Get PDF
The impact of agricultural extension contact on agricultural income has been conducted. The objectives of the study were to examine the actual benefits of agricultural extension services on productivity through an agricultural production function and if there are benefits for farmers to determine the type of farmers who benefited from the services. Fifty samples were collected from two sub districts of the Gazipur district in Bangladesh. The selection of the study sites and collection of the sample were done purposively. It is clarified from the study that extension services have significant contribution to raise agricultural income per unit of farm land. Results were derived through regression analysis. The results show that the contact coefficient of three times and above is higher (0.353) compared to the contact coefficient one and two times (0.234). It is observed that for a successful introduction of agricultural extension contacts in the country socio economic factors such as education of farmers, age and number of adult family members, ratio of agricultural income to total income should be taken into consideration.</jats:p

Evaluation of Network Mobility Schemes for Terrestrial and Satellite Networks

Get PDF
NEtwork MObility (NEMO) supports the mobility of multiple Internet-connected devices. However, NEMO Basic Support Protocol suffers from unoptimized route leading to large latency in communication and header overhead. To optimize route, a plethora of schemes have been proposed. These schemes differ in terms of several performance parameters, such as signaling, end-to-end delay andhandoff latency. However, no performance or cost evaluation exists in the literature to compare the schemes. In addition, mobility management is required to support the mobility of Internet-connected devices in satellite networks. Existing mobility management solutions for satellite networks are unable toprovide connectivity to the Internet when satellites are not directly connected to the ground. In this dissertation, a comprehensive evaluation of the schemes and a mobility management solution for satellite networks using NEMO are provided. The schemes are classified and compared to choose the optimal class. Using analytical and simulation-based models, the schemes in the chosen class are compared based on the performance parameters. The effect of the parameters on transmission Control Protocol, the dominant transport protocol in the Internet, is also evaluated. A cost evaluation is performed to determine the network resource consumption of the schemes. Finally, an architecture and extensions of the basic protocol are presented to apply NEMO in satellite networks. This dissertation fosters the application of NEMO to terrestrial and satellitenetworks by selecting and extending optimal route optimization schemes, and presenting new architecture and protocol

Purpose: The prime intention of this study is to explore client satisfaction with branchless agent banking services during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The roles of service quality, security, transaction cost, trust, and convenience have been explored to assess the client satisfaction of agent banking in Bangladesh. Theoretical framework: The research model used in this study is based on the theory of Oliver (1980). In the model, dependent variable (client satisfaction) is measured through the service quality, security, transaction cost, trust, and convenience. Oliver (1980) claims that the customer satisfaction model explains why feelings of satisfaction occur when customers assess how well actual products or services perform in comparison to their expectations. Design/Methodology/Approach: The self-administered questionnaire was deployed for primary data collection purposes. A partial least square-structural equation model (PLS-SEM) analysis was performed on the 286 useable questionnaires that were returned from a total of 300 questionnaires in order to validate the model and assess the validity of the hypothesis. Findings: The study's conclusions showed that factors including service quality, security, trust, and convenience have a big impact on how satisfied customers are. Transaction costs don't, however, significantly affect how satisfied customers are. Research, Practical & Social implications: This study's findings will close the existing empirical gap by educating academics about the relationship between consumer happiness, service quality, security, transaction cost, trust, and convenience in the agent banking sector. Furthermore, it aids in their comprehension of theoretical and practical issues. Certainly, this research will serve as the basis for future research in Bangladesh in this field. The results of this investigation will have a wide range of significant ramifications for the sector. Originality/Value: Agent banking is not a novel concept in Bangladesh, but to the best of our knowledge, there is no literature available that uses PLS-SEM to assess rural consumers' satisfaction. This essay is a wise attempt to close that gap. The research offers some useful practical implications for agent banks to identify appropriate ways to satisfy their consumers, despite some constraints

The use of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) has been increasing rapidly in the civilian and military applications, because of UAV's high-performance communication with ground clients, especially for its intrinsic properties such as adaptive altitude, mobility, and flexibility. UAV deployment can be monitored and controlled through 5G wireless network as user equipment (UE) along with other devices. A highly directive microstrip patch antenna (MPA) could establish long-distance communication by overcoming air attenuation and reduce co-channel interference in the limited region if UAV uses a specifically dedicated band, which might enhance spatially reuse of the spectrum. Also, MPA is highly recommended for UAV because of its low weight, low cost, compact size, and flat shape. In this paper, we have designed a highly directive single-band 2×2 and 4×4 antenna array for 5.8 GHz and 28 GHz frequency respectively for UAV application in a focus to deploy UAV through 5G wireless network. Here, The Roger RT5880 (lossy) material utilize as a substrate due to its lower dielectric constant which achieves higher directivity and good mechanical stability. Inset feed technique used to feed antenna for lowering input impedance which provides higher antenna efficiency. The results show a wider bandwidth of 702 MHz and 1.596 GHz for 5.8 GHz and 28 GHz antenna array correspondingly with a compact size

There are several wastewater treatment methods and techniques which have been introduced such as by using biological, chemical, and physical process. However, it is found that there are some shortcomings in the current available methods and techniques. For instance, the application of chlorine can cause bacterial disinfection but produce secondary harmful carcinogenic disinfection. In order to acquire a better understanding in wastewater treatment process, a study of wastewater treatment system and hybrid discharge reactor to acquire gas liquid phase corona like discharge is carried out. In addition to the laboratory experiment, designing and development of the Blumlein pulse power circuit and modification of reactor for wastewater treatment are accomplished as well. The Blumlein pulse power circuit generates nanosecond high voltage pulses. The Hybrid Discharge reactor can produce both spark discharge in gas phase and liquid phase (spark-spark discharge). Analysis of the emission spectrum of the occurring discharge found the existence of various chemicals such as OH radicals. In addition, a drastic improvement in terms of oxygen content and conductivity level of the wastewater sample is also observed.
