On the high scientific quality of early research on strain and deformation fabrics (1835-1908)

High-quality research developed during the 19th century established the foundations of rock strain investigations. Careful observation and description of rock fabrics and deformed objects in rocks allowed early researchers to obtain mathematical expressions that are still used today to quantify strain. Thus, in a span of a few decades, and applying basic scientific methodology, these researchers developed the concept of the strain ellipsoid, defined mathematically the difference between constant-volume and volume-loss deformation, constructed the basic equations that define pure and simple shear deformation, and discovered the mechanism of pressure-solution deformation. These advances were fundamental to seminal works on strain analysis and deformation fabrics in the mid-20th century. However, they are rarely addressed in modern studies, which suggests a lack of awareness among current researchers. In order to bring attention to these landmarks of strain research, I provide a historical review of the high standards of analysis that led to the definition of the fundamental equations and concepts on strain during the 19th century.Fil: Torres Carbonell, Pablo Juan. Organic saffron business plan

Curs 2020/2021With this work, we intend to propose the creation of a company dedicated to the sowing, harvesting, production and marketing of organic saffron in Albacete in the province of Castilla de la Mancha, which is intended to be an innovative model in the area, where the client is an active participant in the process from the beginning. It is characterized by the sustainability, flavour and quality of the product, which is adjusted to the needs of the customer, always in harmony with legality, so that customer satisfaction is sought, in this case in particular hotels, restaurants, chains of supermarkets and food stores. It is recognized that despite the amount of skills that work in the vicinity of this, the proposed communication plan to make it known, will allow a personalized approach to potential customers which in a short, medium and long term, may need the product either sporadically or for a long time. So the Marketing Plan adjusted to the budget, will undoubtedly allow the feasibility of the implementation of this proposal for entrepreneurship

100 años de derechos : la primera mujer española doctora en física

En este año en el que se celebra el II Congreso Universitario Nacional “Investigación y Género” en la Universidad de Sevilla, se cumple el centenario de la Real Orden del Ministerio de Instrucción Pública y Bellas Artes por la que se permitía la “admisión de mujeres en todos los establecimientos docentes”, publicada en la Gaceta de Madrid en 1910, siendo Ministro de la Gobernación el Excmo. Sr. D. Julio Burrel y Cuéllar, durante el reinado de Alfonso XIII. Esta orden permitía a las mujeres la entrada en la universidad, que hasta entonces sólo había sido posible en casos individuales y con permisos especiales, en igualdad legal con el varón. En este contexto, esta Ponencia nace con la intención de celebrar esta efemérides en el campo científico, glosando la historia personal y profesional de la guipuzcoana Felisa Martín Bravo (San Sebastián, 1898), primera mujer española doctora en Física en nuestro país (Universidad Central de Madrid, 1926). Despues de desarrollar las ecuaciones básicas de equilibrio, se estudian las ecuaciones constitutivas utilizadas. El elemento usado es el hexaedrico de ocho nodos, del cual se establecen algunas propiedades, que serán de utilidad para la integración numérica. Cenozoic contractional tectonics in the Fuegian Andes, southernmost South America: a model for the transference of orogenic shortening to the foreland

The Fuegian thrust-fold belt has been subjected to significant shortening during the Cenozoic. Although contemporaneous shortening and uplift was also recognized in the Fuegian Andes central belt (hinterland), previous studies stated that most of that deformation developed out-of-sequence with the thrust-fold belt and hence did not contribute to its shortening. Therefore, no suitable geometric and kinematic model has been proposed for the mechanism that links deformation in both domains. Here we address the style and timing of the younger (Late Cretaceous-Paleogene) structures of the central belt and the structural evolution of the thrust-fold belt, based on published and own data. We reinterpret the style of the central belt structures, proposing a new model in which all the shortening in the foreland cover was caused by basement thrusting in the central belt. We postulate that the basement was involved in a regional-scale duplex whose roof thrust was the décollement of the thin-skinned thrust-fold belt. Therefore, the total slip transferred through the roof thrust accounted for the shortening in the cover rocks. The basement duplex incorporated the underthrust crust from the footwall of the orogenic wedge through forward propagation, in sequence with the thrust-fold belt from the Late Cretaceous to the Miocene.Fil: Torres Carbonell, Pablo Juan. Seguridad de la dosis del látex de synadenium grantti (euphorbiaceae) en el tratamiento de lesiones gástricas inducidas a rattus norvegicus var. albinus

El propósito de esta investigación fue determinar la seguridad de la dosis de látex de Synadenium grantii (Euphorbiaceae) en el tratamiento de lesiones gástricas de tipo inflamatorias, inducidas a Rattus norvegicus var. albinus. Para este estudio cuasi experimental, longitudinal y prospectivo, se trabajó con una muestra seleccionada de 30 especímenes divididos en 5 subgrupos a los que se administró 3 mL de tres diluciones de látex de Synadenium grantii (Euphorbiaceae) en dosis de V gotas (Grupo 1), IX gotas (Grupo 2) y XVIII gotas (Grupo 3) diluidas en 250 mL de agua destilada; 10 mg/5mL de Omeprazol (Grupo 4), y un grupo control con 4 mL de agua destilada (Grupo 5). Todos los especímenes recibieron las sustancias por vía sonda orogástrica. Las lesiones gástricas se analizaron a través de la evaluación macroscópica del estómago mediante la escala de Marhuenda. Y la seguridad del látex, se evaluó mediante la determinación de los efectos adversos y tasa de mortalidad. Según el análisis de los resultados, se determinó que la dosis de 3 mL (IX gotas/250 mL) de látex de Synadenium grantii (Euphorbiaceae) provocó un porcentaje de inhibición de lesiones gástricas inflamatorias del 6.25%; en comparación con Omeprazol, con un 40%. En esta misma dosis, el Synadenium grantii (Euphorbiaceae) administrado durante 5 días consecutivos provocó en el 60% de los especímenes (Grupo 2), un aumento en su frecuencia cardiaca. Concluyendo que la dosis de látex de Synadenium grantii (Euphorbiaceae) ha evidenciado no ser seguro como tratamiento de lesiones gástricas inflamatorias, inducidas por indometacina a Rattus norvegicus var. albinus., con efectos adversos a nivel cardiaco y en mucosa gástricaThe purpose of this investigation was to determine the safety of the latex dose of Synadenium grantii (Euphorbiaceae) in the treatment of inflammatory gastric lesions induced to Rattus norvegicus var. albinus. For this quasi-experimental, longitudinal and prospective study, we worked with a selected sample of 30 specimens divided into 5 subgroups to which 3 mL of three latex dilutions of Synadenium grantii (Euphorbiaceae) were administered in doses of V drops (Group 1) , IX drops (Group 2) and XVIII drops (Group 3) diluted in 250 mL of distilled water; 10 mg / 5mL of Omeprazole (Group 4), and a control group with 4 mL of distilled water (Group 5). All the specimens received the substances by orogastric tube. Gastric lesions were analyzed through macroscopic evaluation of the stomach using the Marhuenda scale. And the safety of latex was evaluated by determining the adverse effects and mortality rate. According to the analysis of the results, it was determined that the dose of 3 mL (IX drops / 250 mL) of Synadenium grantii (Euphorbiaceae) latex caused a percentage of inhibition of inflammatory gastric lesions of 6.25%; compared to Omeprazole, with 40%. At the same dose, Synadenium grantii (Euphorbiaceae) administered for 5 consecutive days caused 60% of the specimens (Group 2), an increase in their heart rate. Concluding that the latex dose of Synadenium grantii (Euphorbiaceae) has not been shown to be safe as a treatment for inflammatory gastric lesions induced by indomethacin to Rattus norvegicus var. albinus., with adverse effects on the heart and gastric mucosa.Tesi
