Measuring Accuracy of Triples in Knowledge Graphs

    Get PDF
An increasing amount of large-scale knowledge graphs have been constructed in recent years. Those graphs are often created from text-based extraction, which could be very noisy. So far, cleaning knowledge graphs are often carried out by human experts and thus very inefficient. It is necessary to explore automatic methods for identifying and eliminating erroneous information. In order to achieve this, previous approaches primarily rely on internal information i.e. the knowledge graph itself. In this paper, we introduce an automatic approach, Triples Accuracy Assessment (TAA), for validating RDF triples (source triples) in a knowledge graph by finding consensus of matched triples (among target triples) from other knowledge graphs. TAA uses knowledge graph interlinks to find identical resources and apply different matching methods between the predicates of source triples and target triples. Then based on the matched triples, TAA calculates a confidence score to indicate the correctness of a source triple. In addition, we present an evaluation of our approach using the FactBench dataset for fact validation. Our findings show promising results for distinguishing between correct and wrong triples

Autori prikazuju suvremene nazore o patologiji i klinici otrovanja trikloretilenom. Pritom se detaljno iznose najnoviji rezultati proučavanja metabolizma te izlučivanje pojedinih metabolita, a naročito trikloroctene kiseline. The authors discuss the modern concepts regarding pathology and clinical aspects of trichlorethylene poisoning. The results are given of the most recent investigations of the metabolism and the secretion of metabolites, especially of trichloroacetic acid

Determination of the exposure of health personnel to X-rays and radium by film dosimetry

Prikazani su rezultati dozimctrije filmom kod 360 zdravstvenih radnika. Ti su rezultati analizirani s obzirom na struku, radno mjesto i frekvenciju profesionalnih oštećenja.527 measurements were made concerning the weekly exposure dose of 360 persons in the Health Service (173 physicians and 187 technicians and auxiliary staff) exposed to X-rays (318) and radium (42). The results obtained were analysed as regards occupation, kind of work, working conditions, and the injury frequency rate. It has been shown that a comparatively large number of the personnel examined was exposed to high radiation doses, ascribed to defective equipment, improper technical and personal protective devices, and unsafe methods of work. The lesions observed in physicians were more local (skin injuries), whereas those in technicians and auxiliary staff related to the whole body (haemopoietic organs)

Opisan je slučaj akutnog otrovanja trikloretilenorn putem ingestije. Bolesnica je zabunom popila 50 ml trikloretilena umjesto rakije. Glavni simptom otrovanja bila je narkoza. Povodom ovog slučaja autori raspravljaju 31 slučaj otrovanja ingestijom iz stručne literature.A case of acute trichloroethylene poisoning due to accidental ingestion of approximately 50 ml of the toxic agent is presented. General anaesthaesia was the outstanding feature in the clinical course of the intoxication. The authors review the cases from the literature adding their case to the 31 already reported. Discussing the laboratory findings in the presented case the authors express their opinion that the metabolism of thrichloroethylene when ingested does not essentially differ from the metabolism of the same substance when inhaled

Integrating Tobacco Control and Obesity Prevention Initiatives at Retail Outlets

    Get PDF
Tobacco products are sold in approximately 375,000 US retail outlets, including convenience stores and pharmacies, which often sell energy-dense, low-nutrient foods and beverages. The Food and Drug Administration's (FDA's) increased authority over tobacco product sales and marketing, combined with declining smoking rates, provides an opportunity to transition tobacco retailers toward healthier retail environments. Unfortunately, research into improving consumer retail environments is often conducted in isolation by researchers working in tobacco control, nutrition, and physical activity. Interdisciplinary efforts are needed to transform tobacco retailers from stores that are dependent on a declining product category, to the sale and promotion of healthful foods and creating environments conducive to active living. The objective of this article is to describe the potential for interdisciplinary efforts to transition retailers away from selling and promoting tobacco products and toward creating retail environments that promote healthful eating and active living

Hyperprolactinemia in antipsychotic-naive patients with first-episode psychosis

Background Hyperprolactinemia is frequent in patients with schizophrenic psychoses. It is usually regarded as an adverse effect of antipsychotics but has recently also been shown in patients without antipsychotic medication. Our objective was to test whether hyperprolactinemia occurs in antipsychotic-naive first-episode patients (FEPs). Method In the framework of the European First Episode Schizophrenia Trial (EUFEST), 249 out of 498 FEPs were eligible for this study, of whom 74 were antipsychotic naive. All patients were investigated regarding their serum prolactin levels with immunoassays standardized against the 3rd International Reference Standard 84/500. Results Twenty-nine (39%) of the 74 antipsychotic-naive patients showed hyperprolactinemia not explained by any other reason, 11 (50%) of 22 women and 18 (35%) of 52 men. Conclusions Hyperprolactinemia may be present in patients with schizophrenic psychoses independent of antipsychotic medication. It might be stress induced. As enhanced prolactin can increase dopamine release through a feedback mechanism, this could contribute to explaining how stress can trigger the outbreak of psychosi
