Effects of Liposomes Contained in Thermosensitive Hydrogels as Biomaterials Useful in Neural Tissue Engineering

Indexación: Scopus.Advances in the generation of suitable thermosensitive hydrogels for the delivery of cells in neural tissue engineering demonstrate a delicate relationship between physical properties and capabilities to promote cell proliferation and differentiation. To improve the properties of these materials, it is possible to add liposomes for the controlled release of bioactive elements, which in turn can affect the physical and biological properties of the hydrogels. In the present investigation, different hydrogels based on Pluronic F127 have been formulated with the incorporation of chitosan and two types of liposomes of two different sizes. The rheological and thermal properties and their relation with the neurite proliferation and growth of the PC12 cell line were evaluated. Our results show that the incorporation of liposomes modifies the properties of the hydrogels dependent on the concentration of chitosan and the lipid type in the liposomes, which directly affect the capabilities of the hydrogels to promote the viability and differentiation of PC12 cells. © 2017 by the authors.http://www.mdpi.com/1996-1944/10/10/112

Análisis prosódico del par adverbial sólo-solamente en el registro oral-informal del español de Monterrey

A pesar de la extensa bibliografía especializada que existe en el estudio de los adverbios, hay un escaso número de investigaciones dedicadas a observar su realización prosódica. En este análisis se describen los contornos melódicos que presenta el par adverbial sólo-solamente y se determina si dichos contornos son sistemáticos cuando estos elementos promueven un valor semántico o un valor pragmático. Para este estudio, se utilizan 88 ejemplos de registro oral informal que forman parte del Corpus del Habla de Monterrey. Todos los casos se analizan bajo los parámetros del Modelo Métrico Autosegmental (AM) y el sistema de transcripción Sp-ToBI. Los resultados muestran que la realización prosódica del par adverbial presenta configuraciones vinculadas al contenido pragmático, pero no se trata de categorías discretas, dado que hay casos en los que se prescinde de estrategias prosódicas y se mantienen estrategias discursivas como el contexto y el contenido léxico.

Design of biobased supply chains on a life cycle basis: A bi-objective optimization model and a case study of biobased polyethylene terephthalate (PET)

Bioplastics are considered a sustainable alternative to (partly) substitute fossil-based plastics. Nevertheless, it is still uncertain if the use of biomass for the production of bioplastics can mitigate the environmental impact of fossil-based plastics and simultaneously provide economic benefits. An optimization model is proposed to design biobased supply chain networks that account for economic (total costs) and environmental (greenhouse gas emissions) criteria. Life cycle costing and life cycle assessment were used to evaluate the economic and environmental costs of the biobased polyethylene terephthalate (PET) production using sugar beet and wheat as feedstock. The 100% biobased PET production evidenced higher economic and environmental costs than the 30% biobased PET production. The feedstock selection played a key role, whereas the use of wheat for both 30% and 100% biobased PET had the highest costs and greenhouse gas emissions. It is highlighted that the economic performance of the biobased terephthalic acid (PTA) production, the feedstock selection (sugar beet), and the carbon tax scenario (>100 €/t CO2) are key parameters for designing a sustainable biobased PET supply chain

Los programas sociales de lucha contra la pobreza extrema en la provincia de Leoncio Prado – 2005

The present study takes Leoncio Prado´s Province as a geographical area in the Region Huánuco. The analysis is recounted to the social programs that mothers have as mission help to raise the food and nutricional level of groups in situation of extreme poverty, focalizando as the first priority to children fron zero to 7 years, gestantes and nursing children; and as the second priority to children fron 7 to 12 years in condition (state) of malnutrition and elders in situation of social risk. These programs are: 1) The Program of the Glass of Milk, with a whole of 9,508 beneficiaries grouped in 138 Committees, and the Program of Popular Dining rooms, in number of 43 with 1,720 beneficiaries, and with an annual average of 512.400 beneficiaries, and with a whole of 17,364 shares (portions) provided in 2005. The investigation (researh) is of type descriptive Methodologically the investigation (research) is of type descriptive and for the discussion of the results the method was in use. There were in use primary sources (fountains) of information (surveys and interviews in depth) as well as records of the entities at the expense of these programs. For the processing and statistical analysis the of the SPSS was in use v. 13. The opposing results indicate the following thing: 1) The number of leaked (filtered) in the of Popular Dining rooms is 20% whereas in the Program of Glass of Milk it (he, she) is 30%; 2) During the year 2005, the level of sub coverage for the Program of the Glass of Milk was 30%, whereas for the Popular Dining rooms it (he, she) was 45 %; 3) For your (his, her, their) part, the Food program for work shows 55 % of sub coverage; 4) In all the cases, the levels of filtration are more raised in the zones by minor levels of malnutrition.El presente estudio tiene como ámbito geográfico la Provincia de Leoncio Prado en la Región Huánuco. El análisis estuvo referido a los programas sociales que tienen como misión contribuir a elevar el nivel alimentario y nutricional de grupos en situación de pobreza extrema, focalizando como primera prioridad a niños de cero a 7 años, madres gestantes y niños lactantes; y, como segunda prioridad; a niños de 7 a12 años en estado de desnutrición y ancianos en situación de riesgo social. Estos programas son: 1) el programa del Vaso de Leche, con un total de 9,508 beneficiarios agrupados en 138 comités, y el Programa de Comedores Populares, en número de 43 con 1,720 beneficiarios, y con un promedio anual de 512,400 raciones entregadas en el 2005. La investigación tiene como objetivo analizar los niveles de focalización y cobertura de los mismos. Metodológicamente la investigación es de tipo descriptiva. Se utilizaron fuentes primarias de información (encuesta y entrevistas en profundidad) así como registros de las entidades a cargo de estos programas. Para el procesamiento y análisis estadístico se utilizó la plataforma del SPSS V. 13. Los resultados muestran que: 1) El número de filtrados en el Programa de Comedores Populares es del 20% mientras que en el Programa de Vaso de Leche es de 30%; 2) Durante el año 2005, el nivel de sub cobertura para el Programa del Vaso de Leche fue del 30%, mientras que para los Comedores Populares fue del 45%; 3) Por su parte, el Programa de Alimentos por Trabajo muestra 55% de sub cobertura; 4) En todos los caos, los niveles de filtración son más elevados en las zonas con menores niveles de desnutrición

Analysis of the Relationship between Lifestyle and Coffee Consumption Habits, from the Myth Approach, in the Municipalities of Orizaba, Tehuipango, and Zongolica Veracruz.

Coffee consumption habits have evolved along with society for more than 300 years around the world. Social changes imply different lifestyles in each culture. Lifestyles influence the myths used by people in their consumption decisions. The objective of this research is to determine the relationship between lifestyle and coffee consumption habits, from the perspective of myth, in the inhabitants of the Mexican municipalities of Orizaba, Tehuipango, and Zongolica. A survey was conducted with a sample of inhabitants of the three municipalities studied. The statistical analyzes applied were the central limit theorem, Pearson, and Chi-square. The results show that the variables Consumption habits-Lifestyle-Myth, are highly dependent on the level of perception of people. It is concluded that the coffee myth corresponds to the "family union" in the study municipalities. This myth is not characterized in the evolutionary stages contemplated in the "waves of coffee"
