A Support Construction for CT Image Based on K-Means Clustering

Computer Tomography in medical imaging provides human internal body pictures in the digital form. The more quality images it provides, the better information we get. Normally, medical imaging can be constructed by projection data from several perspectives. In this paper, our research challenges and describes a numerical method for refining the image of a Region of Interest (ROI) by constructing support within a standard CT image. It is obvious that the quality of tomographic slice is affected by artifacts. CT using filter and K-means clustering provides a way to reconstruct an ROI with minimal artifacts and improve the degree of the spatial resolution. Experimental results are presented for improving the reconstructed images, showing that the approach enhances the overall resolution and contrast of ROI images. Our method provides a number of advantages: robustness with noise in projection data and support construction without the need to acquire any additional setup

Rancang Bangun Aplikasi Prediksi Penjualan Pintu Baja dengan Metode Quadratic Trend (Studi Kasus PT. Jaya Bersama Saputra Perkasa)

PT Jaya Bersama Saputra Perkasa adalah perusahaan yang bergerak dalam bidang penjualan macam-macam jenis pintu, seperti pintu rumah baja dan pintu garasi. Penjualan PT Jaya Bersama Saputra Perkasa selalu mengalami kekurangan stock dan mengakibatkan perusahaan harus selalu melakukan pembelian ulang untuk memenuhi target pengiriman ke customer. Hal ini sangat menekan cost budget dalam melakukan shipping. Seharusnya dana yang dikeluarkan dapat dialokasikan untuk keperluan lainnya, misalnya untuk melakukan pameran atau promosi ke berbagai acara/pameran furniture agar masyarakat dapat lebih mengenal pintu rumah dengan bahan baja yang diperjual-belikan oleh PT Jaya Bersama Saputra Perkasa. Agar tidak terjadi kesalahan dalam stocking barang maka diperlukan aplikasi yang dapat memprediksi penjualan unit pintu baja di PT Jaya Bersama Saputra Perkasa. Aplikasi berbasis website yang dibangun dan dirancang menggunakan metode quadratic trend, perhitungan quadratic trend digunakan untuk mendapatkan hasil prediksi pada periode tertentu. Setelah mendapatkan hasil prediksi pada periode tertentu, kemudian dilakukan pengujian dengan menghitung mean square error (MSE). Data yang digunakan dalam pengujian adalah data tahun 2014 sampai data tahun 2018 (60 bulan) dan mendapatkan hasil penelitian untuk mendapatkan hasil error MSE dengan data 2014-2015 (24 bulan) dengan tahun 2016 sebagai target prediksi adalah 11.056,19, lalu dengan data 2014-2016 (36 bulan) dengan tahun 2017 sebagai target prediksi adalah 2.109,10 dan data 20142017 (48 bulan) dengan tahun 2018 sebagai target prediksi adalah 3.270,96. Dan hasil error MSE terkecil ada pada data 2014-2016 (36 bulan) dengan nilai error MSE 2.109,1

Pengaruh Asimetri Informasi Dan Penerapan Good Corporate Governance Terhadap Praktek Manajemen Laba Pada Perusahaan Sektor Property Dan Real Estate Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI)

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship of information asymmetry, implementation of good corporate governance and earnings management practices in property and real estate sector. Information asymmetry measured by using bid ask spread, whereas the practice of good corporate governance proxies by the proportion of independent board, audit committee existence and audit quality. This study is an econometric study by using panel data that taken from the Indonesian Stock Exchange with 22 companies from the property and real estate sector during the period 2009, 2010, 2011 as samples which were selected by using purposive sampling method. Moreover, the analysis method of this study is multiple regression. Hypothesis testing results showed there is a significant negative relation between audit quality and earnings management practices. It means the higher quality audit performed by the independent auditor may reduce the earnings management practices in the company. Furthermore, information asymmetry, the proportion of independent board and audit committee has not proven a significant relation with earnings management practices. Utilization of Bagasse and Molasses for Polyhydroxybutyrate Production by Bacillus sp. SWU01

ABSTRACT   Polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) is natural biodegradable thermoplastic belonging to the polyesters class. In physiological stress, PHB was produced and accumulated in intracellular granules of microorganisms as energy reserves in stress condition. Previously, we isolated the PHB producing bacteria, Bacillus sp. SWU01 from canned tuna wastewater. This research aimed to produce the PHB using bagasse and molasses as a carbon source by Bacillus sp. SWU01. To produce the PHB using bagasse, hydrolysis reaction was performed by cellulase or acid condition to get the reducing sugar. The results showed that enzymatic hydrolysis at the concentration of 0.45 FPU/mL for 48 h increased high content of reducing sugar. The PHB production using modified M9 medium, supplemented with reducing sugar from bagasse or molasses, by Bacillus sp. SWU01 was investigated. The highest PHB production of 2.01 g/L and PHB content constituted up to 60.54% of dry cell mass was obtained by reducing sugar from bagasse as carbon source at 48 h. To characterize functional group and monomer of polymer, the Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), 1H- Nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR) and differential scanning calorimetry technique (DSC) revealed that the polymer extracted from the bacterial stain was PHB. These results suggested that Bacillus sp. strain SWU01 had potential to be the efficient PHB producer from biowaste. Objeto virtual de aprendizaje como guía de orientación digital para la gestión de aulas virtuales en la plataforma LMS Moodle de la institución universitaria de envigado – IUE

El siguiente proyecto de intervención educativa, tiene como propósito implementar una estrategia didáctica que fortalezca el aprendizaje de las funciones de las Aulas virtuales en la plataforma LMS Moodle institucional, a través de un OVA como guía de orientación digital para los docentes de la Institución Universitaria de Envigado, esto con el fin de dar solución al planteamiento del problema el cual radica en la falta de comprensión y apropiación para el manejo y la gestión de las aulas virtuales de aprendizaje institucionales y de la cual surge nuestra pregunta de investigación ¿Cómo fortalecer el aprendizaje de las funciones de las Aulas Virtuales en la plataforma LMS Moodle en los docentes de la Institución Universitaria de Envigado IUE a través de una guía de orientación digital ?. La estrategia didáctica que ahí se propone les permitirá a los docentes poder gestionar de manera puntual con eficiencia y eficacia las asignaturas mediadas digitalmente de acuerdo con los lineamientos institucionales. An Epidemiologic Study of Dental Caries in Preschool Children in the United States by Race and Socioeconomic Level

The prevalence of dental caries in 1,155 white and black preschool children was studied in the United States in 1969 and 1970. Dental Caries Experience in the Deciduous Dentition of Rural Guatemalan Children Ages 6 Months to 7 Years

A study of 528 Guatemalan children indicated that caries prevalence in the deciduous dentition was twice as great as but in the permanent dentition was similar to that for US white children. This is a repeated observation for children of some preindustrial societies. Caries experience was significantly greater in boys.
