Evidence of historical seismicity and volcanism in the Armenian Highland (from Armenian and other sources)

This work presents a summary on the development of studies of historical earthquakes in Armenia and adjacent parts of Turkey and Iran. Since ancient times, this region has been an arena where active geodynamic and seismic history intermingled with no less active and dynamic evolution of human cultures and societies. A long-term historical record in this region beginning as early as the 8th century B.C. provides abundant evidence that can make an inestimable contribution to studies of historical seismicity and volcanism in the area. We discuss the main research methodology and sources used, and dwell on the principal catalogues of historical earthquakes compiled to date

Heisenberg spin chains based on sl(2|1) symmetry

We find solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation acting on tensor product of arbitrary representations of the superalgebra sl(2|1). Based on these solutions we construct the local Hamiltonians for integrable homogeneous periodic chains and open chains.Comment: 28 pages LATE

СУРОГАТНЕ МАТЕРИНСТВО ЯК МЕТОД ДОПОМІЖНИХ РЕПРОДУКТИВНИХ ТЕХНОЛОГІЙ В УКРАЇНІ ТА ЗАРУБІЖНИЙ МЕТОД ЙОГО ПРАВОВОГО РЕГУЛЮВАННЯ

The relevance of the article is the need to regulate the issue of surrogacy in Ukraine. The object of the study of this article is the relations arising in the field of surrogacy. The following research methods were used in the study design: analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, etc. The purpose of this paper is to determine the legal regulation of surrogacy in Ukraine and other foreign countries. To achieve this goal, the following research tasks were set: to analyze the concepts and features of surrogate motherhood as one of the methods of assisted reproductive technologies; explore the foreign experience of legal regulation of this method.The authors conclude that some legal provisions may be useful for the development of Ukrainian legislation in this field, in particular, regarding the possibility of being a surrogate mother not only to a spouse but also to a single person.La relevancia del artículo es la necesidad de regular el tema de la subrogación en Ucrania. El objeto del estudio de este artículo son las relaciones que surgen en el campo de la subrogación. Los siguientes métodos de investigación se utilizaron en el diseño del estudio: análisis, síntesis, inducción, deducción, etc. El propósito de este trabajo es determinar la regulación legal de la subrogación en Ucrania y otros países extranjeros. Para lograr este objetivo, se establecieron las siguientes tareas de investigación: analizar los conceptos y características de la maternidad subrogada como uno de los métodos de las tecnologías de reproducción asistida; Explore la experiencia extranjera de la regulación legal de este método. Los autores concluyen que algunas disposiciones legales pueden ser útiles para el desarrollo de la legislación ucraniana en este campo, en particular, con respecto a la posibilidad de ser una madre sustituta no solo para un cónyuge sino también para una sola persona.Актуальність статті полягає у необхідності регулювання питання сурогатного материнства в Україні. Об’єктом дослідження даної статті стали правовідносини, що виникають в сфері сурогатного материнства. При написанні дослідження були використані наступні методи дослідження: аналіз, синтез, індукція, дедукція тощо. Метою даної роботи є визначення правового регулювання відносин сурогатного материнства в Україні та інших зарубіжних країнах. Для досягнення зазначеної мети були поставлені наступні завдання дослідження: проаналізувати поняття та ознаки сурогатного материнства як одного із методів допоміжних репродуктивних технологій; дослідити зарубіжний досвід правового регулювання цього методу.Авторами був зроблений висновок про те, що деякі правові положення можуть бути корисними для розвитку українського законодавства у даній сфері, зокрема, стосовно можливості бути замовником сурогатного материнства не тільки подружжю, але і самотній людині

Universal R-matrix as integral operator

We derive the integral operator form for the general rational solution of the Yang-Baxter equation with $s\ell(2|1)$ symmetry. Considering the defining relations for the kernel of the R-operator as a system of second order differential equations we observe remarkable reduction to a system of simple first order equations. The obtained kernel of R-operator has a very simple structure. To illustrate all this in the simplest situation we treat also the $s\ell(2)$ case.Comment: 26 pages LaTe

Conformal coupling of the scalar field with gravity in higher dimensions and invariant powers of the Laplacian

The hierarchy of conformally coupled scalars with the increasing scaling dimensions $\Delta_{k}=k-d/2$, $k=1,2,3,...$ connected with the $k$-th Euler density in the corresponding space-time dimensions $d\geq 2k$ is proposed. Area-preserving Structure and Anomalies in 1+1-dimensional Quantum Gravity

We investigate the gauge-independent Hamiltonian formulation and the anomalous Ward identities of a matter-induced 1+1-dimensional gravity theory invariant under Weyl transformations and area-preserving diffeomorphisms, and compare the results to the ones for the conventional diffeomorphism-invariant theory.
