Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Soybean is one of the legume crops and is the world's main source of protein and vegetable oil. Calcium is one of the essential elements needed by plants for growth and production. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of calcium fertilizer on the growth and production of soybeans. This research was carried out from November 2020 to February 2021. The method in this study was a non-factorial randomized block design (RAK) with 4 types of calcium fertilizer treatments: 0 g/polybag (C0), 0.375 g/polybag (C1), 0.525 g/polybag (C2) and 0.865 g/polybag (C3). The results showed that calcium fertilizer had an effect on the number of pods, weight of pods, weight of filled pods, and weight of seeds. The calcium fertilizer treatment that gave the best results on the growth and production of soybeans was found in the C2 treatment at a dose of 0.525 g

In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 302-308.  Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Ogan Ilir Regency is one of the lime (Citrus aurantifolia swingle) producing areas in South Sumatera, with farmers who grow lime as a household garden business for their daily life, now turning to the plantation business. However, the lack of attention from the owner in the sustainability of this plantation, so that plantation processing does not get optimal results. This survey activity aimed to determine the management of lime plantations in Palem Raya Village, Tanjung Pering Village, and Seribandung Village. The method used is direct interviews with the perpetrators and the lime garden cultivation. The results of the survey that we conducted in the 3 villages showed that lime plants experienced less than optimal productivity in terms of fruit and stem growth because they were not taken care of by their owners. Lack of care by garden owners such as not cleaning new shoots so that plants absorb nutrients optimally, applying fertilizers are not in accordance with plant needs, and pests that attack limes such as fruit flies, aphids and leafhoppers. The conclusion from this survey is the productivity of the citrus plantations in the 3 villages is less than optimal, where in the three locations the fruit produced is still experiencing a lot of damage because it is not taken care of. The advice we can give is for lime plantation farmers to do more maintenance by clearing the land, giving fertilizers at the right dose and time, and giving pesticides regularly. So that optimal product results are obtained

This study used a non-factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD), namely the formulation of natural anaerobic robusta coffee, gambier catechin crude extract and young areca nut powder. Each treatment was repeated 3 times. Each treatment was as follows: 100% natural anaerobic robusta coffee: 0% crude catechin gambier extract: 0% young betel nut powder; 89% natural anaerobic robusta coffee: 7% crude extract of gambier catechins: 4% young areca nut powder; 86% natural anaerobic robusta coffee: 7% crude extract of gambier catechins: 7% young areca nut powder; 83% natural anaerobic robusta coffee: 7% raw extract of gambier catechins: 10% young areca nut powder; 80% natural anaerobic robusta coffee: 7% crude extract of gambier catechins: 13% powdered areca nut. The parameters observed in this study were chemical characteristics (pH, total phenol, antioxidant activity, water content and ash content), physical characteristics (colour) and sensory tests (color, taste and aroma). The results showed that the addition of gambier catechin extract and powdered areca nut significantly affected the color (lightness (L*), redness (a*), yellowness (b*)), total phenol and antioxidant activity. The best treatment was a combination of natural anaerobic robusta coffee 80%: 7% gambier catechin crude extract: young areca nut 13% based on antioxidant activity and total phenol with characteristic pH 5.21, total phenol 171.07 mgGAE/g, antioxidant activity 23.28 ppm, 7.17% water content and 5.98% ash content

(pp. 78-87).  Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Sandy soil, which is porous and has a very low water holding capacity, is the main obstacle to increasing soil fertility and the growth of sweet corn plants. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of several types of ameliorants in increasing the growth and uptake of NP nutrients by sweet corn plants in sandy soil. The research was conducted in Moncok Karya, Pejeruk Karya Village, Ampenan District, and Mataram City from May to July 2023. The experiment was arranged using a randomized block design consisting of five ameliorant treatments, namely PO: Control (without ameliorant), PA: rice husk charcoal, PK: compost, PS: cow manure, and PC: a mixture of rice husk charcoal, compost, and cow manure (1:1:1) with a dose of 20 tons/ha. The results showed that the mixture of ameliorant rice husk charcoal, compost, and cow manure had an effect on the height and number of leaves of sweet corn plants at 2, 4, and 6 WAP, stover weight per plant, nutrient uptake, and mycorrhizal development. Application of 20 tons per ha of mixed ameliorant increased plant height, number of leaves, the concentration of available P, and total N in the soil, N and P uptake by plants, the number of spores and root colonization, and the weight of wet and dry stover plants in sandy soil. Amelioran formulation of a mixture of 25% cow manure + 25% compost + 25% rice husk charcoal provides the highest concentration of soil nutrients, plant nutrient uptake, and growth of sweet corn

The purpose of this study was to determine and determine the effectiveness of Compound NPK Fertilizers and Guano Fertilizers which gave the best response to growth and increased production of zucchini (Cucurbita pepo L.) plants. The research has been carried out in one of the resident’s lands. Location in Perumnas Talang Kelapa Block 3 RT 61 NO. 41 RW 08 Alang-Alang Lebar Subdistrict, Palembang City, Sounth Sumatra in March until  with May 2022. This study used a Split Plot Design with 9 treatment combinations which were repeated 3 times, resulting, in 27 treatment units with 3 sample plants. These are as follows: Main Plot For Compound NPK Fertilizer (N) consisting of 3 levels N1= 150 kg/ha, N2= 200 kg/ha, N3 = 250 kg/ha. Sub-plots for providing Guano Fertilizer (O)= terdin of 3 levels O1= 2,5 tons/ha, O2= 5 tons/ha, O3= 7,5 tons/ha. The variables observed were: plant height (cm), fruit diameter (cm), fruit length (cm), number of fruit per plot (fruit), fruit weight per plot (kg). The results showed that the treatment of compound NPK Fertilizer dosage of 250 kg/ha with Guano Fertilizer at a dose of 5 tons/ha gave the highest yield at fruit weight per plot 3,16 kg/plot or the equivalent of 6,32 tons/ha

Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Utilization of red dragon fruit peels in water kefir making was one kind of optimizing dragon fruit by-products in the diversification of probiotic functional drinks. This study aimed to determine the effect of the algae crystal starter concentration and fermentation time on the physical, chemical, and microbiological characteristics of red dragon fruit peels water kefir. This study used a factorial Completely Randomized Design and significantly different treatments were tested using a further test of 5% level of Honest Significant Difference. Parameters observed were total phenol, antioxidant activity, total titrated acid, total dissolved solids, pH, total lactic acid bacteria, total plate count and qualitative phytochemical screening. The results showed that the fermentation time significantly affected the total phenol value, antioxidant activity, total acid, dissolved solids, pH, and total lactic acid bacteria. Water kefir fermented with 10% starter concentration for 24 hours had the highest antioxidant activity expressed in %IC50. Meanwhile, fermented water kefir with 5% starter concentration for 12 hours showed the lowest antioxidant activity. A2B2 treatment was chosen as the best treatment with a total phenol value of 0.0969 mg/GAE mL, the lowest IC50 value 53.96%, total acid 0.21%, soluble solids 9.57ºBrix, pH 4.4, total lactic acid bacteria 7.27 log CFU /mL

    Tujuan: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) salah satu gangguan fungsi ginjal dimana ginjal tidak mampu menyaring darah dan mengganggu keseimbangan cairan dan elektrolit sehingga memerlukan penanganan lebih lanjut terhadap terapi hemodialisis. Pasien gagal ginjal kronis dapat bertahan hidup dengan bantuan hemodialisis. Pasien CKD memiliki pengalaman serta respon terhadap sakit yang berbeda, hidup akan ketakutan dengan kematian dan selalu bergantung dengan alat hemodialisis, keluarga maupun petugas kesehatan, sehingga akan berakibat pada kualitas hidup pasien CKD. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasi hubungan lamanya menjalankan hemodialisa terhadap kualitas hidup pasien Chronic kidney disease (CKD) Metode: Metode penelitian menggunakan cross sectional. Populasi seluruh pasien CKD. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 42 pasien dan dianalisis menggunakan uji chi square. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan kuesioner. Hasil: Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa Analisa univariat lamanya menjalankan hemodialisa 42 responden (100%) terdapat responden yang telah lama menjalankan Hemodialisa 12 bulan sebanyak 18 orang (42,9%).sedangakan Analisa bivariat didapatkan dari Hasil uji chi square didapatkan p value = 0,000 sehingga didapatkan ada hubungan yang siqnifikan antara lamanya menjalankan hemodialisa dengan kualitas hidup pasien Chronic Kidney Disease Kesimpulan: Semakin baik kualitas hidup pasien maka pasien akan patuh dalam menjalankan terapi hemodialisa, diharapkan peran petugas Kesehatan dan kelurga untuk memberikan dukungan dan motivasi sehingga dapat meningkatkan kualitas hidup yang baik bagi pasien. This pathogen can infect at least 408 plant species worldwide. This field practice aims to determine the percentage level and intensity of attack and identify the cause of wilt disease in eggplant in Tanjung Pering Village, North Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra Province. The method used in this field practice is carried out by conducting a survey or direct observation in the field to calculate the percentage level and intensity of wilt disease attack on eggplant, then identification is carried out at the Phytopathology Laboratory of the Department of Pests and Plant Diseases, and infectious tests are carried out in experimental land to prove pathogens. cause of wilt disease in eggplant. The results of this field, the cause of wilt disease in eggplant in Tanjung Pering Village, North Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency is caused by the fungus Fusarium sp with an average percentage of wilt disease of 42.54% and an average intensity of wilt disease of 40.90% in the field

    Tujuan: Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat (PHBS) adalah kebiasaan berprilaku positif yang dilakukan anak-anak dalam memperkuat kebiasaan hidup sehat dalam mencegah penyakit, meningkatkan kesehatan dan berperan aktif menjaga lingkungan sekitarnya. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini berfokus pada perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat (PHBS) pada anak usia sekolah supaya mendapatkan manfaat dari pembelajaran pengalaman dengan metode menonton video animasi mengenai PHBS dan demonstrasi dan praktek langsung. Metode: kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan kelompok anak usia sekolah sebanyak 23 orang. Penelitian ini dengan melakukan pretest pada anak usia sekolah, pemberian materi mengenai PHBS melalui metode video animasi dan melakukan demonstrasi dan praktek langsung PHBS berupa cuci tangan, kebersihan diri dan lingkungan dan melakukan evaluasi dari hasil kegiatan berupa posttest. Hasil: dengan menggunakan kuesioner menunjukkan adanya pengetahuan anak usia sekolah sebesar mengenai PHBS pre 62,36% dan post sebesar 88,67% dan demonstrasi praktek PHBS menggunakan checklist pre 37% dan post 87%. Kesimpulan: adanya pengaruh metode pemberian materi dengan menggunakan video animasi demonstrasi langsung mengenai PHBS. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Sepejam is vernacular name for Hypolytrum nemorum, a member of Ceperaceae family, but their visual leaves looks like Pandanceae. This plant usually growth at swamp side or ponds side area. Survey on 26th June, 2022 at Sriwijaya University ponds, found a sepejam plant. Study on the top leaves of this sample plant, found the paper wasp (Ropalidia fasciata) nest hanged there. Ropalidia fasciata had reported usually made their nest at sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum) and wild grass (Miscanthus sinensis) in Japan, but the nest commonly exist at Cocos nucifera in Taiwan, and often found hung at twigs and leaves of broadleaves tree in Sumatra. But now, it is found Ropalidia fasciata paper wasp, made their nest under Hypolytrum nemorum leaves, at pond side, Indralaya, Sumatra. The nest made at central vein of lining leaves, at the top of twig, close to the inflorescence. Leaves host was 15 cm length, 2 cm wide, 90 cm height from the ground surface. There are 5 individu of H nemorum clumped, and 10 inflerescences, which the pH of soil about 6.5–7 and light intensity 2000 lux at daylight, and soil humidity about 30-40 %. So, it is need to consider, protection of H nemorum in South Sumatra, as the nest habitat of pollinator paper wasp, R fasciata
