Poligami dalam Hukum Islam dan Hukum Positif Indonesia Serta Urgensi Pemberian Izin Poligam di Pengadilan Agama
Penulisan artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dasar hukum berpoligami dalam hukum islam maupun hukum positif di Indonesia serta mengetahui bagaimana urgensi pemberian izin berpoligami di Pengadilan Agama. Dalam tulisan ini menggunakan pendekatan yuridis normatif dengan berbagai teori interpretasi. Pengadilan Agama merupakan lembaga peradilan dibawah Mahkamah Agung yang sangat penting dalam menangani permasalahan mengenai sengketa yang berhubungan dengan agama Islam. Mulai dari perkawinan, kewarisan, wasiat, hibah, wakaf, zakat, infak, sedekah, sampai ekonomi syariah menjadi tugas dan wewenang dari Pengadilan Agama yang sesuai dengan Pasal 49 dan 50 UU No.7 Tahun 1989 tentang Pengadilan Agama yang telah diamandemen dengan UU No.3 Tahun 2006. Dalam Pasal 4 ayat (1) UU No. 1 Tahun 1974 tentang Perkawinan, apabila seorang suami ingin beristri lebih dari seorang maka wajib mengajukan permohonan kepada Pengadilan di daerah tempat tinggalnya (yaitu Pengadilan Agama). Diatur pula dalam pasal-pasal berikutnya dalam pengajuan poligami harus memenuhi syarat-syarat yang sudah ditentukan menurut UU Perkawinan. Pengaturan tentang poligami di hukum positif seakan mempersulit suami untuk poligami, sedangkan hukum islam sendiri tidak terlalu mempersulit seorang suami untuk poligami. Oleh karena itu kedua hukum ini harus saling sinkron agar tidak menimbulkan suatu permasalahan dalam perkawinan khususnya poligami
The Atacama Cosmology Telescope: The LABOCA/ACT Survey of Clusters at All Redshifts
We present a multi-wavelength analysis of eleven Sunyaev Zel'dovich effect
(SZE)-selected galaxy clusters (ten with new data) from the Atacama Cosmology
Telescope (ACT) southern survey. We have obtained new imaging from the Large
APEX Bolometer Camera (345GHz; LABOCA) on the Atacama Pathfinder EXperiment
(APEX) telescope, the Australia Telescope Compact Array (2.1GHz; ATCA), and the
Spectral and Photometric Imaging Receiver (250, 350, and ;
SPIRE) on the Herschel Space Observatory. Spatially-resolved 345GHz SZE
increments with integrated S/N > 5 are found in six clusters. We compute 2.1GHz
number counts as a function of cluster-centric radius and find significant
enhancements in the counts of bright sources at projected radii . By extrapolating in frequency, we predict that the combined
signals from 2.1GHz-selected radio sources and 345GHz-selected SMGs contaminate
the 148GHz SZE decrement signal by ~5% and the 345GHz SZE increment by ~18%.
After removing radio source and SMG emission from the SZE signals, we use ACT,
LABOCA, and (in some cases) new Herschel SPIRE imaging to place constraints on
the clusters' peculiar velocities. The sample's average peculiar velocity

The brain-structural correlates of mathematical expertise
Studies in several domains of expertise have established that experience-dependent plasticity brings about both functional and anatomical changes. However, little is known about how such changes come to shape the brain in the case of expertise acquired by professional mathematicians. Here, we aimed to identify cognitive and brain-structural (grey and white matter) characteristics of mathematicians as compared to non-mathematicians. Mathematicians and non-mathematician academics from the University of Oxford underwent structural and diffusion MRI scans, and were tested on a cognitive battery assessing working memory, attention, IQ, numerical and social skills. At the behavioural level, mathematical expertise was associated with better performance in domain-general and domain-specific dimensions. At the grey matter level, in a whole-brain analysis, behavioural performance correlated with grey matter density in left superior frontal gyrus – positively for mathematicians but negatively for non-mathematicians; in a region of interest analysis, we found in mathematicians higher grey matter density in the right superior parietal lobule, but lower grey matter density in the right intraparietal sulcus and in the left inferior frontal gyrus. In terms of white matter, there were no significant group differences in fractional anisotropy or mean diffusivity. These results reveal new insights into the relationship between mathematical expertise and grey matter metrics in brain regions previously implicated in numerical cognition, as well as in regions that have so far received less attention in this field. Further studies, based on longitudinal designs and cognitive training, could examine the conjecture that such cross-sectional findings arise from a bidirectional link between experience and structural brain changes that is itself subject to change across the lifespan
Structured inquiry-based learning: Drosophila GAL4 enhancer trap characterization in an undergraduate laboratory course.
We have developed and tested two linked but separable structured inquiry exercises using a set of Drosophila melanogaster GAL4 enhancer trap strains for an upper-level undergraduate laboratory methods course at Bucknell University. In the first, students learn to perform inverse PCR to identify the genomic location of the GAL4 insertion, using FlyBase to identify flanking sequences and the primary literature to synthesize current knowledge regarding the nearest gene. In the second, we cross each GAL4 strain to a UAS-CD8-GFP reporter strain, and students perform whole mount CNS dissection, immunohistochemistry, confocal imaging, and analysis of developmental expression patterns. We have found these exercises to be very effective in teaching the uses and limitations of PCR and antibody-based techniques as well as critical reading of the primary literature and scientific writing. Students appreciate the opportunity to apply what they learn by generating novel data of use to the wider research community

Fifteen new risk loci for coronary artery disease highlight arterial-wall-specific mechanisms
Coronary artery disease (CAD) is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Although 58 genomic regions have been associated with CAD thus far, most of the heritability is unexplained, indicating that additional susceptibility loci await identification. An efficient discovery strategy may be larger-scale evaluation of promising associations suggested by genome-wide association studies (GWAS). Hence, we genotyped 56,309 participants using a targeted gene array derived from earlier GWAS results and performed meta-analysis of results with 194,427 participants previously genotyped, totaling 88,192 CAD cases and 162,544 controls. We identified 25 new SNP-CAD associations (P < 5 × 10(-8), in fixed-effects meta-analysis) from 15 genomic regions, including SNPs in or near genes involved in cellular adhesion, leukocyte migration and atherosclerosis (PECAM1, rs1867624), coagulation and inflammation (PROCR, rs867186 (p.Ser219Gly)) and vascular smooth muscle cell differentiation (LMOD1, rs2820315). Correlation of these regions with cell-type-specific gene expression and plasma protein levels sheds light on potential disease mechanisms
The Atacama Cosmology Telescope: Cosmological parameters from three seasons of data
We present constraints on cosmological and astrophysical parameters from
high-resolution microwave background maps at 148 GHz and 218 GHz made by the
Atacama Cosmology Telescope (ACT) in three seasons of observations from 2008 to
2010. A model of primary cosmological and secondary foreground parameters is
fit to the map power spectra and lensing deflection power spectrum, including
contributions from both the thermal Sunyaev-Zeldovich (tSZ) effect and the
kinematic Sunyaev-Zeldovich (kSZ) effect, Poisson and correlated anisotropy
from unresolved infrared sources, radio sources, and the correlation between
the tSZ effect and infrared sources. The power ell^2 C_ell/2pi of the thermal
SZ power spectrum at 148 GHz is measured to be 3.4 +\- 1.4 muK^2 at ell=3000,
while the corresponding amplitude of the kinematic SZ power spectrum has a 95%
confidence level upper limit of 8.6 muK^2. Combining ACT power spectra with the
WMAP 7-year temperature and polarization power spectra, we find excellent
consistency with the LCDM model. We constrain the number of effective
relativistic degrees of freedom in the early universe to be Neff=2.79 +\- 0.56,
in agreement with the canonical value of Neff=3.046 for three massless
neutrinos. We constrain the sum of the neutrino masses to be Sigma m_nu < 0.39
eV at 95% confidence when combining ACT and WMAP 7-year data with BAO and
Hubble constant measurements. We constrain the amount of primordial helium to
be Yp = 0.225 +\- 0.034, and measure no variation in the fine structure
constant alpha since recombination, with alpha/alpha0 = 1.004 +/- 0.005. We
also find no evidence for any running of the scalar spectral index, dns/dlnk =

Forest and woodland replacement patterns following drought-related mortality
Forest vulnerability to drought is expected to increase under anthropogenic climate change, and drought-induced mortality and community dynamics following drought have major ecological and societal impacts. Here, we show that tree mortality concomitant with drought has led to short-term (mean 5 y, range 1 to 23 y after mortality) vegetation-type conversion in multiple biomes across the world (131 sites). Self-replacement of the dominant tree species was only prevalent in 21% of the examined cases and forests and woodlands shifted to nonwoody vegetation in 10% of them. The ultimate temporal persistence of such changes remains unknown but, given the key role of biological legacies in long-term ecological succession, this emerging picture of postdrought ecological trajectories highlights the potential for major ecosystem reorganization in the coming decades. Community changes were less pronounced under wetter postmortality conditions. Replacement was also influenced by management intensity, and postdrought shrub dominance was higher when pathogens acted as codrivers of tree mortality. Early change in community composition indicates that forests dominated by mesic species generally shifted toward more xeric communities, with replacing tree and shrub species exhibiting drier bioclimatic optima and distribution ranges. However, shifts toward more mesic communities also occurred and multiple pathways of forest replacement were observed for some species. Drought characteristics, species-specific environmental preferences, plant traits, and ecosystem legacies govern post drought species turnover and subsequent ecological trajectories, with potential far-reaching implications for forest biodiversity and ecosystem services.Peer reviewe
Correlating preclinical animal studies and human clinical trials of a multifunctional, polymeric nanoparticle
Nanoparticles are currently being investigated in a number of human clinical trials. As information on how nanoparticles function in humans is difficult to obtain, animal studies that can be correlative to human behavior are needed to provide guidance for human clinical trials. Here, we report correlative studies on animals and humans for CRLX101, a 20- to 30-nm-diameter, multifunctional, polymeric nanoparticle containing camptothecin (CPT). CRLX101 is currently in phase 2 clinical trials, and human data from several of the clinical investigations are compared with results from multispecies animal studies. The pharmacokinetics of polymer-conjugated CPT (indicative of the CRLX101 nanoparticles) in mice, rats, dogs, and humans reveal that the area under the curve scales linearly with milligrams of CPT per square meter for all species. Plasma concentrations of unconjugated CPT released from CRLX101 in animals and humans are consistent with each other after accounting for differences in serum albumin binding of CPT. Urinary excretion of polymer-conjugated CPT occurs primarily within the initial 24 h after dosing in animals and humans. The urinary excretion dynamics of polymer-conjugated and unconjugated CPT appear similar between animals and humans. CRLX101 accumulates into solid tumors and releases CPT over a period of several days to give inhibition of its target in animal xenograft models of cancer and in the tumors of humans. Taken in total, the evidence provided from animal models on the CRLX101 mechanism of action suggests that the behavior of CRLX101 in animals is translatable to humans
