Routing policy validation for the integrated system supporting routing in Software Defined Networks (SDNRoute)

In the article, a validation module, being a component of an integrated system supporting routing in software defined networks (SDNRoute), is proposed and thoroughly examined. The module allows for the verification of the results provided by the optimization module before these results are deployed in the production network. Routing policies are validated for their impact on the network quality parameters and against the threat of overloading (congestion)

Orthodontic patients' information needs

Przedmiotem pracy są potrzeby informacyjne pacjentów leczonych ortodontycznie, wyrażane w postach na forach internetowych. Wiedza na temat potrzeb informacyjnych pacjentów ortodontycznych może być użyteczna dla dziedziny zdrowia publicznego oraz usprawnienia procesu informowania pacjentów. Celem pracy jest identyfikacja oraz analiza potrzeb informacyjnych, a także określenie ich tematyki. W pracy zastosowano dwie metody badawcze, jakimi są: analiza treści i zawartości oraz metoda porównawcza. Badania własne obejmowały zebranie i analizę 9952 wpisów zamieszczonych na trzech polskich forach dyskusyjnych; gazeta.pl, aparatki123.p2a.pl oraz progenia.org. Wykazano, że użytkownicy poszukują zarówno informacji podstawowych, jak i specjalistycznych, związanych z potrzebą leczenia, diagnozą oraz metodami leczenia wad zgryzu, wyborem specjalisty, aspektem finansowym i prawnym leczenia, profilaktyką i leczeniem chorób przyzębia i błon śluzowych jamy ustnej oraz wiedzą związaną z pozostałymi dziedzinami stomatologii. Okoliczności inicjujące powstawanie potrzeb informacyjnych pacjentów ortodontycznych związane są z niedostatecznym informowaniem przez lekarzy, niską wiedzą zdrowotną, barierami komunikacyjnymi w relacji lekarz-pacjent oraz cechami osobowościowymi pacjentów. Wyniki badań, wzbogacają stan wiedzy na temat potrzeb pacjentów ortodontycznych oraz czynników które je kształtują, ukazują także zagrożenia związane z poszukiwaniem informacji medycznych w Internecie.The orthodontic patients' information needs are the subject of this paper. Knowledge of their information needs can be used in the area of public health as well as for improving information providing process to support patients. The aim of this paper is to identify and analyze the patients' information needs and to determine the key themes and categories of retrieved information. The content, a total of 9952 entries, derived from three polish online forums for orthodontic patients (gazeta.pl, aparatki123.p2a.pl and progenia.org) was gathered and analyzed using a content analysis method, and the results are presented using comparative method. Research results show that users information needs topics are related to malocclusion diagnosis, treatment need and treatment methods, choosing a doctor, financial and legal information, prevention of periodontal pathology and oral diseases as well as knowledge about other dental fields. Patients initiate information seeking due to an insufficient information provided by doctors, low-level health knowledge, doctor-patient communication barriers and patients' personality traits. The results increase the current knowledge about the orthodontic patients' information needs and the factors that influence their information needs. It also provides knowledge about the danger of medical information retrieval from the Internet
