    Item does not contain fulltextPURPOSE: Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP-1R) is a molecular target for imaging of pancreatic beta cells. We compared the ability of [Nle(14),Lys(40)(Ahx-NODAGA-(64)Cu)NH2]-exendin-4 ([(64)Cu]NODAGA-exendin-4) and [Nle(14),Lys(40)(Ahx-NODAGA-(68)Ga)NH2]-exendin-4 ([(68)Ga]NODAGA-exendin-4) to detect native pancreatic islets in rodents. PROCEDURES: The stability, lipophilicity and affinity of the radiotracers to the GLP-1R were determined in vitro. The biodistribution of the tracers was assessed using autoradiography, ex vivo biodistribution and PET imaging. Estimates for human radiation dosimetry were calculated. RESULTS: We found GLP-1R-specific labelling of pancreatic islets. However, the pancreas could not be visualised in PET images. The highest uptake of the tracers was observed in the kidneys. Effective dose estimates for [(64)Cu]NODAGA-exendin-4 and [(68)Ga]NODAGA-exendin-4 were 0.144 and 0.012 mSv/MBq, respectively. CONCLUSION: [(64)Cu]NODAGA-exendin-4 might be more effective for labelling islets than [(68)Ga]NODAGA-exendin-4. This is probably due to the lower specific radioactivity of [(68)Ga]NODAGA-exendin-4 compared to [(64)Cu]NODAGA-exendin-4.     How do women with social risk factors experience United Kingdom maternity care? A realist synthesis

    Background Echoing international trends, the most recent United Kingdom reports of infant and maternal mortality found that pregnancies to women with social risk factors are over 50% more likely to end in stillbirth or neonatal death and carry an increased risk of premature birth and maternal death. The aim of this realist synthesis was to uncover the mechanisms that affect women's experiences of maternity care. Methods Using realist methodology, 22 papers exploring how women with a wide range of social risk factors experience maternity care in the United Kingdom were included. The data extraction process identified contexts (C), mechanisms (M), and outcomes (0). Results Three themes, Resources, Relationships, and Candidacy, overarched eight CMO configurations. Access to services, appropriate education, interpreters, practical support, and continuity of care were particularly relevant for women who are unfamiliar with the United Kingdom system and those living chaotic lives. For women with experience of trauma, or those who lack a sense of control, a trusting relationship with a health care professional was key to regaining trust. Many women who have social care involvement during their pregnancy perceive health care services as a system of surveillance rather than support, impacting on their engagement. This, as well as experiences of paternalistic care and discrimination, could be mitigated through the ability to develop trusting relationships. Conclusions The findings provide underlying theory and practical guidance on how to develop safe services that aim to reduce inequalities in women's experiences and birth outcomes

    Half-life, branching-ratio, and Q-value measurement for the superallowed 0(+) -> 0(+)beta(+) emitter Ti-42

    The half-life, the branching ratio, and the decay Q value of the superallowed beta emitter Ti-42 were measured in an experiment performed at the JYFLTRAP facility of the Accelerator Laboratory of the University of Jyvaskyla. Ti-42 is the heaviest T-z = -1 nucleus for which high-precision measurements of these quantities have been tried. The half-life (T-1/2 = 208.14 +/- 0.45 ms) and the Q value [Q(EC) = 7016.83(25) keV] are close to or reach the required precision of about 0.1%. The branching ratio for the superallowed decay branch [BR = 47.7(12)%], a by-product of the half-life measurement, does not reach the necessary precision yet. Nonetheless, these results allow one to determine the experimental ft value and the corrected Ft value to be 3114(79) and 3122(79) s, respectively

    Shape coexistence in the odd-odd nucleus 98Y^{98}\mathrm{Y}: The role of the g9/2{g}_{9/2} neutron extruder

    International audienceExcited states in 98^{98}Y, populated in neutron-induced fission of U235^{235} and in spontaneous fission of 248^{248}Cm and 252^{252}Cf, have been studied by means of Îł\gamma spectroscopy using the Lohengrin fission-fragment separator at ILL Grenoble and the EXILL, Eurogam2, and Gammasphere Ge arrays. Two new isomers have been found in 98^{98}Y: a deformed one with T1/2_{1/2}=180(7) ns and a rotational band on top of it, and a spherical one with T1/2_{1/2}=0.45(15)ÎŒs, analogous to the 8+^+ isomer in 96^{96}Y, corresponding to the (Îœg7/2,πg9/2_{9/2})8+^+ spherical configuration. Using the JYFLTRAP Penning trap, an accurate excitation energy of 465.7(7) keV has been determined for the 2.36-s isomer in 98^{98}Y. This result and the studies of excited levels in 98^{98}Zr, populated in ÎČ−^− decay of the isomer, indicate a new spin-parity, Iπ=(7)+^+ for the isomer. The high spin and the decay properties of this isomer suggest the presence of the 9/2+^+[404] neutron extruder orbital in its structure. This is consistent with the large deformation of the isomer, reported recently. The present work does not provide arguments to support the special role of the Îœg7/2-πg9/2_{9/2} interaction (the spin-orbit-partner, or SOP, mechanism)

    A prototype version of the BEta deLayEd Neutron detector, which is being developed for the FAIR/DESPEC experiment, has been used for the first time in an experiment at JYFL (Finland). This detector is based on 3He counters and its first run was primarily intended to commission the detector and verify the working principles for future experiments. A new triggerless DAQ has been developed for these measurements. This DAQ time-stamps the events and allows complete flexibility to construct correlations offline. An isotopically pure beam was obtained using the JYFLTRAP Penning trap setup at the IGISOL facility and it was implanted on a movable tape placed in the centre of the BELEN-20 detector. The measurements were performed for known delayed neutron emitters of interest for nuclear power generation: 88Br, 94,95Rb, 138I. The characteristics of the BELEN-20 detector and the first experiment at JYFL are presented in this paper.Peer ReviewedPostprint (published version
