The Covid-19 pandemic is affecting the whole education system including the preschoolers in Malaysia in receiving a proper teaching and learning lesson especially in the classroom. Movement Control Order (MCO) implemented by the government has restricted the act for each person in the daily life. However, the action and role that has been played by the preschool administrators, teachers and parents in ensuring the smoothness of the teaching and learning process of the preschoolers should be recognized. This study focuses on the responses and roles that have been conducted and given by the preschool management and teacher as well as parents in assisting their preschoolers children during the MCO period. This study also determined the reaction played by the preschoolers in adapting the new norm act according to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) given by the government. A qualitative research design by using observation and interview based on the responses given by ten randomly chosen among preschool parents, teachers and administrators in a government preschool in Johor, Malaysia were used in this study. Phenomenology research was conducted to investigate the experience that has been gone through by the informants of the study during the MCO period. Narrative writing analysis were used to explain the outcome. This study indicated that the preschool administrators and teachers were able to collaborate and conduct an excellent code of practice according to the SOPs given by the government. Meanwhile, parents were able to establish a strong communication with the administrators and teachers by following the SOPs and assist the preschool management in ensuring their children are following the new norm acts according to the SOPs. A strong collaboration between all parties involved has shown a good example to the preschoolers during the pandemic MCO period

For a high quantity production system such as PROTON, maintenance of equipments and related facilities at the production line is one of the critical factors to ensure the success of Just In Time system (JIT) and Synchronised System. A higher breakdown of equipments will affect the delivery to next processes and uncertain level of quality. This project focused on body assembly process where this process is the second process in Proton cars manufacturing process. It features a mix of a variety type of welding assembly jig, welding equipments, material handling equipments and robots. A demand arises when the spare part of existing welding assembly jig - Cooling Jig is not available and extensive maintenance is required in maintaining the Cooling Jig. This project focus on re-modelled and fabrication of Cooling Jig. The fabrication process needs information on surface data instead of detail drawing. But, the information such as surface data is not available in Jig Making & Maintenance (JMM) section. The surface data is obtained thorough digitising process with coordinate measuring machine and produced the Cloud point data in a neutral data format (ASCII format). Then, Catia software was used to convert the file into DXF format. The Cooling Jig's surface was obtained first before NC data conversion can be generated. The fabrication of Cooling Jig is using EDM wire cut. Prior to machining, the Design of Experiment (DOE) was used as a method to obtain the optimum machining time and wire breakage without carrying numerous numbers of experiments at EDM Wire Cut machine - R290P, Agie Charmilles. As a result, the In-House fabrication process reduced almost 60 % fabrication cost if outsourced and successfully forged a reverse engineering flows for JMM section

    Get PDF
The paper describes underlying ideas and operation of the natural language processor, which is a part of the Dialog Information Logical System (DILOS; Computer Center of the USSR Academy of Sciences, Moscow). The natural language comprehension is assumed to be performed within: (a) general context, determined by the whole system purpose; (b) some local context, connected with current data base. The basic parts of the processor are described: the main program, transition network and current vocabulary as well as special mechanisms provided for tackling homonymy and words, unknown to the system. Some suggestions are proposed for combining the existing system with a system with a syntactical analyzer

    Information-rich surface metrology

    Get PDF
Information-rich metrology refers to the incorporation of any type of available information in the data acquisition and processing pipeline of a measurement process, in order to improve the efficiency and quality of the measurement. In this work, the information-rich metrology paradigm is explored as it is applied to the measurement and characterisation of surface topography. The advantages and challenges of introducing heterogeneous information sources in the surface characterisation pipeline are illustrated. Examples are provided about the incorporation of structured knowledge about a part nominal geometry, the manufacturing processes with their signature topographic features and set-up parameters, and the measurement instruments with their performance characteristics and behaviour in relation to the specific properties of the surfaces being measured. A wide array of surface metrology applications, ranging from product inspection, to surface classification, to defect identification and to the investigation of advanced manufacturing processes, is used to illustrate the information-rich paradigm

Shape descriptors and statistical classification on areal topography data for tile inspection in tessellated surfaces

    Get PDF
Verification of conformance to design specifications in production, and identification of defects related to wear or other damage during maintenance, are key metrological aspects that must be addressed for micro-scale tessellated surfaces. A new algorithmic approach is presented that operates on topography datasets as obtained by areal topography instruments. The approach combines segmentation algorithms with a novel implementation of the angular radial transform, originally adopted by the MPEG-7 standard, to implement shape descriptors and associated similarity metrics. Applications to the inspection and verification of laser-manufactured micro-embossing topographies are illustrated. The topographies are first segmented to extract the individual tiles; the tiles are then encoded through shape descriptors. Principal component analysis and cluster analysis are used to investigate the behaviour of the angular radial transform coefficients. Finally, an algorithmic classifier based on supervised learning (k-nearest neighbours) is implemented and shown to be effective at identifying defects and at discriminating between defect types

    Get PDF
This study gives an overview on the advantages of Curculigo Latifolia as an alternative sweetener and a health product. The purpose of this research is to provide another option to the people who suffer from diabetes. In this research, Curculigo Latifolia was chosen, due to its unique properties and widely known species in Malaysia. In order to obtain the sweet protein from the fruit, it must go through a couple of procedures. First we harvested the fruits from the Curculigo trees that grow wildly in the garden. Next, the Curculigo fruits were dried in the oven at 50 0C for 3 days. Finally, the dried fruits were blended in order to get a fine powder. Curculin is a sweet protein with a taste-modifying activity of converting sourness to sweetness. The curculin content from the sample shown are directly proportional to the mass of the Curculigo fine powder. While the FTIR result shows that the sample spectrum at peak 1634 cm–1 contains secondary amines. At peak 3307 cm–1 contains alkynes
