This project describes the implementation of a Document Management System (DMS) in order to meet the requirements of ISO 9001:2008; necessary for quality management certification of enterprises. This system is important, especially for consultants in the area of Quality and Processes, because of the need to meet customers with the requirements of the Standard; in addition to providing a system to manage business documentation, which is safe, easy to manage, friendly for non-technical users and to facilitate its integration with the software infrastructure that the customer has. For this implementation, the use of Java was considered as it´s cross-platform language, the standard JCR (Java Content Repository) that manages the content repository, JSF as a framework for web interfaces, JPA as the persistence API that allows data persistence, besides other tools related to the aforementioned technologies. In this context, several alternatives were considered: since developing an own system toward the implementation of open code systems, not as complex or restricted, to be customized later, giving LogicalDOC as the best solution to implement. The implementation of the system allowed the customer to optimize several of its processes, and facilitates communication and collaboration of its users, through an efficient control and document management.

This article may be used for non-commercial purposes in accordance with ACS Terms and Conditions for Use of Self-Archived VersionsHere, we report the application of surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) spectroscopy as a rapid and practical tool for assessing the formation of coordinative adducts between nucleic acid guanines and ruthenium polypyridyl reagents. The technology provides a practical approach for the wash-free and quick identification of nucleic acid structures exhibiting sterically accessible guanines. This is demonstrated for the detection of a quadruplex-forming sequence present in the promoter region of the c-myc oncogene, which exhibits a nonpaired, reactive guanine at a flanking position of the G-quartetsWe are thankful for the financial support from the Xunta de Galicia (Centro singular de investigación de Galicia accreditation 2019-2022, ED431G 2019/03) and the European Union (European Regional Development Fund – ERDF). Pyridine Based Antitumour Compounds Acting at the Colchicine Site

    Get PDF
[EN]Antimitotics binding at the colchicine site of tubulin are important antitumour and vascular disrupting agents. Pyridines and azines are privileged scaffolds in medicinal chemistry and in recent years many colchicine site ligands (CSL) have incorporated them into their structures with the aim of improving their pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamics properties. CSL have been classified according to their chemical structures and the chemical structures of the pyridine and azine containing antimitotic compounds are described. The design principles behind the structural modifications and the achieved effect on the biological activity upon inclusion of these heterocycles are also discussed. Lessons from the achievements and failures have been extracted and future perspectives delineated

Substitution at the indole 3 position yields highly potent indolecombretastatins with reduced susceptibility to MDR resistance

[EN]Resistance to combretastatin A-4 is mediated by metabolic modification of the phenolic hydroxyl and ether groups of the 3-hydroxy-4-methoxyphenyl (B ring). Replacement of the B ring of combretastatin A-4 by a N-methyl-5-indolyl reduces tubulin polymerization inhibition (TPI) and cytotoxicity against human cancer cell lines but cyano, methoxycarbonyl, formyl, and hydroxyiminomethyl substitutions at the indole 3-position restores potent TPI and cytotoxicity against sensitive human cancer cell lines. These highly potent substituted derivatives displayed low nanomolar cytotoxicity against several human cancer cell lines due to tubulin inhibition, as shown by cell cycle analysis, confocal microscopy, and tubulin polymerization inhibitory activity studies and promoted cell killing mediated by caspase-3 activation. Binding at the colchicine site was suggested by molecular modeling studies. Substituted combretastatins displayed higher potencies than the isomeric isocombretastatins and the highest potencies were achieved for the hydroxyiminomethyl (21) and cyano (23) groups, with TPI values in the submicromolar range and cytotoxicities in the subnanomolar range. Dose-response and time-course studies showed that drug concentrations as low as 1 nM (23) or 10 nM (21) led to a complete G2/M cell cycle arrest after 15 h treatment followed by a high apoptosis-like cell § These authors contributed equally to this work. 3 response after 48-72 h treatment. The P-glycoprotein and calcium antagonist verapamil increased 21 and 23 cytotoxicity to IC50 values of 10-10 M, and highly potentiated the cytotoxic activity in 100-fold of the CHO derivative (17), in A549 human non-small cell lung cancer cells. The differences in cytotoxic potency observed between the highly potent cyano (23) and hydroxyiminomethyl (21) groups and other substituents with similar TPI values (17) were very much reduced upon co-treatment with verapamil. A 3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl ring always afforded more potent derivatives than a 2,3,4-trimethoxyphenyl ring

Semantic recovery of traceability links between system artifacts

This paper introduces a mechanism to recover traceability links between the requirements and logical models in the context of critical systems development. Currently, lifecycle processes are covered by a good number of tools that are used to generate different types of artifacts. One of the cornerstone capabilities in the development of critical systems lies in the possibility of automatically recovery traceability links between system artifacts generated in different lifecycle stages. To do so, it is necessary to establish to what extent two or more of these work products are similar, dependent or should be explicitly linked together. However, the different types of artifacts and their internal representation depict a major challenge to unify how system artifacts are represented and, then, linked together. That is why, in this work, a concept-based representation is introduced to provide a semantic and unified description of any system artifact. Furthermore, a traceability function is defined and implemented to exploit this new semantic representation and to support the recovery of traceability links between different types of system artifacts. In order to evaluate the traceability function, a case study in the railway domain is conducted to compare the precision and recall of recovery traceability links between text-based requirements and logical model elements. As the main outcome of this work, the use of a concept-based paradigm to represent that system artifacts are demonstrated as a building block to automatically recover traceability links within the development lifecycle of critical systems. The research leading to these results has received funding from the H2020 ECSEL Joint Undertaking (JU) under Grant Agreement No. 826452 \Arrowhead Tools for Engineering of Digitalisation Solutions" and from speci¯c national programs and/or funding authorities
