Measurement of xF3xF_3 and F2F_2 Structure Functions in Low Q2Q^2 Region with the IHEP-JINR Neutrino Detector

The isoscalar structure functions xF3xF_3 and F2F_2 are measured as functions of xx averaged over all Q2Q^2 permissible for the range of 6 to 28 GeV of incident neutrino (anti-neutrino) energy at the IHEP-JINR Neutrino Detector. The QCD analysis of xF3xF_3 structure function provides ΛMSˉ(4)=(411±200)\Lambda_{\bar{MS}}^{(4)} = (411 \pm 200) MeV under the assumption of QCD validity in the region of low Q2Q^2. The corresponding value of the strong interaction constant αS(MZ)=0.1230.013+0.010\alpha_S (M_Z) = 0.123^{+0.010}_{-0.013} agrees with the recent result of the CCFR collaboration and with the combined LEP/SLC result.Comment: 11 pages, 1 Postscript figure, LaTeX. Determination of the high-twist contribution to the structure function xF3νNxF^{\nu N}_3

We extract the high-twist contribution to the neutrino-nucleon structure function xF3(ν+νˉ)NxF_3^{(\nu+\bar{\nu})N} from the analysis of the data collected by the IHEP-JINR Neutrino Detector in the runs with the focused neutrino beams at the IHEP 70 GeV proton synchrotron. The analysis is performed within the infrared renormalon (IRR) model of high twists in order to extract the normalization parameter of the model. From the NLO QCD fit to our data we obtained the value of the IRR model normalization parameter Λ32=0.69±0.37 (exp)±0.16 (theor) GeV2\Lambda^2_{3}=0.69\pm0.37~({\rm exp})\pm0.16~({\rm theor})~{\rm GeV}^2. We also obtained Λ32=0.36±0.22 (exp)±0.12 (theor) GeV2\Lambda^2_{3}=0.36\pm0.22~({\rm exp})\pm0.12~({\rm theor})~{\rm GeV}^2 from a similar fit to the CCFR data. The average of both results is Λ32=0.44±0.19 (exp) GeV2\Lambda^2_{3}=0.44\pm0.19~({\rm exp})~{\rm GeV}^2.Comment: preprint IHEP-01-18, 7 pages, LATEX, 1 figure (EPS

This is a pre-copyedited author produced PDF of an article accepted for publication in Communications in Mathematical Physics, Benoit, V and Young, C, 'Cyclotomic Gaudin models: construction and Bethe ansatz', Commun. Math. Phys. (2016) 343:971, first published on line March 24, 2016. The final publication is available at Springer via http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/s00220-016-2601-3 © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2016To any simple Lie algebra g\mathfrak g and automorphism σ:gg\sigma:\mathfrak g\to \mathfrak g we associate a cyclotomic Gaudin algebra. This is a large commutative subalgebra of U(g)NU(\mathfrak g)^{\otimes N} generated by a hierarchy of cyclotomic Gaudin Hamiltonians. It reduces to the Gaudin algebra in the special case σ=id\sigma = \text{id}. We go on to construct joint eigenvectors and their eigenvalues for this hierarchy of cyclotomic Gaudin Hamiltonians, in the case of a spin chain consisting of a tensor product of Verma modules. To do so we generalize an approach to the Bethe ansatz due to Feigin, Frenkel and Reshetikhin involving vertex algebras and the Wakimoto construction. As part of this construction, we make use of a theorem concerning cyclotomic coinvariants, which we prove in a companion paper. As a byproduct, we obtain a cyclotomic generalization of the Schechtman-Varchenko formula for the weight function.Peer reviewe

Nonlinear polaritons in a monolayer semiconductor coupled to optical bound states in the continuum

Optical bound states in the continuum (BICs) provide a way to engineer very narrow resonances in photonic crystals. The extended interaction time in these systems is particularly promising for the enhancement of nonlinear optical processes and the development of the next generation of active optical devices. However, the achievable interaction strength is limited by the purely photonic character of optical BICs. Here, we mix the optical BIC in a photonic crystal slab with excitons in the atomically thin semiconductor MoSe2 to form nonlinear exciton-polaritons with a Rabi splitting of 27 meV, exhibiting large interaction-induced spectral blueshifts. The asymptotic BIC-like suppression of polariton radiation into the far field toward the BIC wavevector, in combination with effective reduction of the excitonic disorder through motional narrowing, results in small polariton linewidths below 3 meV. Together with a strongly wavevector-dependent Q-factor, this provides for the enhancement and control of polariton–polariton interactions and the resulting nonlinear optical effects, paving the way toward tuneable BIC-based polaritonic devices for sensing, lasing, and nonlinear optics

Total cross sections for Σ- and π- on beryllium, carbon, polyethylene and copper as well as total cross sections for protons on beryllium and carbon have been measured in a broad momentum range around 600GeV/c . These measurements were performed with a transmission technique in the SELEX hyperon-beam experiment at Fermilab. We report on results obtained for hadron-nucleus cross sections and on results for σtot(Σ-N) and σtot(π-N) , which were deduced from nuclear cross sections. © 2000 Elsevier Science B.V.57901/02/15277312Langland, J.L., (1995) Ph.D. Thesis, , University of IowaKleinfelder, S.A., (1988) IEEE Trans. The article is devoted to the substantiation of the methodology and comparative lexicostatistical analysis of sociolinguistic data obtained from the social network “VK”. New possibilities of research of verbal Internet communication, including sociolinguistic features of Internet users, are discussed. The primary attention in the paper is paid to the correlation between the age of social network users and lexical features of their texts. Based on the data obtained (about 8 million words), the text corpora of four age groups of social network users aged from 14 to 74 years old have been compiled. The authors have conducted a comparative analysis of the frequency wordlists and, first of all, identified the words that are often used in the texts of users of all four groups. This array generally correlates with the data from the frequency dictionary of the Russian language, although it also has significant differences. The article presents the lists of frequency words typical of each age group; ideographic characteristics of the word- lists (dominant thematic groups of words) and sociolinguistic comments are provided. Conclusions are made about lexical and conceptual differences between texts of different age groups of users, as well as about the productivity of statistical and ideographic analysis of social media texts
