    Esiste un filo conduttore per una “scuola”, come quella di Porto, in cui le contaminazioni e gli insegnamenti non sono evidenti? La scuola diventa anti-scuola nel momento in cui i suoi insegnamenti non sono impartiti ex-cattedra o illustrati secondo un canovaccio accademico, ma sono il frutto di esperienze, interpolazioni, fusioni, collaborazioni e autonomie. L’interazione sapiente di linguaggi architettonici che condividono un percorso, vivendo l’aria e la tradizione di Porto, concretizzandosi altrove. Esiste certamente, al fondo di tanta continuità produttiva, una motivazione più profonda del richiamo linguistico, che probabilmente affonda le sue radici anche al di fuori del Portogallo. L’interpretazione di questa motivazione profonda è l’obiettivo della ricerca che si svolge quindi, non solo con lo sguardo sul Portogallo, ma anche con l’attenzione verso le influenze di Porto in altre aree, considerando l’eredità e le influenze della scuola sulle giovani generazioni di architetti portoghes

Tras exponer los antecedentes históricos y las representaciones sociales que llevan a afirmar que escribir hace bien, el trabajo analiza el caso de la escritura de las Madres de Plaza de Mayo y las distintas formas que asume la escritura reparadora en este grupo particular. La perspectiva metodológica articula procedimientos analíticos de la antropología de la escritura, la teoría de la narratividad, los estudios retóricos y el análisis del discurso. El tema y los materiales presentados conforman parte de una investigación mayor relacionada con la escritura de sujetos que escriben para recomponer su subjetividad dañada

    Anti-tumor effects of retinoids combined with trastuzumab or tamoxifen in breast cancer cells: induction of apoptosis by retinoid/trastuzumab combinations

    INTRODUCTION: HER2 and estrogen receptor (ER) are important in breast cancer and are therapeutic targets of trastuzumab (Herceptin) and tamoxifen, respectively. Retinoids inhibit breast cancer growth, and modulate signaling by HER2 and ER. We hypothesized that treatment with retinoids and simultaneous targeting of HER2 and/or ER may have enhanced anti-tumor effects. METHODS: The effects of retinoids combined with trastuzumab or tamoxifen were examined in two human breast cancer cell lines in culture, BT474 and SKBR3. Assays of proliferation, apoptosis, differentiation, cell cycle distribution, and receptor signaling were performed. RESULTS: In HER2-overexpressing/ER-positive BT474 cells, combining all-trans retinoic acid (atRA) with tamoxifen or trastuzumab synergistically inhibited cell growth, and altered cell differentiation and cell cycle. Only atRA/trastuzumab-containing combinations induced apoptosis. BT474 and HER2-overexpressing/ER-negative SKBR3 cells were treated with a panel of retinoids (atRA, 9-cis-retinoic acid, 13-cis-retinoic acid, or N-(4-hydroxyphenyl) retinamide (fenretinide) (4-HPR)) combined with trastuzumab. In BT474 cells, none of the single agents except 4-HPR induced apoptosis, but again combinations of each retinoid with trastuzumab did induce apoptosis. In contrast, the single retinoid agents did cause apoptosis in SKBR3 cells; this was only modestly enhanced by addition of trastuzumab. The retinoid drug combinations altered signaling by HER2 and ER. Retinoids were inactive in trastuzumab-resistant BT474 cells. CONCLUSIONS: Combining retinoids with trastuzumab maximally inhibits cell growth and induces apoptosis in trastuzumab-sensitive cells. Treatment with such combinations may have benefit for breast cancer patients

    Characterization of new IS elements and studies of their dispersion in two subspecies of Leifsonia xyli

    <p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p><it>Leifsonia xyli </it>is a xylem-inhabiting bacterial species comprised of two subspecies: <it>L. xyli </it>subsp. <it>xyli </it>(<it>Lxx</it>) and <it>L. xyli </it>subsp. <it>cynodontis </it>(<it>Lxc</it>). <it>Lxx </it>is the causal agent of ratoon stunting disease in sugarcane commercial fields and <it>Lxc </it>colonizes the xylem of several grasses causing either mild or no symptoms of disease. The completely sequenced genome of <it>Lxx </it>provided insights into its biology and pathogenicity. Since IS elements are largely reported as an important source of bacterial genome diversification and nothing is known about their role in chromosome architecture of <it>L. xyli</it>, a comparative analysis of <it>Lxc </it>and <it>Lxx </it>elements was performed.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>Sample sequencing of <it>Lxc </it>genome and comparative analysis with <it>Lxx </it>complete DNA sequence revealed a variable number of IS transposable elements acting upon genomic diversity. A detailed characterization of <it>Lxc </it>IS elements and a comparative review with IS elements of <it>Lxx </it>are presented. Each genome showed a unique set of elements although related to same IS families when considering features such as similarity among transposases, inverted and direct repeats, and element size. Most of the <it>Lxc </it>and <it>Lxx </it>IS families assigned were reported to maintain transposition at low levels using translation regulatory mechanisms, consistent with our <it>in silico </it>analysis. Some of the IS elements were found associated with rearrangements and specific regions of each genome. Differences were also found in the effect of IS elements upon insertion, although none of the elements were preferentially associated with gene disruption. A survey of transposases among genomes of Actinobacteria showed no correlation between phylogenetic relatedness and distribution of IS families. By using Southern hybridization, we suggested that diversification of <it>Lxc </it>isolates is also mediated by insertion sequences in probably recent events.</p> <p>Conclusion</p> <p>Collectively our data indicate that transposable elements are involved in genome diversification of <it>Lxc </it>and <it>Lxx</it>. The IS elements were probably acquired after the divergence of the two subspecies and are associated with genome organization and gene contents. In addition to enhancing understanding of IS element dynamics in general, these data will contribute to our ongoing comparative analyses aimed at understanding the biological differences of the <it>Lxc </it>and <it>Lxx</it>.</p

    La siguiente es la reseña de una investigación que se encuadra dentro de un proyecto mayor, denominado "Formación de los docentes que enseñan a leer y escribir en la universidad de masas" (Zerillo, 2021-2022). El trabajo se encuentra en su etapa final de recolección de datos. En esta ponencia, en primer término, damos cuenta de la fundamentación y objetivos planteados, para luego exponer algunas observaciones/ reflexiones acerca de los primeros datos que hemos obtenido en esta experiencia que, por supuesto, no pretende ser innovadora, pero que implica cambios considerables en el modo de trabajar en nuestra cátedra, Seminario de Comprensión y Producción de Textos, correspondiente al curso de ingreso de la Universidad Nacional de La Matanza, cambios que significan a su vez un desafío a futuro. Consideramos que la tarea realizada puede ser de utilidad para otras comunidades docentes, que como la nuestra esté conformada por docentes de distinta formación.The following is the review of an investigation that is part of a larger project, called "Training of teachers who teach reading and writing in the university of the masses" (Zerillo, 2021-2022). The work is in its final stage of data collection. In this paper, first of all, we give an account of the rationale and proposed objectives, to then present some observations/reflections about the first data that we have obtained in this experience that, of course, does not pretend to be innovative, but that implies considerable changes. in the way of working in our chair, Text Comprehension and Production Seminar, corresponding to the entrance course of the National University of La Matanza, changes that in turn mean a challenge for the future. We consider that the task carried out can be useful for other teaching communities, which, like ours, are made up of teachers of different backgrounds.Especialización en Docencia Universitari

    Responses of Acidobacteria Granulicella sp. WH15 to High Carbon Revealed by Integrated Omics Analyses

    The phylum Acidobacteria is widely distributed in soils, but few representatives have been cultured. In general, Acidobacteria are oligotrophs and exhibit slow growth under laboratory conditions. We sequenced the genome of Granulicella sp. WH15, a strain obtained from decaying wood, and determined the bacterial transcriptome and proteome under growth in poor medium with a low or high concentration of sugar. We detected the presence of 217 carbohydrate-associated enzymes in the genome of strain WH15. Integrated analysis of the transcriptomic and proteomic profiles showed that high sugar triggered a stress response. As part of this response, transcripts related to cell wall stress, such as sigma factor σW and toxin–antitoxin (TA) systems, were upregulated, as were several proteins involved in detoxification and repair, including MdtA and OprM. KEGG metabolic pathway analysis indicated the repression of carbon metabolism (especially the pentose phosphate pathway) and the reduction of protein synthesis, carbohydrate metabolism, and cell division, suggesting the arrest of cell activity and growth. In summary, the stress response of Granulicella sp. WH15 induced by the presence of a high sugar concentration in the medium resulted in the intensification of secretion functions to eliminate toxic compounds and the reallocation of resources to cell maintenance instead of growth

    Comunicación familiar en estudiantes de la escuela profesional de Trabajo Social, Universidad Nacional José Faustino Sánchez Carrión Huacho 2022

    Objetivo: El Principal objetivo del presente estudio es identificar el nivel de comunicación familiar en estudiantes de la EPTS, de mencionada cada de estudio en el año 2022. Métodos: Para este estudio se utilizó una metodología básica, descriptiva y diseño no experimental. Los sujetos de investigación fueron los estudiantes de trabajo social de la UNJFSC. La muestra fue extraída por conveniencia no probabilística e incluyó a 53 estudiantes de la EPTS del año 2022. Asimismo, se les aplicó un cuestionario propuesto por Olson y Barnes (1982), en donde se aborda la Escala de comunicación de Padres/adolescentes. Resultados: Pudimos observar que el 42% de encuestados presentan una comunicación familiar media con sus padres, es decir, que existe cierto nivel de confianza de hablar de temas, pero con ciertas limitaciones. En caso a comunicación abierta también se presenta en un nivel medio en los estudiantes mencionados dentro de su hogar. La comunicación ofensiva se presenta en un nivel bajo y medio de igual porcentaje dentro de los hogares, y por último la comunicación evitativa se presenta en un nivel bajo entre la relación padre e hijo. Conclusión: Se encuentra preponderancia del nivel medio de comunicación familiar en alumnos de la EPTS, en relación con las dimensiones se obtuvo que exista un nivel medio de comunicación abierta en el alumnado de la escuela profesional, nivel medio de comunicación ofensiva y nivel medio en la comunicación evitativa
