Positivity and conservation of superenergy tensors
Two essential properties of energy-momentum tensors T_{\mu\nu} are their
positivity and conservation. This is mathematically formalized by,
respectively, an energy condition, as the dominant energy condition, and the
vanishing of their divergence \nabla^\mu T_{\mu\nu}=0. The classical Bel and
Bel-Robinson superenergy tensors, generated from the Riemann and Weyl tensors,
respectively, are rank-4 tensors. But they share these two properties with
energy momentum tensors: the Dominant Property (DP) and the divergence-free
property in the absence of sources (vacuum). Senovilla defined a universal
algebraic construction which generates a basic superenergy tensor T{A} from any
arbitrary tensor A. In this construction the seed tensor A is structured as an
r-fold multivector, which can always be done. The most important feature of the
basic superenergy tensors is that they satisfy automatically the DP,
independently of the generating tensor A. In a previous paper we presented a
more compact definition of T{A} using the r-fold Clifford algebra. This form
for the superenergy tensors allowed to obtain an easy proof of the DP valid for
any dimension. In this paper we include this proof. We explain which new
elements appear when we consider the tensor T{A} generated by a
non-degree-defined r-fold multivector A and how orthogonal Lorentz
transformations and bilinear observables of spinor fields are included as
particular cases of superenergy tensors. We find some sufficient conditions for
the seed tensor A, which guarantee that the generated tensor T{A} is
divergence-free. These sufficient conditions are satisfied by some physical

Maternal Serum Meteorin Levels and the Risk of Preeclampsia
BACKGROUND: Meteorin (METRN) is a recently described neutrophic factor with angiogenic properties. This is a nested case-control study in a longitudinal cohort study that describes the serum profile of METRN during different periods of gestation in healthy and preeclamptic pregnant women. Moreover, we explore the possible application of METRN as a biomarker. METHODS AND FINDINGS: Serum METRN was measured by ELISA in a longitudinal prospective cohort study in 37 healthy pregnant women, 16 mild preeclamptic women, and 20 healthy non-pregnant women during the menstrual cycle with the aim of assessing serum METRN levels and its correlations with other metabolic parameters. Immunostaining for METRN protein was performed in placenta. A multivariate logistic regression model was proposed and a classifier model was formulated for predicting preeclampsia in early and middle pregnancy. The performance in classification was evaluated using measures such as sensitivity, specificity, and the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve. In healthy pregnant women, serum METRN levels were significantly elevated in early pregnancy compared to middle and late pregnancy. METRN levels are significantly lower only in early pregnancy in preeclamptic women when compared to healthy pregnant women. Decision trees that did not include METRN levels in the first trimester had a reduced sensitivity of 56% in the detection of preeclamptic women, compared to a sensitivity of 69% when METRN was included. CONCLUSIONS: The joint measurements of circulating METRN levels in the first trimester and systolic blood pressure and weight in the second trimester significantly increase the probabilities of predicting preeclampsia
Fluorescence enhancement of fungicide thiabendazole by van der Waals interaction with transition metal dichalcogenide nanosheets for highly specific sensors
Many molecules quench their fluorescence upon adsorption on surfaces. Herein we show that the interaction of thiabendazole, a widespread used fungicide of the benzimidazole family, with nanosheets of transition metal dichalcogenides, particularly of WS2, leads to a significant increase, more than a factor of 5, of the fluorescence yield. This surprising effect is rationalized by DFT calculations and found to be related to the inhibition of the intramolecular rotation between the benzimidazole and thiazole groups due to a bonding rigidization upon interaction with the MoS2 surface. This non-covalent adsorption leads to a redistribution of the molecular LUMO that blocks the non-radiative energy dissipation channel. This unusual behaviour does not operate either for other molecules of the same benzimidazole family or for other 2D materials (graphene or graphene oxide). Moreover, we found that a linear dependence of the emission with the concentration of thiabendazole in solution, which combined with the specificity of the process, allows the development of a highly sensitive and selective method towards thiabendazole determination that can be applied to real river water samples. Biofilter aquaponic system for nutrients removal from fresh market wastewater
Aquaponics is a significant wastewater treatment system which refers to the combination of conventional aquaculture (raising aquatic organism) with hydroponics (cultivating plants in water) in a symbiotic environment. This system has a high ability in removing nutrients compared to conventional methods because it is a natural and environmentally friendly system (aquaponics). The current chapter aimed to review the possible application of aquaponics system to treat fresh market wastewater with the intention to highlight the mechanism of phytoremediation occurs in aquaponic system. MatryODShka: Real-time 6DoF Video View Synthesis using Multi-Sphere Images
We introduce a method to convert stereo 360{\deg} (omnidirectional stereo)
imagery into a layered, multi-sphere image representation for six
degree-of-freedom (6DoF) rendering. Stereo 360{\deg} imagery can be captured
from multi-camera systems for virtual reality (VR), but lacks motion parallax
and correct-in-all-directions disparity cues. Together, these can quickly lead
to VR sickness when viewing content. One solution is to try and generate a
format suitable for 6DoF rendering, such as by estimating depth. However, this
raises questions as to how to handle disoccluded regions in dynamic scenes. Our
approach is to simultaneously learn depth and disocclusions via a multi-sphere
image representation, which can be rendered with correct 6DoF disparity and
motion parallax in VR. This significantly improves comfort for the viewer, and
can be inferred and rendered in real time on modern GPU hardware. Together,

Standards in semen examination:publishing reproducible and reliable data based on high-quality methodology
Biomedical science is rapidly developing in terms of more transparency, openness and reproducibility of scientific publications. This is even more important for all studies that are based on results from basic semen examination. Recently two concordant documents have been published: the 6th edition of the WHO Laboratory Manual for the Examination and Processing of Human Semen, and the International Standard ISO 23162:2021. With these tools, we propose that authors should be instructed to follow these laboratory methods in order to publish studies in peer-reviewed journals, preferable by using a checklist as suggested in an Appendix to this article.Peer reviewe
