The mediating role of the dark triad in the effect of emotional intelligence on turnover intention
Turnover intention refers to an employee's tendency or intention to voluntarily leave or move from their current position and seek employment elsewhere. This study aims to analyze the relationship between emotional intelligence and turnover intention with dark triad as mediating variable, based on the Social Exchange Theory and Job Demands-Resources (JD-R) Theory. A quantitative approach with a causal associative method was employed in this research. The sampling method used was proportional random sampling, with a total sample of 235 employees. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed through Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares (PLS-SEM) to examine both direct and indirect relationships among the study variables. The findings reveal that emotional intelligence has a significant negative effect on turnover intention. Furthermore, emotional intelligence significantly negatively influences Machiavellianism, narcissism, and psychopathy. In turn, Machiavellianism, narcissism, and psychopathy have a significant positive effect on turnover intention. The mediation analysis indicates that Machiavellianism, narcissism, and psychopathy partially and competitively mediate the effect of emotional intelligence on turnover intention. These results provide practical implications for IHG as valuable input and consideration in managing human resources to reduce employee turnover.
The influence of listening to songs in English on the improvement of pronunciation skills of high school students
This research aims to determine how incorporating English songs into classroom instruction can improve the pronunciation skills of high school students in Santo Domingo de Los Tsáchilas. The participants were 40 high school students divided into two groups: an experimental group and a control group. The study encompassed ten English lessons in which the experimental group worked with a task-based program that included English songs, while the control group received standard instruction with varied tasks; both groups focused on improving pronunciation. To collect data, a Likert scale questionnaire with ten items was administered to identify students' preferences regarding music and their attitudes toward listening to music in class. Additionally, pre- and post-tests were conducted to evaluate the students' pronunciation before and after the intervention. Interviews with English teachers were conducted to understand their perspectives on the use of English songs in the classroom and its potential impact on pronunciation. The findings indicate significant improvements in the pronunciation skills of the students in the experimental group compared to those in the control group, highlighting the effectiveness of using English songs as a pedagogical tool. The implications of these results for teaching practices are discussed in conclusion

The findings of the study show that perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness have a positive and significant effect on reuse intention, perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness have a positive and significant effect on e-satisfaction, and e-satisfaction has a positive and significant effect on reuse intention. The results of the mediation role test showed that e-satisfaction partially mediated the effect of perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness on reuse intention.
The mediating role of e-satisfaction in the influence of perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and product quality on e-loyalty: A study on Kopi Kenangan Application users in Denpasar City
In today’s increasingly competitive business environment, maintaining long-term relationships with customers has become a key driver of business success. Customer loyalty, which encompasses both attitudinal and behavioral aspects, plays a vital role in sustaining competitiveness, particularly in the digital era where consumers are offered numerous service alternatives. Within the context of beverage ordering applications such as Kopi Kenangan, building customer loyalty presents both a challenge and a strategic opportunity. This study aims to examine the influence of perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and product quality on e-loyalty, with e-satisfaction serving as a mediating variable. Drawing on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), a quantitative approach was employed involving 210 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using an online questionnaire and analyzed with Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) via SmartPLS 4.1. The results reveal that all three independent variables exert a positive and significant effect on e-loyalty, both directly and indirectly through e-satisfaction as a partial mediator. These findings highlight the critical role of ease of use, perceived benefits, and product quality in shaping satisfaction and fostering sustainable customer loyalty
Job stress and work-life balance on turnover intention: The mediating role of job satisfaction
This study aims to examine the effect of Job Stress and work-life balance on turnover intention, with job satisfaction as a mediating variable among healthcare employees at RSU Grha Bhakti Medika in Bali. Using a quantitative approach and Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), data were collected from 92 nurses and midwives through a structured questionnaire. The results reveal that Job Stress has a positive and significant effect on turnover intention, while work-life balance and job satisfaction have negative and significant effects on turnover intention. Additionally, Job Stress negatively affects job satisfaction, whereas a good work-life balance positively influences job satisfaction. The mediation analysis confirms that job satisfaction partially mediates the relationship between job stress and work-life balance, as well as between work-life balance and turnover intention. These findings highlight the importance of reducing Job Stress and promoting work-life balance to enhance job satisfaction and lower turnover intention among hospital employees. The study offers practical implications for hospital management in developing HR policies that support employee well-being and retention, especially in the context of strengthening Indonesia’s health tourism sector
The Impact of Bible translation on the preservation of Itangikom, Lamnso and Mungaka
This study explores the role of Bible translation in preserving Itangikom, Lamnso, and Mungaka—three minority languages in Cameroon’s North West Region. Using a mixed-methods approach, data were collected from interviews with five linguists and ten translators, questionnaires from 150 native speakers, focus group discussions with community elders, and analysis of translated texts. Drawing on Ethnolinguistic Vitality Theory (Fishman, 1991), Sociolinguistic Relativity Theory (Crystal, 2000), and Language Planning and Policy Theories (Spolsky, 2004), the study reveals that Bible translation enhances literacy by standardizing orthographies and supporting church-based literacy programs. Over 68% of respondents first encountered written texts in their language through religious materials (Lewis, Simons & Fennig, 2016). Translation efforts have also bolstered cultural identity, preserved orality, instilled pride, contextualized worship, and fostered intergenerational transmission. However, challenges such as limited funding, resource scarcity, the ongoing Anglophone crisis, and the influence of dominant languages like Pidgin English, English, and French (Kraus, 1992) remain. The study recommends increased investment in translation, integration into formal education, digitization, and advocacy to enhance community engagement. Ultimately, Bible translation is shown to be a powerful tool for linguistic documentation, cultural preservation, and the promotion of educational equity
The role of customer satisfaction in mediating the influence of perceived value and trust on reuse intention: A study of ShopeeFood service users in Denpasar City
Reuse intention is defined as a consumer's willingness to continue using a service after the initial experience. This study addresses the issue of declining reuse intention among ShopeeFood users in Denpasar. The main objective is to examine the mediating role of customer satisfaction in the relationship between perceived value and trust toward reuse intention. Drawing upon the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Commitment-Trust Theory (CTT), this study employed purposive sampling to collect data from 160 ShopeeFood users. Data were collected through an online questionnaire and analyzed SEM-PLS approach. The results reveal that perceived value significantly and positively affects reuse intention. Trust has a significant positive impact on both customer satisfaction and reuse intention. Furthermore, customer satisfaction is found to significantly influence reuse intention. The mediation test indicates that customer satisfaction partially and significantly mediates the relationship between perceived value and trust toward reuse intention. These findings contribute to the theoretical development of TAM and CTT in the context of digital service reuse behavior. Practically, the results offer valuable input for companies to enhance customer loyalty. By improving perceived value and fostering trust, businesses can increase customer satisfaction, which ultimately drives reuse behavior in digital platforms such as ShopeeFood
The effect of ethical leadership and perceived organizational support on job satisfaction mediated by psychological empowerment
Nurses are the largest representative of the health worker population in Indonesia, who play an important role in patient care, health, and safety. However, nursing is a field of work with a high level of stress and can trigger a decrease in job satisfaction. This also happened at Ari Canti Hospital in Gianyar Regency, Bali Province-Indonesia. The results of the Employee Satisfaction Survey in 2023 showed that 489 respondents had a job satisfaction level of 66.5%, and the nursing unit had the lowest satisfaction level among other units. This hospital has not met the level of employee job satisfaction that must be achieved, which is a minimum of 80% based on the requirements of the Hospital Accreditation Standards. This study aims to analyze the effect of ethical leadership and perceived organizational support on nurse job satisfaction with psychological empowerment as a mediating variable. Based on the Social Exchange Theory, the reciprocal relationship between nurses, superiors, and organizations plays an important role in creating job satisfaction. This study was conducted at Ari Canti Hospital with a sample of 154 nurses. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling with the Partial Least Squares approach.
