Inferential sensor for the olive oil industry

This paper shows an inferential sensor that has been developed to be used in the olive oil industry. This sensor has been designed to measure two variables that appear in the elaboration of olive oil in a mill which are very difficult to be measured on line by a physical sensor. The knowledge of these variables on line is crucial for the optimal operation of the process, since they provide the state of the plant, allowing the development of a control strategy that can improve the quality and yield of the product. This sensor measures variables that in other case should come form laboratory analysis with large processing delays or from very expensive and difficult to use on line analysers. The sensor has been devised based upon artificial Neural Networks (NN) and has been implemented as a routine running on a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and successfully tested on a real plant.Ministerio de Ciencia y Tecnología DPI2001-2380-C02-0

Raman spectroscopy meets organic biradicals. Study of a new diindeno [B,I] anthracene derivative

Comunicación oral a congresoIn recent years, there has been a renewed interest in the study of open-shell polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). Among them, biradicals exhibit attractive electronic, magnetic and optical properties which make them promising candidates for a wide range of applications in organic electronics, such as nonlinear optics, molecular spintronics, energy storage and organic photovoltaic devices sensitized by singlet fission. Despite all the promising properties of open-shell PAHs, a common drawback still needs to be overcome: the high reactivity of radicals, which implies that most open-shell species tend to be too short-lived for practical aplications and even for characterization [1]. In this regard, Raman spectroscopy has shown to be a suitable tool for studying this kind of molecular systems, being able to provide valuable information. This work reports the study of a new biradical, diindeno[b,i]anthracene (DIAn)[2], [3] , highlighting the crucial role played by Raman Spectroscopy in the characterization of the ground electronic state as well as in the rationalization of the ambipolar behavior shown in OFETs. To this end, neutral and charged species has been studied by Raman spectroscopy as a function of excitation wavelength, temperatura and pressure.Universidad de Málaga. Homicidio y precios de la tierra: un análisis espacial en Santiago de Cali

Since 2000, Cali has had the highest mean annual homicide rate among the major Colombian cities. The model of Mills (1972) is extended to include the homicide per commune (from 2005 to 2012) as a measure of social distance, and to quantify the effect of this phenomenon on land prices (mean appraisals). Using an annual panel, the estimates of the model --- the family violence rate being the instrumental variable --- show that an increase in the homicide rate of one unit reduces the appraisals by 1.6%. One plausible interpretation is that homicides operate as a regressive tax on property wealth in Cali because it is more concentrated in the communes of the lower socio-economic stratum, systematically expanding the intra-urban social distanceDesde el año 2000 Cali tuvo la tasa promedio anual de homicidio más alta entre las principales ciudades colombianas. Nosotros ampliamos el modelo de Mills (1972), incluyendo el homicidio por comunas (durante 2005-2012) como medida de distancia social, para cuantificar el efecto de este fenómeno sobre los precios de la tierra (avalúos medios). A stochastic predictive control approach to project risk management

This work shows a control policy based on MPC and applied to project risk management. MPC has been applied due the properties that presents such as the easy constraint treatment or the extension to multivariable case. The control actions are the mitigation actions to execute in order to reduce the risk exposure. Stochastic variables have been introduced to model the uncertainties of risk impacts. Integer variables are involved in the optimization problem modelling the mitigation actions

In this article about art, technology and feminism, I assert the role of writings and modes of doing in relation to discourses, as well as the coherence of that position in every femi-nist critical practice against logocentrism. The text, based on a revision and modification of part of the chapter «Teclear» of my essay (h)adas. Mujeres que crean, programan, prosumen, teclean (2013), is based on a critical and proposing analysis of some of the most usual feminist modes of doing of feminist art practice, and argues the interest of that cre-ative practice in technology and networks, emphasising the power of the choices not only of media, but of the creative forms against implicit tendencies -although almost always in-visible- toward domestication; the power of the resistance exercises, infiltration, subver-sion and critical appropriation against the repetion of worlds.En este artículo sobre arte, tecnología y feminismo reivindico el papel de las escrituras y formas de hacer en relación a los discursos, así como la coherencia de dicho posicionamien-to en todo ejercicio crítico del feminismo frente al logocentrismo. Hybrid algorithm for scheduling and risk assessment of projects

Editorial Note

I am pleased to introduce the Issue 1 of volume 2 of International Journal of Automation, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (IJAAIML). The journal established recently published its first volume at the end of 2020 and now, according to the scheduled, it is publishing this first issue of the second volume. Although, it is just the beginning, this journal aspires to be a relevant, accessible, integrative and challenging journal. It is important to highlight that all articles of this journal are included in Research Lake journals.
