    Angola renasce : um estudo sobre as perspectivas de ampliação das relações económicas entre Portugal e Angola

    O objetivo deste trabalho é a identificação dos produtos portugueses, a quatro dígitos da Nomenclatura Combinada (NC), com maiores perspetivas de ampliação de comércio em Angola, através da avaliação da competitividade exportadora portuguesa e do dinamismo importador angolano. Usamos o Índice de Vantagem Comparativa Revelada (IVCR) para analisar a competitividade exportadora portuguesa, e apuramos o dinamismo importador angolano através da avaliação daqueles produtos que apresentaram maior crescimento das importações, no período de referência deste estudo (2005 a 2009). Além disso, identificou-se o grau de intensidade tecnológica desses produtos com maior potencial de crescimento das exportações portuguesas para a Angola. A análise qualitativa desses produtos mostrou que eles são, na sua maioria, de média-baixa e média-alta intensidade tecnológica e residualmente de baixa tecnologia, não existindo commodities ou produtos com alta intensidade tecnológica. Outro aspecto importante deste estudo é a constatação que os produtos identificados pela metodologia utilizada já se encontram na pauta de exportações efetivas de Portugal para Angola, embora os produtos com maior IVCR não sejam necessariamente os produtos mais exportados.N/

    Effect of an educational nursing intervention on the mental adjustment of patients with chronic arterial hypertension: an interventional study

    The objective of this analytical and interventional prospective quantitative study was to assess the effect of an educational intervention performed by nurses for mental adjustment to chronic disease in patients with hypertension. A convenience sample was studied, composed of 329 participants with chronic hypertension, followed in a primary healthcare unit in the Central Region of Portugal. Data collection was carried out by applying the Mental Adjustment to Disease Scale (MADS) before and 1 month after the educational nursing intervention between September 2017 and February 2018. Prior to the application of the educational intervention, 43.5% of the participants were classified as “unadjusted” in at least one of the subscales of MADS. After the educational intervention, 21.3% of the participants classified as “unadjusted” became “adjusted” in all MADS subscales. The success rate of the intervention varied from 26.9% (in the fatalism subscale) to 44.6% (for the anxious concern subscale). Participants were more likely to be mentally “unadjusted” to hypertension if they lived with other family members, had an active professional situation before the diagnosis of hypertension, still had an active professional situation now, were under 65 years old, had a shorter time to diagnosis (1–2 years), and measured blood pressure less regularly. The educational intervention performed by nurses is relevant for the mental adjustment of hypertensive patients, contributing to increased knowledge, as well as improvement in preventive and self-care practices, facilitating the experience of the health/disease transition process.publishe

Household waste are part of the villain that links the destruction of the environment and depletion of natural resources, in addition to numerous problems. This study aimed to identify ways to dispose of, knowledge about household waste separation methods and disposal of these materials, used by the population of the city of Frederico Westphalen - RS, as well as environmental damage and correct ways to reduce these impacts with new methods of conscious consumption.     The learning process in a simulation context envisages the students to integrate a realistic situation probable in their professional future, in which they feel the difficulties, try to overcome them and acquires a real perception of the working environment. The greatest advantage of learning in a simulation context relies on the promotion of deep knowledge, since the student effectively participates in the scenario, instead of only being a passive element in the learning process [1]. In this work, a simulation of a pace maker implantation with imaging support requirement took place at the Clinical Simulation Centre of the University of Aveiro, "Simula", with the purpose of training future medical imaging professionals.     COMPOSTAGEM COMO ALTERNATIVA DE DESTINAÇÃO PARA O LODO FLOTADO DE ABATEDOURO DE FRANGOS

    Qualquer atividade humana leva à produção de resíduos, no entanto a sociedade exige continuamente a manutenção e melhoria das condições ambientais, onde diversas técnicas de reaproveitamento ou transformação de resíduos podem ser utilizadas. Uma das técnicas que vem sendo amplamente empregada é a compostagem, onde ocorre a degradação biológica, aeróbica ou anaeróbica de resíduos orgânicos, de modo a produzir uma substância húmica para condicionar o solo. Os abatedouros de frangos constituem-se de grandes fontes geradores de poluição principalmente das águas. Dessa forma o presente trabalho relata a aplicação da compostagem como forma de disposição do lodo gerado no tratamento de efluentes de um abatedouro de frangos. Foram aplicados três tratamentos diferenciados e avaliou-se alguns parâmetros como temperatura, odor, moscas, formigas, larvas na leira, chorume e larvas no chorume e umidade, pH, Nitrogênio, Fósforo, Carbono e potássio. Os resultados apresentaram-se satisfatórios, havendo para cada parâmetro suas particularidades em aspectos positivos e negativos

    Overexpression of Adenosine A2A receptors in rats: effects on depression, locomotion, and anxiety

No use, distribution or reproduction is permitted which does not comply with these terms.Adenosine A2A receptors (A2AR) are a sub-type of receptors enriched in basal ganglia, activated by the neuromodulator adenosine, which interact with dopamine D2 receptors. Although this reciprocal antagonistic interaction is well-established in motor function, the outcome in dopamine-related behaviors remains uncertain, in particular in depression and anxiety. We have demonstrated an upsurge of A2AR associated to aging and chronic stress. Furthermore, Alzheimer's disease patients present A2AR accumulation in cortical areas together with depressive signs. We now tested the impact of overexpressing A2AR in forebrain neurons on dopamine-related behavior, namely depression. Adult male rats overexpressing human A2AR under the control of CaMKII promoter [Tg(CaMKII-hA2AR)] and aged-matched wild-types (WT) of the same strain (Sprague-Dawley) were studied. The forced swimming test (FST), sucrose preference test (SPT), and the open-field test (OFT) were performed to evaluate behavioral despair, anhedonia, locomotion, and anxiety. Tg(CaMKII-hA2AR) animals spent more time floating and less time swimming in the FST and presented a decreased sucrose preference at 48 h in the SPT. They also covered higher distances in the OFT and spent more time in the central zone than the WT. The results indicate that Tg(CaMKII-hA2AR) rats exhibit depressive-like behavior, hyperlocomotion, and altered exploratory behavior.     Multicomponent systems with cyclodextrins and hydrophilic polymers for the delivery of Efavirenz

    AbstractEfavirenz (EFZ) is one of the most used drugs in the treatment of AIDS and is the first antiretroviral choice. However, since it has low solubility, it does not exhibit suitable bioavailability, which interferes with its therapeutic action and is classified as a class II drug according Biopharmaceutical Classification System (low solubility and high permeability). Among several drug delivery systems, the multicomponent systems with cyclodextrins and hydrophilic polymers are a promising alternative for increasing the aqueous solubility of the drug. The present study aimed to develop and characterize in a ternary system of EFZ, MβCD and PVP K30. The results showed that the solid ternary system provided a large increase in the dissolution rate which was greater than 80% and was characterized by DSC, TG, XRD, FT-IR and SEM. The use of the ternary system (EFZ, MβCD and PVP K30 1%) proved to be a viable, effective and safe delivery of the drug. The addition of the hydrophilic polymer appeared to be suitable for the development of a solid oral pharmaceutical product, with possible industrial scale-up and with low concentration of CDs (cyclodextrins)

    INDICATIVO DE CONTAMINAÇÃO AMBIENTAL POR METAIS PESADOS EM ATERRO SANITÁRIO

This fluid can contain heavy metals, suspended solids and organic compounds derived from the degradation of substances that are metabolized as carbohydrates, proteins and fats. By virtue of the place where you can reach and contaminate soil and surface and underground water resources, threatening the population living near the area. This study aimed to analyze the concentrations of heavy metals barium, copper and chromium in soil occupied by the landfill. To collect soil auger were performed on 10 different sites and depths. To determine the metal has been used the technique of fluorescence X-ray Energy Dispersive and with the aid of specialized software 10 were Surfer generating the data to the maps. All metals cited in this study indicate soil contamination at some sites and depths, highlighting the point 8 a share of 538.94 m, obtaining concentrations of barium, copper and chromium indicating relation of the surface flow and sub-surface water contaminated by these elements, with the results obtained it can be seen the potential of metal contamination in soil displaced by landfill.http://dx.doi.org/10.5902/2236130814441O chorume é um liquido escuro, que contém altas concentrações de compostos orgânicos e inorgânicos. Esse líquido pode conter metais pesados, sólidos suspensos e compostos orgânicos originados da degradação de substâncias que são metabolizadas, como carboidratos, proteínas e gorduras. Em virtude do local onde se encontra poderá atingir e contaminar o solo e recursos hídricos superficiais e subterrâneos, pondo em risco a população que vive nas proximidades da área. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo analisar as concentrações dos metais pesados bário, cobre e cromo em solo ocupado por aterro sanitário. Para coleta do solo foram realizadas tradagens em 10 diferentes pontos e profundidades. Para determinação dos metais foi utilizado a técnica de Fluorescência de Raios-X por Energia dispersiva e com auxilio do software Surfer 10 foram especializados os dados gerando-se os cartogramas. Todos os metais citados no presente trabalho indicam contaminação do solo em alguns pontos e profundidades, destacando-se o ponto 8 a uma cota de 538,94 m, obtendo concentrações de Bário, Cobre e Cromo indicando relação do fluxo superficial e sub superficial da água com contaminação por estes elementos, com os resultados obtidos pode-se constatar o potencial de contaminação por metais em solo ocupado pelo Aterro Sanitário
