    Multiple Intelligences-Based Instructional Strategy of English Academic Writing Skill Instruction (MIB-IS of EAWSI): A Classroom Action Research at One of Indonesia Senior High School

    This study is focused on the implementation of Multiple Intelligences-Based Instructional Strategy (MIB-IS) to improve students English Academic Writing Skill Instruction (EAWSI). It uses Classroom Action Research (CAR). There are four steps in this CAR: (1) plan, (2) action, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. Multiple Intelligences-Based Instructional Strategy (MIB-IS) can improve Senior High School students’ academic writing (argumentative essay writing) in eight students’ intelligences (linguistic, logical-mathematical, spatial, bodily-kinesthetic, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and naturalist) following the writing process of creating, outlining, drafting, and polishing. The process of academic writing instruction through MIB-IS will be more effective if the students are able to be more active in following every single step of writing process to hit the big issues of content, organization, unity, coherence, logic and the smaller issues of grammar, sentence-structure, punctuation, and spelling. And by giving an academic writing exercise in every phase of instruction is really important to improve students’ argumentative essay writing skill for students to master the concepts comprehensively and integrated properly. And so, the school as an educational institution must prepare its students to go to the university by the capability of supporting MIB-IS implementation in academic writing instruction as an effective English instructional strategy

    THE EFFECT OF LEARNING APPROACH AND READING INTEREST TOWARD STUDENTS NARRATIVE WRITING ACHIEVEMENT

    The aim of this research is to know the different kinds of instructional approaches (process skill and goals oriented) found in the process of learning narrative writing. The use of different instructional approaches gave different results on students achievement in narrative writing. Students who have different reading interests also showed different achievement in narrative writing. These two variables have a relationship in implementing instructional approach and reading interest. It showed that the testing result of interaction between the variables of process skill and goals oriented instructional approaches to narrative writing achievement is possible. It can be concluded that the use of different instructional approach (process skill and goals oriented) give different final results. The same result is also done to students who have different reading interests as they will give different narrative writing achievements

    Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimanakah politik hukum pidana tentang denda di Indonesia dan bagaimanakah prospek pidana denda dalam sistem pemidanaan di Indonesia.  Dengan menggunakan metode penelitian yuridis normatif, maka dapat disimpulkan: 1. Penggunaan pidana denda dalam ketentuan pidana dalam perundang-undangan administrasi, yang ditentukan oleh lembaga legislatif adalah tepat, baik dalam rumusan tunggal terutama dikenakan pada korporasi maupun alternatif dari pidana kebebasan kemerdekaan dan bahkan sanksi denda tunggal pada konsep KUHP, maupun akumulasi pemidanaan dalam tindak pidana korupsi. Tidak dapat dipungkiri juga dalam politik hukum pidana dalam undang-undang, legislator masih menjadikan pidana penjara sebagai primadona. Hukum pidana nasional itu lebih bersifat formal dan belum mempunyai arti hukum pidana nasional yang bersifat materiil, karena dasar pikirannya adalah asas-asas hukum pidana berdasarkan pada ilmu hukum pidana dan praktik pada jaman kolonial. 2. Untuk mengefektifkan pidana denda sebagai alternatif lain khususnya dalam hal penjatuhan pidana perampasan kemerdekaan jangka pendek, perlu dicarikan modus yang tepat agar pidana denda dapat dirasakan sebagai pidana oleh terpidana.     ABSTRAK Penelitian ini di laksanakan di salah satus ekolah dasar negeri yang terletak di Kecamatan Sukasari Kota Bandung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS dengan menerapkan model Quantum Teachingsiswakelas III sekolahdasar. Metode yang digunakandalampenelitianiniadalahPenelitianTindakanKelas (PTK) yang mengadaptasi model Kemmis& Mc. Taggart denganduasiklus. Teknikpengumpulan data yang digunakanadalahlembarevaluasi(tesakhir), lembarobservasidandokumentasi.Adapunsubjekdalampenelitininiadalahsemuasiswakelas III denganjumlahsiswa 40 orang.Penelitianinidilatarbelakangiolehhasilbelajar IPS yang masihtergolongrendahkarenamasihdibawahkriteriaketuntasan minimal (KKM) yaitu 70.Hal inidilihatdarinilaiUjian Tengah Semester, siswa yang mendapatkannilaidiatas KKM sebesar 50% sementara 50% nyamasihdibawah KKM. Hasilpenelitiandenganmenggunakan model Quantum Teachingmenunjukanadanyapeningkatanhasilbelajarsiswa, terlihatpadasiklus I siswayang tuntassebanyak 29 orang atau 72,5% dansiklus II meningkatlagimenjadi 35 orang yang tuntasatau 87,5%. Jadikesimpulannyaadalahpenerapan model Quantum Teachingpadapembelajaran IPS dapatmeningkatkanhasilbelajarsiswa. Sebagairekomendasidarisemuapihak yang terkait, bahwa model pembelajaranQuantum Teaching ini sangat membantu dalam meningkatkan mutu dan kualitas pembelajaran

    COMPETENCE IN WRITING ENGLISH BASED ON USING AND WITHOUT USING PICTURE IN TEACHING JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

    The objective of the study is to described (1) the extent of students writing ability based on picture; (2) the extent of students writing ability without using picture; and (3) to describe the differences of students writing competence based on picture and without picture. This study was applied two post test and required two randomly assigned groups of sample, each group is designed to a different condition, no pre-test used. The instruments are a sequence of picture and a topic without picture, in which one group is given a topic by providing a sequence of picture and the other is given a topic without picture. There are two different topic given, those are, for writing based on picture, with topic „sending a parcel‟ and for writing without using picture, with the topic „going to the beach‟. The sample of this study is Class VIIIB. The students composition are scored by two raters who are the English teacher taught at class VIII and the writer himself. The students composition are rated randomly in the process of inter-rater agreement. Both raters rated the students writing composition independently in order to know the coefficient correlation of both raters in scoring the students composition. The result of the study showed that (1) the average score of students composition in writing based on picture of the three components are classified at „fair to poor‟ level; (2) the average score of students composition in writing without using picture for content aspect is classified at „very poor‟ level and for organization and vocabulary aspects are classified at „fair to poor‟ level; and (3) from the computation of the t-test was found that the t-test is only 0.64.Key Words: Competence in writing English, instructional media (using picture and without usingpicture), and teaching Junior High School students

    PENANGKAPAN TERHADAP ORANG YANG DIDUGA MELAKUKAN TINDAK PIDANA TERORISME MENURUT PASAL 28 UNDANG-UNDANG NOMOR 5 TAHUN 2018 TENTANG PERUBAHAN ATAS UNDANG-UNDANG NOMOR 15 TAHUN 2003

    Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana penangkapan menurut peraturan perundangan tentang pemberantasan tindak pidana terorisme di Indonesia dan bagaimana penangkapan dalam peraturan perundangan tentang pemberantasan tindak pidana terorisme dilihat dari aspek manfaat dan hak asasi manusia. Dengan menggunakan metode penelitian yuridis normatif, disimpulkan: 1. Penangkapan menurut Pasal 28 Undang-Undang Pemberantasan Tindak Pidana Terorisme (Undang-Undang Nomor 15 Tahun 2003 juncto Perppu Nomor 1 Tahun 2002) sebagaimana telah diubah dengan Nomor 5 Tahun 2018, merupakan penangkapan dengan jangka waktu  paling lama 14 hari oleh Penyidik yang dapat diperpanjang paling lama 7 hari oleh Ketua Pengadilan Negeri yang wilayah hukumnya meliputi tempat kedudukan Penyidik. Jangka waktu ini lebih lama dari pada penangkapan menurut KUHAP yang hanya 1 hari dan penangkapan menurut Undang-Undang Nomor 15 Tahun 2003 juncto Perppu Nomor 1 Tahun 2002 yang paling lama 7 hari (7 X 24 jam). 2. Penangkapan dalam dugaan tindak pidana terorisme dari aspek manfaat memiliki arti manfaat yang penting yaitu mencegah terjadinya tindak pidana terorisme atau mencegah tersangka mengulangi perbuatan terorisme; dan dari aspek hak asasi manusia masih dapat dibenarkan oleh ketentuan Pasal 28J UUD 1945 yaitu pembatasan terhadap kebebasan perseorangan yang ditentukan dalam undang-undang untuk menjamin pengakuan serta penghormatan atas hak  kebebasan orang lain  dan untuk memenuhi tuntutan  yang adil sesuai  dengan  pertimbangan  moral, nilai-­nilai  agama, keamanan, dan ketertiban umum dalam suatu masyarakat demokratis.Kata kunci: Penangkapan, Orang Yang Diduga, Tindak Pidana Terorism

In ENT, there are two types of marungga, namely green and red marungga, which have been registered at the Center for Protection and Registration of Plant Varieties in 2019. The ENT Regional Government has compiled a Road map to develop marungga as a superior commodity. However, the development of marungga must be followed by optimal product utilization. Therefore, the purpose of writing this paper is to review marungga as a source of functional food so that people understand the importance of consuming marungga for health. This paper contains: 1) the physical characteristics of the red and green marungga from ENT; 2) The nutritional potential of marungga functional food; 3) Physiochemical properties of marungga; 4) Processed products of marungga as functional food. Based on the results of the review, marungga is a functional food commodity that is rich in functional bioactive compounds, such as phenolic acid, flavonoids, alkaloids, phytosterols, natural sugars, vitamins, minerals, and organic acids. These compounds make marungga have pharmacological properties such as anti-cancer, anti-diabetes, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. If it is related to cases of malnutrition, ENThas the highest rate of malnutrition in Indonesia. So it is expected that the content of 40 essential nutrients in marungga can be used as complementary foods for malnutrition children

    CLUSTERING SEBARAN ALUMNI PROGRAM STUDI SISTEM INFORMASI POLITEKNIK NEGERI NUSA UTARA

    Teknologi database saat ini memungkinkan untuk menyimpan sejumlah data dalam jumlah yang sangat besar dan terakumulasi namun disinilah awal timbulnya persoalan dengan semakin banyaknya data, seperti pada Program Studi Sistem Informasi Politeknik Negeri Nusa Utara. Oleh sebab itu sangat penting untuk mengetahui sebaran mahasiswa dengan menggunakan tracer alumni, sehingga data yang ada dapat dipakai guna mengelompokkan sebaran mahasiswa berdasarkan kesamaan ciri dari data menggunakan metode k-means clustering. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memudahkan menganalisis pengelompokan sebaran mahasiswa. Data tracer tersebut diperoleh data alumni yang ada pada Program Studi Sistem Informasi, berdasarkan data alumni yang ada informasi yang tersembuyi dapat diketahui dengan cara melakukan pengolahan terhadap data tersebut sehingga berguna bagi pihak Program Studi Sistem Informasi. Penelitian ini mengenalisis Tracer Alumni Program Studi Sistem Informasi dari angkatan 2006 sampai dengan angkatan 2015 dengan menggunakan algoritma k-means clustering menggunakan microsoft excel. Attribut yang digunakan adalah domisili, waktu masuk, waktu wisuda dan waktu tunggu kerja. Cluster yang terbentuk adalah dua cluster. Hasil dari penelitian ini digunakan sebagai salah satu dasar pengambilan keputusan untuk menentukan strategi promosi berdasarkan cluster yang terbentuk oleh pihak Program Studi Sistem Informasi Politeknik Negeri Nusa Utara.   In this era database technology makes it possible to store a large amount of data and accumulates, but this is where the beginning of the problem arises with the increasing number of data, such as in Polytechnic State of Nusa Information System Study Program. That’s way it I was very important to know the distribution of students use alumni tracers, so the available data can be used to classify student distribution based on the similarity of features of the data using the K-means Clustering Method. This study aims make easy analyze distribution of student distribution. Tracer data is obtained alumni data in the Information Systems Study Program, based on existing alumnus, and the hidden data about information can be known by processing it so it is useful for the Information Systems Study Program. This research introduces Information Systems Study Program Alumni Tracer from class of 2006 to the class of 2015 used the K-Means Clustering Algorithm by used Microsoft Excel. The attributes were used domicile, time of entry, graduation time and waiting time for work. Clusters were formed two clusters. The results of this study were used as a basic to made decision to determine promotion strategies based on clusters formed by the Polytechic State of Nusa Utara in Information System Study Program

    Essay Materials Development by Genre Based-Process Model

    This study aims to investigate students’ essay writing skill improved by implementing appropriate teaching materials development and suitable approach model of instruction. Participants were students who attend essay writing subject matter. The research and development method implemented consist of survey method for identifying lecturer’s needs, content analysis method for finding out appropriate essay writing teaching materials development, expert review method for knowing appropriate level of essay writing teaching materials development, and experiment method for testing the effectivity of implementing essay writing teaching materials development and genre based-process approach model of instruction. The study results showed that a) the existing essay writing teaching materials development are not compatible with students’ and lecturer’s needs, especially in terms of input, text types, and the kinds of topics and activities; b) there is a need for developing a new set of essay writing teaching materials development based on genre based-process approach model of instruction; c) the new essay writing teaching materials development are considered adequate enough by the experts but they still needs some revisions; d) the new essay writing teaching materials development are effective enough in improving students’ essay writing skill; e) the final essay writing teaching materials development product must be students book, workbook, and lecturer manual. This new essay writing teaching materials development can be well implemented by using genre based-process approach model of instruction
