10.3 months. The most frequent adverse event was peripheral neuropathy (PN) (57%), in most patients (85%), grades 1 or 2.[Conclusions] These results confirm the efficacy and safety of BV in patients with advanced-stage MF, and CD30 LPD. In addition, patients with FMF and SS also showed a favourable response. Our data suggest that BV retreatment is effective in a proportion of cases. The Spanish Primary Cutaneous Lymphoma Registry (RELCP) is promoted by the Fundación Piel Sana Academia Española de Dermatología y Venereología, which received an unrestricted grant support from Kyowa Kirin.Peer reviewe

Introduction: Oncologic surgery is a recent denomination for a millenary practice. The emergence of hospitals dedicated to cancer management led to the creation of oncologic surgery departments and the separation of the general surgeon to the specialized cancer surgeon, defining the formation of this new specialty. Development: The development addresses the background and evolution of oncologic surgery, explains the various advances in pediatric tumors and current practical applications of minimally invasive surgery, as well as breast cancer, in the elderly, head and neck. Concluding with future lines of research with respect to the subject matter addressed in the article . Conclusions: Oncologic surgery has evolved substantially by applying innovative strategies that improve results and quality of life. Research continues, ethics and multidisciplinary collaboration are crucial to advance in the treatment of cancer.Introducción: La cirugía oncológica es una denominación reciente para una práctica milenaria.
