    Efficient Assessment and Evaluation for Websites Vulnerabilities Using SNORT

    An endless number of methods or ways exists to access illegally a web server or a website. The task of defending a system (e.g. network, server, website, etc.) is complex and challenging. SNORT is one of the popular open source tools that can be used to detect and possibly prevent illegal access and attacks for networks and websites. However, this largely depends on the way SNORT rules are designed and implemented. In this paper, we investigated in details several examples of SNORT rules and how they can be tuned to improve websites protection. We demonstrated practical methods to design and implement those methods in such ways that can show to security personnel how effectively can SNORT rules be used. Continuous experiments are conducted to evaluate and optimized the proposed rules. Results showed their ability to prevent tested network attacks. Each network should try to find the best set of rules that can detect and prevent most network attacks while at the same time cause minimal impact on network performance

    A survey on author profiling, deception, and irony detection for the Arabic language

    Adalimumab Induced or Provoked MS in Patient with Autoimmune Uveitis: A Case Report and Review of the Literature

    Anti-tumor necrosis factor α (anti-TNF-α) agents have been widely used in the field of autoimmune diseases and have proved decisive efficacy and relative safety. Data concerning their adverse effects has been lately describing central nervous system (CNS) demyelination process at escalating basis. Case Presentation. A 23-year-old male with autoimmune uveitis and a family history of multiple sclerosis (MS) developed two neurological attacks, after Adalimumab infusion, simultaneously with several cerebral lesions on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Hence the diagnosis of Adalimumab induced MS was suspected. Conclusion. This case is reported to tell physicians to be cautious when using anti-TNF-α in patients with family history of MS and to reconsider the risk of MS in patients with autoimmune diseases

    Delirium as presenting symptom of neuro-Behcet’s disease

    Objectives: Behcet’s disease is a multisystemic disorder. Most of its clinical manifestations are due to thrombosis or vasculitis. There is a predominance of mucocutaneous and ocular lesions; neurological manifestations are minority. However, this could be the first problem that leads a patient to seek medical help. Methods: We report a 30-year-old female with rapidly progressive headaches and confusion. Brain magnetic resonance imaging showed bilateral thalamic T2 hyperintense lesions and hemorrhage. Directed inquiry revealed recurrent oral ulcers and three miscarriages. During hospitalization, the patient developed a deep venous thrombosis. Results: After exclusion of other differential diagnoses, the diagnosis of Behcet’s disease was established. Conclusion: Behcet’s disease is a protean disease. Hence it should be in mind in patients with otherwise unexplained signs and symptoms, especially in endemic countries, and treatment decision should not be witheld in critical cases if no alternative diagnosis is plausible

    Evaluation of growth performance and muscle marker genes expression in four different broiler strains in Jordan

    This study investigates the expression of the muscle growth factors Myostatin (MSTN) and Insulin-like growth hormone type I (IGF-I) and muscle marker genes MyoD and MyoG in relation to growth performance and meat characteristics in four different commercial broiler strains. Eight hundred, one-day-old chicks of Hubbard Classic (HC), Cobb500 (Cobb), Ross308 (Ross) and Indian River (IR) strains were randomly distributed in a completely randomised design into four groups for 28 days. At the end of the growth trial, 10 birds from each strain were weighed and slaughtered. A sample of Pectoral muscle was taken and kept in RNA solution for mRNA expression level measurements. Gene expression in the pectoral muscle at 20 days revealed that MSTN expression was higher for Ross than HC and IR. IGF-I expression was highest in IR and lowest in HC. MyoD expression was lowest in HC but higher in Ross and Cobb, while MyoG expression was similar. At the end of the experiment, IR gained the highest (p < .0001) body weight, while Ross the lowest, yet still with no significant differences in body weight gain among the four strains. HC scored the lowest (p = .01) efficiency in feed consumption (1.60 ± 0.03 kg/kg). Hot and cold carcase weights of IR were significantly heavier (p < .0001) than the other strains, with no significant difference in dressing percentages. Cooking loss was the highest (p = .058) for Cobb, IR, HC, and Ross, in decreasing order. The meat-tenderness value was highest for Ross, while differences in pH, colour and water holding capacities were insignificant among the strains.HIGHLIGHTS IGF-I and MyoG genes can be used in Broiler artificial selection programmes for improving body weight and carcase cuts.     Severe distinct dysautonomia in RFC1-related disease associated with Parkinsonism

    BACKGROUND: Biallelic repeat expansions in RFC1 have recently been found to cause cerebellar ataxia, neuropathy and vestibular areflexia syndrome (CANVAS). Additional features that have been described include Parkinsonism and a multiple system atrophy (MSA)-like syndrome. CANVAS can include features of dysautonomia, but they are much milder than typically seen in MSA. METHODS: We report a detailed autonomic phenotype of multisystem RFC1-related disease presenting initially as CANVAS. RESULTS: Our patient presented aged 61 with a sensory ataxic neuropathy who rapidly developed widespread autonomic failure and Parkinsonism. The autonomic profile was of a mixed pre- and post-ganglionic syndrome with progressive involvement of sympathetic and parasympathetic cardiovascular and sudomotor function. The Parkinsonism did not respond to levodopa. CONCLUSION: We present a patient with CANVAS and biallelic RFC1 expansions who developed Parkinsonism with severe autonomic involvement similar to that seen in classical MSA.
