    Educational challenges requires the improvement of the quality of learning.one of the challenges of learning in teacher education institutions is theweak development of prospective teachers. Shulman mentions that to improve thequality of learning for candidate teachers is through the concept of pedagogicalcontent knowledge (PCK). Tarbiyah Faculty as LPTK that prepares prospectivecandidate teachers of religion is considered important to seek the mastery of  PCK skills through the development model of learning offered at the lecturing session. One of the benefits of PCKconcept is to be able to build the integrity of the candidate teacher’s competencies in mastering the content and pedagogy as a whole.     This research was motivated still many natural disasters in Indonesia. Geological disasters would always be an important issue in the Indonesian Nation as a consequence of Indonesia's geological conditions unique region, rich in natural resources but full of potential disasters. Disaster handling required the participation of all components of the nation led to the importance of the massive dissemination of disaster information to all levels of society. Unfortunately, the competence of members of the community who were still considered weak in disaster mitigation and counseling techniques became constraints the achievement of objectives disaster-conscious society. Increased competence was absolutely necessary and training could be selected as an option to improve competence. Research conducted using the method of research and development which was divided into three main stages. First, the needs analysis as a preliminary study, the second, the development of a model curriculum, and the third trials of the curriculum model to determine the effectiveness in improving the competence fields of geological disaster mitigation

    Assessment in leadership is an important part of the management function, namely controlling (supervision/assessment) to measure the progress and performance of the Principal. And the Principal's Leadership Assessment cannot be separated from the foundations of religion, philosophy, psychology and sociology. The results will have an influence on efforts to improve leadership in an education towards change, improvement, improvement, development and maintaining the achievements that have been achieved in the institution, so that it is a quality and superior educational institution. The study method and approach used in the research is through an approach approach, namely by conducting a literature review and field study. Data was collected through Interview, Observation and Documentation. The data were analyzed through the process of data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. Management problems in school governance are problems that are often not in accordance with the complexity of environmental changes, both in terms of planning, coordination, implementation, direction and supervision (evaluation). The development of school principals carried out by the government (through the education office) has not yet given maximum results in improving the quality of education. This happens because the empowerment of all components in the school environment has not been optimal. However, the implementation of the assessment on the basis of religion, philosophy, psychology and socialism on the leadership of the Head of the DKI Jakarta Education Office is clearly visible in the supervision process, this can be seen in clearly written points (indicators), for example having noble character, being an example of noble character, honest attitude, commitment and integrity.Penilaian dalam kepemimpinan merupakan bagian penting dalam fungsi manajemen yaitu controlling (pengawasan/penilaian) untuk mengukur kinerja Kepala Sekolah. Dan Penilaian kepemimpinan Kepala Sekolah tidak lepas dari aspek agama, filosofi, psikologi dan sosiologi. Hasil penilaian akan memberi pengaruh pada upaya perbaikan kepemimpinan dalam sebuah lembaga pendidikan untuk menuju perubahan, perbaikan, meningkatkan,mengembangkan dan memepertahankan capaian yang telah diraih dalam lembaga tersebut, sehingga terlahir lembaga pendidikan yang unggul dan berkualitas. Metode dan pendekatan kajian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini melalui pendekatan kualitatif, yakni dengan melakukan kajian pustaka dan kajian lapangan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui Wawancara, Observasi dan Dokumentasi (WOD). Data tersebut dianalisis melalui proses data reduction, data display dan conclusion.Permasalahan manajemen dalam tata kelola sekolah merupakan permasalahan seringkali belum sejalan dengan kompleksitas perubahan lingkungan, baik dari sisi perencanaan, koordinasi, pelaksanaan, pengarahan dan pengawasan (evaluasi). Pembinaan Kepala Sekolah yang dilakukan oleh pemerintah (melaui dinas pendidikan) saat ini belum memberikan hasil maksimal dalam peningkatan kualitas penyelenggaraan pendidikan. Hal ini terjadi karena belum optimalnya pemberdayaan dari seluruh komponen yang ada dalam lingkungan sekolah. Namun pelaksanaan penilaian dengan landasan agama, filsafat, Psikologi dan Sosial terhadap kepemimpinan Kepala Sekolah di Dinas Pendidikan DKI Jakarta secara nyata nampak dalam proses pengawasan atau penilaian, hal ini terlihat dalam butir penilaian (indikator) tertulis secara jelas, misalnya berakhlak mulia, menjadi teladan akhlak mulia, sikap jujur, komitmen dan integritas

    Learning Model Development to Improve Students' Oral Communication Skill

    The reality, students who have graduated from junior high schools do not achieve the learning quality as expected by the curriculum. The alumni of junior high schools still have the low oral communication skill in English. The problem of the present research was what learning model which can improve the students' oral communication skill. The purpose of this research is to find a product in the form of learning model as an alternative learning model which can improve oral communication skill. The research approach used in this study was research and development by modifying the ten steps of research procedures into only three steps that are (1) preliminary study, (2) model development, and (3) model validation test. The participants of this study were the teachers and the students of the junior high schools in North of Lombok, Nusa Tenggara Barat. The data collection techniques used in this study such as observation, questionnaire, document study, and oral test. The collected data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively (statistical test). This research and development study produced a learning model that can be used to improve the English oral communication skill. That learning model consists of five learning steps, namely (1) the orientation phase, (2) the phase of using the command to direct behavior, (3) the phase of role reversal, (4) the phase of role independent practice, and (5) the phase of guided practice. After analyzing the data in the form score difference between pretest and posttest in the experimental group and the control group. It is concluded that the developed learning model effectively improved the junior high school students' spoken communication skill when being compared with the conventional learning model that was usually used by the teacher. The developed learning model emphasizes the students' activities in the learning process. It can be applied by the teacher through saying a word and demonstrating an act to represent its meaning without translating it into Indonesia Language, and asking the students to also demonstrate the word. After demonstrating the word, the students try to produce the oral language through the question and answer activities both independently and being guided by the teacher. Based on the findings, it is recommended for teachers, junior high school institutions, school committee, education department in local government, to utilize this learning model as an alternative model in learning English as a Foreign Language (EFL) in junior high schools

    Education has a very close relationship to the change of values and culture, therefore in order to achieve the purity of the culture, education needs to form a strong individual person, in order to achieve a golden Indonesia by not softening existing values and cultures. Therefore, it is important to conduct this research aiming to find out the socio-cultural system of the Indonesian people in the social science learning curriculum for the junior secondary level in the province of Riau. This study uses descriptive evaluative design with mixed method type that mixed method. Purposive smpling is a sampling technique used by researchers, with several stages of data collection including: observation, interview, documentation and questionnaires. After research and results were obtained that the 2013 curriculum is better used in junior high school students compared to KTSP, by using the 2013 curriculum and a qualified strategy in the learning process can increase students' curiosity towards learning and social problems in the environment, students can understand the learning well and deeper into the value of Malay culture

This condition is not only motivated by the status of UNSIKA as a State University in Karawang area but also because the position of Karawang City is located on the border of the Capital City, in which it is the center of Metropolitan life. Thus, this situation may affect the social conditions of the community which is later formed a culture shock. There are a big number of students who come to study at UNSIKA from various regions, including outside Java Island. Various resources must be prepared, especially in terms of human resources. We must prepare competent leadership who has a vision of the future that can answer these challenges. This study uses a descriptive qualitative methodology with a Library Research approach. The millennium has brought us many challenges and many opportunities for leadership. Leadership is no longer fixated on electing a few who are given power and authority. Each must be engaged to make full use of the knowledge and information that forms the basis of working life in the world of advanced technology in this century. Self-leadership is the key to enhancing learning which is necessary to enable us to face the challenges of a knowledge-based and information- rich age. Superleadership provides a tool for leaders to be able to create self-leadership in others. Religion plays a very important role in leadership. Anyone who enforces leadership, if it is done from a religious perspective, is actually continuing the prophetic mission (nubuwwah) and this applies throughout time. Becoming an effective leader requires a fairly complex process. Many factors influence the birth of future leaders. From a religious, philosophical, psychological and sociological perspective we will be able to see the importance of education in an effort to produce future leaders.Perubahan adalah sebuah keniscayaan. Kita harus menerima perubahan dengan tangan terbuka. Tidak ada pilihan lain kecuali menjawab tantangan perubahan tersebut dengan menyiapkan berbagai komponen untuk menyambutnya.     PENGEMBANGAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN INVESTIGASI KELOMPOK BERVARIASI UNTUK MENINGKATKAN SIKAP NASIONALISME PESERTA DIDIK

    Salah satu karakter yang dibutuhkan dalam era pendidikan abad 21 adalah  nasionalisme. untuk menciptakan peserta didik yang memiliki nasionalisme yang kuat, maka diperlukan model pembelajaran yang dapat menguatkan sikap nasionalisme.Dalam dokumen kurikulum 2013, salah satu tujuan diajarkan geografi di SMA supaya  peserta didik tetap mampu  menunjukkan perilaku cinta tanah air, bangga sebagai bangsa Indonesia, dan bertanggung jawab terhadap keutuhan Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia yang berlandaskan pada Pancasila dan UUD 1945. Sementara dalam silabus tidak ada materi khusus yang membahas mengenai nasionalisme itu sendiri.  Maka desain model PIKB (Pembelajaran Investigasi Kelompok Bervariasi) ini adalah solusinya. model pembelajaran PIKB ini  mengadopsi konsepnya dari model investigasi kelompok yang dijelaskan oleh  Joyce (2009:319). Model PIKB  merubah dan memaknai   materi pelajaran geografi yang biasa diajarkan  menjadi luar biasa efeknya bagi sikap nasionalisme peserta didik. Berdasarkan  parameter nasionalisme yang dikemukakan oleh Hertz (1944:171) yaitu : 1) Memiliki  rasa ingin  untuk selalu mencapai kesatuan dan persatuan 2) keinginan  untuk mencapai kemerdekaan 3) keinginan  untuk mencapai keaslian 4) keinginan   untuk mencapai kehormatan bangsa. Diperoleh  skor Pengetahuan, sikap dan perilaku nasionalisme peserta peserta didik mengalami kenaikan yang signifkan.

    Context evaluation on implementation of English for Islamic studies program in IAIN Palu, Indonesia

    This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the Teaching of English for Islamic Studies (EIS) at IAIN Palu, Indonesia, from the context component. Evaluation of context component is one part of Stufflebeam’s CIPP model program evaluation consisting of context evaluation, input evaluation, process evaluation, and product evaluation. It highlighted the need analysis and goal of the EIS program as well as supporting factors and constraints of the program. Ninety-seven second-semester students of five study programs, namely: Islamic Education Management, Arabic Language Education, Islamic Da’wah & Communication, Al-Qur’an Science & Tafsir, and Syariah Banking study program were chosen as a sample of the study through stratified random sampling. The questionnaires were used to seek the perceptions of students and lecturers. The data are also supported by a semi-structured interview with the heads of departments, program designer and the authorized official, class observation and examination of relevant written documents. The results of the study showed that the aspects of context evaluation in this study were effective in general. The findings reveal the goal and needs analysis become the stepping stone for the development of EIS for Indonesian learners
