Heat loss prediction of a confined premixed jet flame using a conjugate heat transfer approach

The presented work addresses the investigation of the heat loss of a confined turbulent jet flame in a lab-scale combustor using a conjugate-heat transfer approach and large-eddy simulation. The analysis includes the assessment of the principal mechanisms of heat transfer in this combustion chamber: radiation, convection and conduction of heat over walls. A staggered approach is used to couple the reactive flow field to the heat conduction through the solid and both domains are solved using two implementations of the same code. Persepsi Wisatawan terhadap Oleh-oleh Keripik Cabe di Kota Dumai

This study aims to prove the perception of tourists for souvenirs Chili chips in Dumai City. This research is a survey with a census method, with a total sample of 36 respondents. Data analysis was performed by testing multiple linear regression using SPSS version 16. The variable in this study is the chips taste Chili, Chili chips price and tourist satisfaction. The results showed that the variables flavor Chili chips proved to affect the perception of tourists, while the price variable Chili chips and tourist satisfaction proved to have no effect on the perception of tourists on souvenirs Chili chips in Dumai City. Simultaneously variable chips taste Chili, Chili chips price and tourist satisfaction together influence the perception of tourists. The coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.628 or 62.8%. This shows that the three independent variables (flavor chips Chili, Chili chips price and tourist satisfaction) jointly able to explain to the dependent variable was 62.8%, while the remaining 37.2% can be explained by other variables that are not described in the study this

Strange stars at finite temperature

We calculate strange star properties, using large N_c approximation with built-in chiral symmetry restoration (CSM). We used a relativistic Hartree Fock mean field approximation method, using a modified Richardson potential with two scale parameters \Lambda and \Lambda^\prime, to find a new set of equation of states for strange quark matter. We take the effect of temperature (T) on gluon mass, in addition to the usual density dependence, and find that the transition T from hadronic matter to strange matter is 80 MeV. HUBUNGAN KONSUMSI ALKOHOL DENGAN KEJADIAN GOUTY ARTRITIS PADA PRIA DI PUSKESMAS MOTOLING KECAMATAN MOTOLING

Penyakit asam urat merupakan suatu penyakit yang menyerang persendian dan dikenal dengan nama lain gouty artritis. Kabupaten Minahasa selatan memiliki penyakit sendi tertinggi di Sulawesi utara yaitu 34,1%. Salah satu penyebab meningkatnya kejadian gouty artritis ialah konsumsi alkohol. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat apakah terdapat hubungan antara konsumsi alkohol dengan kejadian gouty artritis pada pria di Puskesmas Motoling Kecamatan Motoling. Jenis penelitian ini adalah analitik observational dengan pendekatan statistik menggunakan metode cross-sectional (potong lintang). Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah 60 responden dan  pengumpulan sampel menggunakan metode total sampli ng didapat dari jumlah semua penderita yang memeriksakan diri di Puskesmas Motoling dengan keluhan nyeri sendi. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner serta data sekunder (data yang tercatat di bagian rekam medis) Puskesmas Motoling Kecamatan Motoling. Data dianalisis pada SPSS menggunakan  uji Chi-square dengan nilai CI=95% dan taraf signifikan α=0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukan distribusi responden yang mengkonsumsi alkohol ialah sebanyak 44 responden (73,7%) dan distribusi responden yang mengalami kejadian gouty artritis ialah sebanyak 39 responden (65%). Dari hasil uji korelasi Chi-square  menunjukan nilai p= 0,009 < 0,05. Dari hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara konsumsi alkohol dengan kejadian gouty artritis pada pria di Puskesmas Motoling, Kecamatan Motoling, Kabupaten Minahasa Selatan. Kata Kunci: Konsumsi Alkohol, Gouty Artritis ABSTRACTGout is a disease that attacks the joints and it’s known by other names as gouty arthritis. South Minahasa has the highest incidence rule of joint disease in North Sulawesi province, namely 34,1%. One cause of the incidence of Gouty Arthritis is alcohol consumption. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a relationship between alcohol consumption with the incidence of Gouty Arthritis of Men in Ptblic Health Center (PHC) of Motoling, sub-district Motoling. This research uses observational analytic methode with a statistical approach using Cross-sectional methode. The population in this study were 60 respondents collecting by total sampling methode obtained from the sum of all patients who present at PHC of Motoling with complaints of joint pain. Data were collected using questionnaires and secondary data (medical record of Arthritis pateints) that recorded in PHC Motoling. Data were analysis using Chi-square test with CI = 95% and a significance level (α) = 0.05. The results showed the distribution of respondents who consume alcohol are 44 respondents (73.7%) and respondent who experienced of gouty arthritis are 39 respondents (65%). From the results of the chi-square test, show the value of p (0.009) are lower than0,05 (p < 0.05). Effect of various trace elements on the growth and sporulation of Claviceps Microcephala and Microxyphiella hibiscifolia

Out of fifteen trace elements tested, Fe, Zn, Mn and Cu were found to be essential for the growth as well as sporulation of Claviceps microcephala and Microxyphiella hibiscifolia; Mo for C. microcephala but not for M. hibiscifolia; Ca for M. hibiscifolia but not for C. microcephala. No other trace element was found to be essential for either of these fungi. Optimum concentrations in ppm of essential trace elements were found to be as follows: C. microcephala, Fe 0.2, Zn 0.1, Mn 1.0, Cu 0.01 (0.01-0.1) and Mo 1.0; M. hibiscifolia, Fe 0.01 (0.01-0.1), Zn 10.0, Mn 1.0, Cu 10.0 and Ca 10.0. Concentrations higher than the optimum were progressively inhibitory to the respective fungi

A Bayesian High-Frequency Estimator of the Multivariate Covariance of Noisy and Asynchronous Returns

A multivariate positive definite estimator of the integrated covariance matrix of noisy and asynchronously observed asset returns is proposed. We adopt a Bayesian Dynamic Linear Model where microstructure noise is interpreted as measurement error, and asynchronous trading as missing observations in an otherwise synchronous series. Missing observations are treated as any other parameter, as typical in a Bayesian framework. An augmented Gibbs algorithm is used since all full conditionals are available and its convergence and robustness are discussed. A realistic simulation study compares our estimator with existing alternatives, under different liquidity and microstructure noise conditions. The results suggest that our estimator is superior in terms of RMSE particularly under severe conditions, such as portfolios of assets with heterogeneous liquidity and high level of microstructure noise. Analisis Kinerja Ekspor Kertas Indonesia ke Amerika Latin

In order to increase the trade flow, Indonesia joined an alliance called as South-South Cooperation and Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC). One of commodity exported by Indonesia to Latin America is paper. This research purposes to analyze the competitiveness of Indonesian paper commodity in Latin America, and finding out factors affect paper export Indonesia to Latin America during 2009-2013, using RCA, EPD, gravity model and Porter's Diamond method. This research revealed that the average of RCA is more than 1; three countries placed on the rising star, one country on lost opportunity position, two countries on falling star position, and two countries in retreat position. Variables affect export volume significantly are Per capita riel GDP of Indonesia and export destination country, export price, and economic distance, while exchange rate is not significantly affect the the exports
