Parental socialization of emotion : how mothers respond to their children's emotions in Turkey
Several research studies suggest a link between parents’ emotion socialization and
children’s social competence and behavior problems. Parents contribute to their
children’s emotion socialization, more directly, through responses to their children’s
emotions. Early emotion socialization experiences with parents establish patterns of
emotion experience, expression, and regulation that children carry into their broader
social circles. Few scales exist to document parents’ responses to children’s emotions.
The aim of this study was to document mothers’ responses to their children’s sadness,
anger, fear, and being overjoyed. A study sample of 868 mothers of preschoolers
completed the questionnaire in Turkey. The validity and reliability properties of the
Responses to Children’s Emotions (RCE) Questionnaire were also examined. We found
that mothers in Turkey preferred to respond differently to children’s different emotions.
Mothers’ responses generally did not differ according to the gender of their children; the
only difference was found for sadness. Mothers’ responses to their children’s emotions
related to the children’s and mothers’ ages, monthly family income, levels of mothers’
education, mothers’ employment status, birth order of children, and the city they lived
in. This study is important in that it is the first to document mothers’ emotion

PreschoolTeachers’ Emotional Awareness Levels and Their Responses to Children's Negative Emotions
AbstractThe purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between preschool teachers’ responses to children's negative emotions and their emotional awareness levels. The data was collected from 121 preschool teachers in spring 2013 by the Teachers’ Attitudes/Behaviors Questionnaire and the Toronto Alexithymia Scale-20. Preschool teachers indicated to use mostly problem focus, emotional regulation, label feeling, and behavior focus responses towards children's negative emotions. In addition, low emotional awareness level was negatively correlated with label feeling, emotional regulation, and problem focus responses. Difficulty describing feelings was positively correlated with punishment response. Educational programs teachers graduated from, teachers’ ages, and the number of years they worked were not related to the way they respond to children's negative emotions. As a result, teachers’ own emotional awareness levels are related to how they respond children's emotions
The First Structure Of Ankara Muhyiddin Mesud Mosque And Its Place In The Turkish Architecture
Protective effect of decorin on acute ischaemia-reperfusion injury in the rat kidney
Introduction: Transforming growth factor-beta 1 (TGF-beta 1) has a crucial role in collagen synthesis and fibrosis. TGF-beta 1 can be antagonized and/or reduced by the action of certain agents. We propose to identify the role of decorin in treatment of tubular and interstitial fibrosis and in the inhibition of TGF-beta 1 in an acute ischaemic kidney
