Draft Genome Sequences of Five Enterococcus Species Isolated from the Gut of Patients with Suspected Clostridium difficile Infection

Genome completeness was confirmed by presence of bacterial orthologs (97%). Organizational Capabilities, Value Cocreation, and Marketing Innovation: How Well Are We Prepared to Face Future Challenges?

The purpose of this chapter is to discuss the importance of management and strategic development, as well as network management and market orientation, in the results of innovation in marketing and collaboration of companies. In addition, the authors analyze how collaboration with other agents of interest is fundamental for the change of projects to have strategic impact, that is, for there to be a relationship between the development efforts of the area and the results of the business. Hence, the relevance of business models and the existence of dynamic capabilities to create value to the organization, the client, and society are analyzed. Coupled with the authors’ empirical examination of the degree of collaboration that Chilean industrial companies have achieved, the main contributions of this chapter are (1) an explanatory study that provides a systematic analysis of literature regarding innovation organizational capabilities; (2) identification of three aspects of structure of a company’s network, market orientation, and strategic development, which are relevant to consider when establishing superior performance; and (3) generation of empirical evidence through a study applied to companies of the business-to-business sector in Chile using a self-administered survey method and presentation of results at the variable level

The most influential countries in market orientation: A bibliometric analysis between 1990 and 2016

© The Author(s) 2018. The purpose of this article is to analyze the most productive and influential countries engaging in market orientation (MO) research between 1990 and 2016. This article shows the general trajectories of these countries, the relationships among them, and their research in the area of MO by analyzing results on citations and publications. The article uses applied bibliometric techniques on available information found in the Web of Science. The results show that the 10 leading countries produce more than 70% of total publications, where the United States leads in all indicators, followed by the United Kingdom and China. Furthermore, although there has been a steady increase in overall number of publications, this trend is not shared evenly among different nations

Reapropiación y resignificación del territorio y el patrimonio: aplicación de la evaluación de acogida a la zona de Dos Huecos, Argentina

La reapropiación del patrimonio territorial implica la legitimación social y el otorgamiento de un valor simbólico lo cual implica una resignificación del mismo por parte de la sociedad, produciendo como resultado un nuevo proyecto territorial. En algunos casos, como en el de estudio, se vincula la incorporación del mismo al sistema productivo como recurso turístico-recreativo. Por esto es necesario procesos de integración basados en tres aspectos básicos: la integración física, funcional y social de la propuesta. El objetivo del trabajo es analizar el patrimonio natural y cultural del área denominada Dos Huecos(Parque Antonio y Juana Cinque de Tandil. Buenos Aires) y su potencial reutilización para fines recreativos.La metodología aplicada es de tipo exploratoria-descriptiva, apoyada en el análisis de las características ambientales que conforman la estructura y el funcionamiento del territorio, mediante matrices de capacidad de acogida.Como resultado puede decirse que en términos potenciales es viable la reutilización del Parque Antonio y Juana Cinque, como mecanismo de reapropiación del patrimonio local, bajo ciertas condiciones e integrando el área al contexto espacial y temporal que le otorga significado.The reappropriation of territorial heritage involves social legitimacy and providing a symbolic value which implies a redefinition of it by society, producing as a result a new territorial project. In some cases, as in the study, these processes involve the incorporation of it into the production system as a tourist-recreational resource. For this you need integration processes based on three basic aspects: physical, functional and social integration of the proposal.The aim of this work is to analyze the natural and cultural heritage of the area called Two Hollows(Antonio and Juana Cinque Tandil Park. The artificial intelligence-based formats promise a very substantial improvement in education for all the different levels, with an unprecedented qualitative improvement: to provide the students with an accurate personalization of their learning according to their requirements, managing to integrate the different forms of human interaction and information and communications technologies. Short-term variability of comet C/2012 S1 (ISON) at 4.8 AU from the Sun

We observed comet C/2012 S1 (ISON) during six nights in February 2013 when it was at 4.8 AU from the sun. At this distance and time the comet was not very active and it was theoretically possible to detect photometric variations likely due to the rotation of the cometary nucleus. The goal of this work is to obtain differential photometry of the comet inner coma using different aperture radii in order to derive a possible rotational period. Large field of view images were obtained with a 4k x 4k CCD at the f/3 0.77m telescope of La Hita Observatory in Spain. Aperture photometry was performed in order to get relative magnitude variation versus time. Using calibrated star fields we also obtained ISON's R-magnitudes versus time. We applied a Lomb-Scargle periodogram analysis to get possible periodicities for the observed brightness variations, directly related with the rotation of the cometary nucleus. The comet light curve obtained is very shallow, with a peak-to-peak amplitude of 0.03 $\pm$ 0.02 mag. A tentative synodic rotational period (single-peaked) of 14.4 $\pm$ 1.2 hours for ISON's nucleus is obtained from our analysis, but there are other possibilities. We studied the possible effect of the seeing variations in the obtained periodicities during the same night, and from night to night. These seeing variations had no effect on the derived periodicity. Durability Studies of Solar Reflectors Used in Concentrating Solar Thermal Technologies under Corrosive Sulfurous Atmospheres

Concentrating solar thermal (CST) technologies are a feasible and promising option to tackle worldwide energy problems. These solar facilities are sometimes located near industrial sites, where their main components—including concentrating solar reflectors—are prone to significant degradation caused by corrosive agents, especially in the presence of sulfurous atmospheres such as H2S and SO2. This paper focuses on analyzing the influence of sulfurous atmospheres on the durability of reflector materials used in CST technologies. To this end, accelerated aging tests were performed on the most commonly used materials found in solar reflectors (i.e., thick silvered glass and aluminum-based reflectors) by applying the same concentrations of H2S and SO2 under the same conditions of temperature and relative humidity. The results showed that the solar reflectors based on a silver reflective layer are significantly corroded by H2S atmospheres—several corrosion defects were found in the samples tested. However, those based on aluminum were barely affected by sulfurous environments in the conditions tested. Nonetheless, the study suggests that both reflector types are suitable candidates, depending on the purpose of the CST technology in question and the specific environmental conditions

This chapter discusses the importance of customer value orientation to achieve good results from the sales team. The text analyzes how the management of several variables in human resources is fundamental towards good performance of the sales force. Their behavior and attitude is essential in helping companies develop long-term profitable relationships with customers. Hence, by assessing employee perceptions on incentive policies, and the training they have received, positive impacts on job satisfaction and customer orientation can be found. The career stage of the sales force has a relevant effect on management decisions as the life cycle influences the expectations of the sales force, the type of training, the incentive policies, and the level of commitment to the organization.
