Problem Based Learning (PBL) is one method in the learning process that can be an alternative choice solution in the learning process. What and how are the planning steps and the process of implementing the PBL method in increasing student motivation in class XI IPS 2 SMA Negeri 1 Sampang which is the background of the problem in this study which aims to obtain concrete information and steps in the planning and implementation process. the PBL method and the acquisition of student learning scores in increasing student motivation in class XI IPS 2 SMA Negeri 1 Sampang. The research method used is a qualitative approach method. The results of this study concluded that active learning in class XI IPS 2 SMA Negeri 1 Sampang includes three aspects, namely; Cognitive skills, namely initiative, activeness, cooperation, accuracy in answering students have scores above the PP-completeness of 83%. Affective; acceptance, participation, assessment/determination of character, and organization whose percentage of completeness is above 83.33%. Psychomotor; children's movements include perception, readiness, guided movements and complex movements based on observations that show that children follow well by 78.34%

Room space is very important to be protected, but often we travel and forget to lock it so that strangers can easily enter without our permission. Based on the problems that arise, the writer intends to create a tool where we can lock the room door without having to use a conventional key, the author collected some previous research to be developed, so as to create a room door security system via SMS, where we can lock and know the condition of the room door remotely and close, thus can provide a sense of security for us when we want to travel far without having to return home again if we forget to lock the bedroom door

Estimating ensemble average power delivered by a piezoelectric patch actuator to a non-deterministic subsystem

Engineering systems such as aircraft, ships and automotive are considered built-up structures. Dynamically they are taught of as being fabricated from many components that are classified as deterministic subsystems (DS) and non-deterministic subsystems (Non-DS). Structures’ response of the DS is deterministic in nature and analysed using deterministic modelling methods such as finite element method (FEM). The response of Non-DS is statistical in nature and estimated using statistical modelling technique such as statistical energy analysis (SEA). SEA method uses power balance equation, in which any external input to the subsystem must be represented in terms of power. Often, input force is taken as point force and ensemble average power delivered by point force is already well-established. However, the external input can also be applied in the form of moments exerted by a piezoelectric (PZT) patch actuator. In order to be able to apply SEA method for input moments, a mathematical representation for moment generated by PZT patch in the form of average power is needed, which is attempted in this paper. A simply-supported plate with attached PZT patch is taken as a benchmark model. Analytical solution to estimate average power is derived using mobility approach. Ensemble average of power given by the PZT patch actuator to the benchmark model when subjected to structural uncertainties is also simulated using Lagrangian method. These two results are compared and presented in this paper. The effects of size and location of the PZT actuators on the power delivered to the plate are later investigated

Abstract Background Healthcare cannot achieve net-zero carbon without addressing operating theatres. The aim of this study was to prioritize feasible interventions to reduce the environmental impact of operating theatres. Methods This study adopted a four-phase Delphi consensus co-prioritization methodology. In phase 1, a systematic review of published interventions and global consultation of perioperative healthcare professionals were used to longlist interventions. In phase 2, iterative thematic analysis consolidated comparable interventions into a shortlist. In phase 3, the shortlist was co-prioritized based on patient and clinician views on acceptability, feasibility, and safety. In phase 4, ranked lists of interventions were presented by their relevance to high-income countries and low–middle-income countries. Results In phase 1, 43 interventions were identified, which had low uptake in practice according to 3042 professionals globally. In phase 2, a shortlist of 15 intervention domains was generated. In phase 3, interventions were deemed acceptable for more than 90 per cent of patients except for reducing general anaesthesia (84 per cent) and re-sterilization of ‘single-use’ consumables (86 per cent). In phase 4, the top three shortlisted interventions for high-income countries were: introducing recycling; reducing use of anaesthetic gases; and appropriate clinical waste processing. In phase 4, the top three shortlisted interventions for low–middle-income countries were: introducing reusable surgical devices; reducing use of consumables; and reducing the use of general anaesthesia. Conclusion This is a step toward environmentally sustainable operating environments with actionable interventions applicable to both high– and low–middle–income countries

ABSTRACT This study focuses on the claim of policy on Jakarta post by using writing analysis. The researched is interested in analyzing the opinion on The Jakarta Post especially on claim of policy in term of poiitics policy. The objectives of this study are to describe the way claim of policy presented in opinion column of the Jakarta post. And to describe the way of claim of policy defended In this research the researcher uses descriptive qualitative design, because the researcher deals with the data that are in the form of words, rather than numbers and statistics. Therefore, this research used descriptive qualitative design, in which the data were analyzed and interpreted based on theory claim of policy with writing approach. The data source in this research is the claims of policy in opinion column of The Jakarta Post published from Ist to 30th April 2006. using several steps; first of all the researcher categorizes th data into three categories which are Introductory Paragraph, Main Paragraph, and Concluding Paragraph, the data of each categories are presented analyzed and concluded, after the data of the whole categories have already been presented analyzed and concluded, the researcher makes tentative conclusion and continued by making conclusion from the result of analysis and find out how claims of policy were used in the opinion column of the Jakarta Post in term of politics policy. From the whole data presented and analyzed the researcher concludes that the most of the writers of opinion column of The Jakarta Post use funnel type of introductory paragraph, and explicitly state his claim in introductory paragraph. Just one of them does not states the claim explicitly. In defending the claim, most of them use evidence in type of opinion to convince the reader that his claim is true. In concluding paragraph the writer usually express his hope and gives suggestion related to the topic, otherwise gives warning

ANT colony optimization for controller and sensor-actuator location in active vibration control

Developing light weight yet stronger and more flexible panels in aircraft structure to withstand from failure due to vibration has been the interest of many researchers nowadays. Piezoelectric material has been the popular choice to attenuate vibration actively and numerous techniques of optimal control and actuator placement have been proposed. This paper discusses on active vibration control of a simply supported thin plate excited and actuated by piezoelectric patches. Mathematical model of the simply supported plate with piezoelectric patches is derived using Euler-Bernoulli model. The main focus is to find the optimal location of the collocated sensor-actuator and controller gains using a swarm intelligent algorithm called Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) which later verified with Genetic Algorithm (GA). A simply supported plate is taken as a benchmark model to perform simulation study
