    POTENTIAL APPLICATION OF COILED TUBING DRILLING IN MALAY BASIN

    Coiled Tubing Drilling (CTD) is a niche technology developed in continuous effort to recover hydrocarbon from subsurface. It had been applied around the world and show significant advantages compare to the conventional drilling. One of the significant advantages is increase in the rate of penetration (ROP) which is higher compare to the conventional one. In this project, Bourgoyne and Young ROP model have been selected to study the effects of several parameters during drilling operation. Important parameters such as depth, pore pressure, equivalent circulating density, bit weight, rotary speed, bit tooth wear, and jet impact force are extracted from drilling report. In order to study their relationship statistical method which is multiple regressions analysis has been used. The penetration model for the conventional and CTD wellare constructed using the results of statistical method. In the end, the result from analysis being compared to determine the CTD advantage over the conventional well in term of higher rate of penetration value. Overall, this project provides a study to the most complete mathematical model for rate of penetration that was constructed by Bourgoyne and Young. The model had been chose before other existed model. Using the Bourgoyne and Young model, CTD ROP is calculated. Several assumptions have been made. The ROP value we get from the model show us the potential of CTD to be applied in Malay Basin.

    Waqf: the implementation of waqf in higher education in UiTM Puncak Alam / Muhammad Ammar Abdullah Zawawi.

    Muslims around the world are exposed to the practice of waqf, but the extent of their knowledge on the practice is difficult to measure. In general, the awareness of the requirement in practicing waqf among Muslims society are important since it is useful to the Muslims and concurrently can help certain those in need. There is a growing number of waqf properties provided from time to time by the Muslims in Malaysia. For educational purposes, some of the waqf assets were reserved because of such scenario, it is important to track the growth of waqf education in Malaysia in order to maintain the good practice and management of waqf property as well as the development of waqf education. The objectives of this research is to identify the waqf according to Islamic perspective and to analyse the implementation of waqf in higher education in UITM Puncak Alam. The problem statement is the people do not know or do not understand the concept of waqf education. It is because it just mainly focuses on education at the lowest level such as school level and covers only religious areas. This is because they lack knowledge and awareness about the waqf. Other than that, the problems faced by society today are that they want a shortcut for success. They just want to know the results and just relax, they do not want to know how the waqf are invested. The research has used data collection methods through interviews and observations with officials working at University of Technology Mara (UiTM) where an interview session was made with a respondent to obtain accurate information. The purpose of this interview is to seek and obtain accurate data from UiTM waqf centers on prohibited elements or conceptual concepts or other types of waqf education. Through this study, waqf education may hopefully be proposed to enhance the growth of the education system and economic development in Malaysia, in particular UITM Puncak Alam

    Properties of oil palm shell lightweight aggregate concrete containing fly ash as partial sand replacement

    The steady growth of the palm oil industry has led to the generation of the palm oil mill by-product known as oil palm shell (OPS) amounting more than 4 million tonnes annually which are dumped in the landfill. At the same time, the annual world production of fly ash (FA) which is a by-product of coal-fired electric power plants is approximately 350 million tonnes. Due to large production, these waste are also dumped that in turn, significantly affects the surrounding environment. On the other hand, the growing construction industry has led towards the increase in river sand mining activities. However, unregulated mining by the authorities may pose adverse impact towards the environment as it lowers the stream bottom, which in turn may lead to bank erosion. The growing demand for construction material and environmental issues created from the by-products of palm oil industry as well as coal industry have initiated research towards producing a new lightweight concrete. OPS has been previously utilized with POFA and FA as partial cement replacement. However, it is non-trivial to mention that study on the integration of fly ash (FA) as sand replacement in OPS LWAC has yet been reported. Thus, this research focuses on investigating the properties of Oil Palm Shell Lightweight Aggregate Concrete (OPS LWAC) containing various percentage of FA as partial sand replacement. Fly Ash (FA) is utilized as partial sand replacement in the production of Lightweight Aggregate Concrete (LWAC) in order to reduce sand usage in construction, reduce pollutions as well as the amount of waste disposed. Meanwhile, the use of OPS in lightweight aggregate concrete (LWAC) as a coarse aggregate replacement will help to preserve natural resources such as granite and limestone. The plain OPS LWAC content with 100% sand was used as a control mix. Then, a series of OPS LWAC mixes with FA of various percentages such as 10%, 20%, 30% and 40% were prepared. The OPS was utilized as coarse aggregate with 100% replacement throughout the research. The best mix acquired from the trial mixes were used to investigate the mechanical and durability properties of OPS LWAC. The effect of curing namely water curing, air curing and initial water curing regimes on mechanical properties aspect of OPS LWAC containing FA has been determined. Furthermore, other durability properties tests have been carried out namely sulphate resistance test, water absorption and carbonation. All specimens were tested until 9 months. OPS LWAC containing 10% FA performs the best amongst all percentages in terms of mechanical and durability properties. The inclusion of a suitable amount of fly ash produces larger amount of C-S-H gel from both hydration and pozzolanic reaction which fills in the void of concrete internal structure making the concrete denser and stronger. It was demonstrated that 40% of FA replacement provided the worse effect to the OPS LWAC in term of mechanical and durability properties. The findings show that water curing is the best curing method to ensure better performance on compressive strength, flexural strength, modulus of elasticity and splitting tensile strength of OPS LWAC containing FA followed by initial water curing and air curing. Also, OPS LWAC with 10% FA exhibit higher durability compared to control specimens and others mixes when subjected to sulphate attack. OPS LWAC with 10% FA has better performance in sulphate solutions since the pozzolanic reactions reduce the quantity of calcium hydroxide which is vulnerable towards aggressive environment. No carbonation rate was detected for specimens subjected to water curing and initial water curing except for air curing. Water curing promotes better hydration process and pozzolanic reaction that improves the internal structure of OPS LWAC containing FA causing it to exhibit lower absorption value compared to other curing methods

    Al-Haqaiq al-Ijtima'iyyah al-Andalus fi Syi'r Madh wa Tahniah li Ibn Zaydun

    PurposeThis study aimed to describe the influence of race, environment, and era in Andalusian society on Ibn Zaidun's hymn (praise) and tahniah (congratulations) poetry using the perspective of Hippolite Adolf Taine. MethodThis study was a qualitative research using a library research design that relied on the hymn and tahniah poetry in Diwan Ibn Zaidun: Rasailuhu, Akhbaruhu, Syi'rul Mikjain written by Kamil Kailani and Abdurrahman. This study analyzed the tradition of praise (madah) and congratulations (tahniah) of the Andalusian community in 19 of Ibn Zaydun's poems communicated with 3 indicators of Taine's theory of social facts, namely race, climate, and time factors. Results/FindingsThis study revealed the influence of the three aspects of Andalusian social facts on Ibn Zaidun's poetry, namely: 1) Ras-Spirit, showing that Andalusian society has the tradition of writing poetry for leaders; 2) Environment-Milieau, that was cool climate surrounded by beautiful green plants have a strong influence on Andalusian Literature, giving rise to many expressions of natural beauty in their poems, especially in praise (madah) and congratulations (tahniah) on Ibn Zaidun's poetry; 3) The Age of Moments privileging Andalusian with many muwashahat, so that the poets paid great attention to rhyme (qafiyah) in their poetry, and the uses of the Andalusian language with Arabic writing became greater in a number of poems. ConclusionAndalusian poetry represented by the poet Ibn Zaydun contains three aspects of Tain social facts. Ibn Zaydun's poetry tradition is influenced by the characteristics of Andalusian society, the climate in the Andalusian city, and the time of writing the poem. The author suggests further studies on the Hypolite Taine social fact theory with its unique scope of social facts. Likewise with Andalusian studies, further studies are urgently needed to find the meaning and social facts behind his classical poems

    Kemampuan berpikir kritis dapat melatih peserta didik membuat keputusan dari berbagai sudut pandang secara cermat, teliti, dan logis. Dengan kemampuan berpikir kritis, peserta didik dapat mempertimbangkan pendapat orang lain serta mampu mengungkapkan pendapatnya sendiri. Oleh karena itu pembelajaran di sekolah sebaiknya melatih peserta didik untuk menggali kemampuan dan keterampilan dalam mencari, mengolah, dan menilai berbagai informasi secara kritis. Model pembelajaran yang digunakan guru seharusnya dapat membantu proses analisis peserta didik. Salah satu model pembelajaran tersebut adalah model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning. Dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning pada pembelajaran Matematika diharapkan peserta didik akan mampu menggunakan dan mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis untuk menyelesaikan masalah dengan menggunakan berbagai strategi penyelesaian. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika melalui model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 1 Glagah Lamongan pada kelas VII-A sebanyak 15 peserta didik tahun akademik 2017/2018. Metode pengumpulan data adalah metode tes. Metode tes digunakan untuk mendapatkan data kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes kemampuan berpikir kritis.Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik berkategori tinggi, dengan rincian 9 peserta didik atau 60% memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritis sangat tinggi, 3 peserta didik atau 20% memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritis tinggi, 2 peserta didik atau 14% memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritis sedang, sedangkan 1 peserta didik atau 6% memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritis renda

    Design And Analysis Of Triangular Array Antenna For Uhf Rfid Reader

    In this paper, the purpose of this study is to design and analysis the triangular array microstrip patch antenna for application of Radio Frequency (RFID) Ultra High Frequency (UHF). RFID is a technology that uses of radio waves automatically identify and read information from tag with distance. The patch design on this project consists of triangular patch with array. Array antennas are used in RFID application as it offers high gain and directivity to allow a long distance read range. The microstrip patch is arranged in 2 x 1 array and material used is FR-4 with dielectric constant 4.7 with height of 0.16 cm. The material for patch is copper with height 0.035 mm and used to design triangular shape. Design of antenna patch 919MHz to 923MHz is designed, built, and measured for UHF RFID application in Malaysia. Parametric theory and calculation studies are conducted to analysis changes in operations in radio frequency identification (RFID) application (UHF). The antenna simulation was run using the CST Studio Suite 2019 as the primary software to model and simulate the results, there are a few parameters that going to be analyses which includes reflection coefficient (S11), Voltage Standing Ratio (VSWR), directivity, gain, radiation pattern and bandwidth

    Artikel ini mengandungi penilaian kritikal terhadap tesis bertajuk 'Pemikiran Akidah Syekh Nazim al-Qubrusi Menurut Ahli Sunnah Wal Jamaah'. Pengkaji mengkaji aspek Aqidah dan Tasawuf Syekh Nazim al-Qubrusi dan menyimpulkan bahawa idea-idea beliau tidak sejajar dengan Ahli Sunnah Wal Jamaah. Memandangkan Tarekat Syekh Nazim telah diluluskan dalam Muzakarah MKI dan Negeri Sembilan, artikel ini bertujuan: Pertama, menilai semula data yang dikemukakan dan interpretasi terhadap tokoh terutamanya dalam isu-isu ketuhanan. Kedua, menangani sebarang kesilapan atau ketidak tepatan dalam kajian asal dan menyediakan pemahaman yang lebih tepat terhadap idea Syekh Nazim. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan melihat kepada kandungan kajian asal. Data kemudiannya dianalisis dengan membandingkannya dengan turath (warisan) ulama Ahli Sunnah Wal Jamaah. Beberapa kesilapan dalam kajian asal ini dikenalpasti, termasuk salah nukilan dan salah faham terhadap perkataan Syekh Nazim, dan tidak meraikan khilaf di kalangan ulama al-Asya’irah. Kesilapan-kesilapan ini mungkin disebabkan oleh kecuaian penyelidik atau oleh bergantung pada kesimpulan pihak ketiga.  This article contains a critical evaluation of the dissertation entitled ‘Pemikiran Akidah Syekh Nazim al-Qubrusi Menurut Ahli Sunnah Wal Jamaah’. The researcher study the aspects of Aqidah and Sufism of Syekh Nazim al-Qubrusi and concludes that his ideas are not in line with Ahli Sunnah Wal Jamaah. Since Syekh Nazim’s Sufi Order has been approved in the Muzakarah of MKI and Negeri Sembilan, this article aims to: First, re-evaluate the data presented and the interpretations on them especially in divine issues. Second, address any errors or inaccuracies in the original study and provide a more accurate understanding of Syekh Nazim’s teachings. The review uses a qualitative approach and relies on a content analysis of the original study. The data was then analyzed by comparing it to the turath of Ahli Sunnah Wal Jamaah’s scholar. The authors identifies several errors in the original study, including misquoting and misunderstandings of Syekh Nazim’s words, and a lack of consideration for differences in Ash’ari scholars’ opinions. These errors may have been caused by the researcher’s negligence or by their reliance on the conclusions of third parties
