The availability of the housing program for internally displaced people in Ukraine: barriers and facilitators

    Get PDF
The purpose of this thesis is to research a housing program for internally displaced per-sons (IDPs) in Ukraine and identify factors hindering its successful implementation (suc-cess in this thesis is defined as high rates of participation). Housing policy is important to be researched because it has a crucial influence on the ability of IDPs to adapt to a new community. Access to adequate and affordable housing is the first step in their pro-cess of resettlement and integration. The Affordable Housing Program (AHP) of Ukraine was designed according to the pref-erences of IDPs and provided them with funding for housing purchase since 2017, but the program lacked participants. To find out why, there was, firstly, a detailed analysis of program design and its’ requirements conducted. After that, 24 Ukrainian IDPs were interviewed including AHP participants and the control group of other IDPs. The re-search supported the hypotheses of the thesis and concluded that the main factors con-tributing to hindering the program are (hypothesis 1) administrative issues with the pro-cedure (the most important of them being the long waiting queue for the assistance) and (hypothesis 2) the high financial requirements of the program, which were difficult to be met by participants. Two other hypotheses of the research were not supported. The first one stated that the IDPs do not participate in AHP because of the lack of knowledge about the program, when in actuality they were well-informed about assistance programs. The other stated that IDPs have no need of private ownership of housing, but the interviewees expressed an aspiration to purchase housing. Despite those aspirations, IDPs were rather limited in their financial abilities to purchase housing, even with AHP assistance. Thus, it was concluded that the state should provide displaced people with different kinds of programs helping not only with purchase, but also giving options of affordable temporary accommodation. Otherwise, the general in-tegration of IDPs into a new community (as well as their employment, political partici-pation, getting healthcare, education and other services) will be hindered by the absence of such a primary need as housing.https://www.ester.ee/record=b5448170*es

Development of a calculation scheme for selecting the optimal mode of operation of a gas condensate well taking into account the deformation conditions of the formation

    Get PDF
To establish premature optimal well operation modes, it is necessary to consider the process of well operation within the framework of ongoing processes in the common reservoir-well hydrodynamic system and take into account the peculiarities of changes in the properties of the gas condensate mixture and the thermobaric conditions of the reservoir in it. Therefore, the object of the study is the operation of a gas condensate well in the event of technological complications in it, which requires the selection of the necessary optimal operating mode to prevent these complications by comprehensively taking into account the factors influencing this process in the “reservoir-well” system. The article proposes a calculation scheme for establishing the optimal operating mode of a gas condensate well without the formation of a liquid plug at the bottomhole, taking into account the formation deformation during field development in the depletion mode. The problem is solved by determining the required current working volume of produced gas (as well as condensate), bottomhole and contour values of reservoir pressure, condensate saturation and reservoir porosity. As a result of the study, it was revealed that the determined characteristics of the selected optimal mode of a gas condensate well are significantly affected by a change in the reservoir properties of the reservoir (for example, the permeability of the reservoir), which in turn leads to a change in the optimal working gas flow rate of the well. The considered problem has not been previously studied in its full formulation, which is presented in this article, where the solution of the problem under study is achieved taking into account the change in the physical properties of the reservoir fluid and gas, as well as the reservoir properties of the reservoir under conditions of a change in the state of the reservoir system due to emerging deformation processes in the reservoi

Career anchors of young people: the experience of Russian studies (overview)

    Get PDF
The article strives to analyze, systematize and consolidate the findings of empirical research into career orientations of Russian youth through the prism of E. Schein’s anchor conception and on the basis of the various versions of his questionnaire. It was revealed that career orientations in adolescence are characterized by low differentiation, declarative nature, low awareness and contradiction. The article shows that youth career anchors are conditioned by such factors as the year of training, gender, training orientation and type of occupation. Female students are generally inclined towards stability, career-family balance and orientation to service, while male students or, in a broader scope, those with masculine-type personality put more value on management

In conditions of fierce market competition, changing business environment, digitalization and remote workplaces, managerial accounting plays an increasingly important role in facilitating effective monitoring of a company’s activities, making optimal decisions, achieving its goals and development. The paper deals with identifying main trends of scientific and public interest in managerial accounting. Bibliometric analysis is made to determine interconnected clusters of multidisciplinary research in connection with which managerial accounting is considered, and to investigate dynamics in scientific interest on this issue based on tools of Scopus and WoS databases and VosViewer software (the sample of 10,495 articles, including 3,586 in Scopus for 1941–2022 and 6,909 in WoS for 1953–2022). These identified interconnections proved the significance of the managerial accounting component in the system of a company’s management, showed dominate place and described its multidimensionality. In particular, six defined clusters reflect key scientific and practical fields, goals, tasks, potential effects, and risks of managerial accounting. Based on analytical analysis using Google Trends (from 2004 to present) and Google Books Ngram Viewer (for 1800–2019), dynamics and trends of public interest on the issue of managerial accounting were also explored and visualized. The highest level of public interest in managerial accounting was indicated in Jordan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Egypt, Thailand, Korea, the USA, and Canada
