Angiosarcoma cutáneo idiopático : presentación de tres casos y revisión de la bibliografía
El angiosarcoma es un tumor vascular maligno, poco frecuente, que deriva de las células endoteliales. Se reconocen tres variantes clínicas: el angiosarcoma cutáneo idiopático o primario (forma más frecuente), el asociado a linfedema crónico y el angiosarcoma post-radioterapia. Presenta una clínica variable, con múltiples diagnósticos diferenciales, resultando esencial el estudio histopatológico y la inmunohistoquímica para arribar al diagnóstico de certeza. Se caracteriza por presentar un alto índice de recidiva local y un alto potencial metastásico, por lo que el tratamiento quirúrgico asociado a radioterapia regional resulta el tratamiento de elección. La quimioterapia y radioterapia se reservan para lesiones irresecables. Se presentan tres casos de angiosarcoma cutáneo idiopático, en pacientes con características epidemiológicas diferentes y se lleva a cabo una revisión bibliográfica.Angiosarcoma is a rare and aggressive malignant tumor of the vascular endothelial cells.
Three clinical variants are recognized: idiopathic or primary cutaneous angiosarcoma
(most common form), angiosarcoma associated with chronic lymphedema and post-
radiotherapy angiosarcoma. It presents variable clinic, with multiple differential diagnosis, being essential histopathological study and immunohisto-chemistry to arrive at an accurate diagnosis. It is characterized by a high rate of local recurrence and a high metastatic potential. Surgical excision associated with regional radiotherapy is recommended treatment. Chemotherapy and radiation therapy are reserved for unresectable lesions. Greenvertising: la preferencia del consumidor por marcas ecológicamente responsables. Caso Falabella “Denim + Verde”
La industria de la moda es de las que mayor contaminación generan a nivel mundial debido al fast fashion para la elaboración de sus prendas, la cual consiste en lanzar nuevas colecciones de ropa de manera acelerada y a bajo costo, produciendo más polución ambiental. Esto significa que en un modelo fast fashion para la producción de un polo de algodón se utilizan alrededor de mil litros de agua y a esto se le suma la deforestación por el excesivo consumo de los cultivos de algodón. De este modo, Falabella, una de las empresas más conocidas de moda rápida reaccionó a la problemática para reivindicar el daño causado a través de su campaña “El denim es + Verde”. Esta campaña impulsó acciones de reciclaje y presentó una nueva línea de prendas con materiales eco amigables. Se utilizó una metodología mixta con variables de estudio cualitativas y cuantitativas. Asimismo, el objetivo principal de la campaña fue incrementar el valor de marca de Falabella frente a los consumidores de moda para construir una visión de responsabilidad social. Dentro de los resultados, se reciclaron 1.3 toneladas de jeans; el 10% se destinó a ventas de segunda mano, el 20% a eco relleno y el 70% de estos jeans fueron transformados en nuevas prendas. El presente caso aspira analizar la creatividad publicitaria de las campañas desde una perspectiva que no solo busca visibilizar la ventaja funcional de sus productos, sino de proyectar nuevas estrategias de comunicación con una visión ética sostenible hacia el futuro.The fashion industry is one of those that generate the most pollution worldwide due to fast fashion for the production of its garments, which consists of launching new clothing collections quickly and at low cost, producing more environmental pollution. This means that in a fast fashion model, around a thousand liters of water are used to produce a cotton polo shirt, and to this is added deforestation due to excessive consumption of cotton crops. In this way, Falabella, one of the best-known fashion companies, quickly reacted to the problem to vindicate the damage caused through its “Denim is + Green” campaign. This campaign promoted recycling actions and presented a new line of clothing with eco-friendly materials. A mixed methodology was used with qualitative and quantitative study variables. Likewise, the main objective of the campaign was to increase Falabella's brand value among fashion consumers to build a vision of social responsibility. Among the results, 1.3 tons of jeans were recycled; 10% went to second-hand sales, 20% to eco-filling and 70% of these jeans were transformed into new garments. This case aims to analyze the advertising creativity of the campaigns from a perspective that not only seeks to make visible the functional advantage of its products, but also to project new communication strategies with a sustainable ethical vision towards the future.Trabajo de suficiencia profesiona
BIOFERTILIZACIÓN A TRAVÉS DEL “BOCASHI” PARA LA MEJORA DE LA PRODUCCIÓN DE CULANTRO (Coriandrium sativum) Y RABANITO (Raphanus sativus), PAKUY 2019
La búsqueda de alternativas de biofertilización que disminuyan la contaminación e
incrementen la producción de los cultivos en horticultura, genera el objetivo de determinar el
efecto de la biofertilización a través del “Bocashi” en la mejora de la producción de culantro
(Coriandrium sativum) y rabanito (Raphanus sativus) Pakuy 2018. La metodología se basó en
un DCR el cual fue distribuido con Bocashi 25%+suelo 75% (T-01), Bocashi 50%+suelo 50%
(T-02), Bocashi 0%+suelo agrícola 100% (T-03), previo un análisis de macro y micronutrientes
del Bocashi a utilizar. Luego del cultivo, se procedió a extraer 25 plantas al azahar de cada
tratamiento y para su medición y evaluación. En el cultivo de culantro, se consideró el tamaño
de la raíz y en el rabanito el peso del bulbo, pero en ambos se realizó la medición de la parte
aérea de la planta. Los resultados que se obtuvieron en el cultivo de rabanito, permiten describir
que, la adición del Bocashi al 50% genera un incremento de 952.49 g en el peso del bulbo por
metro cuadrado de cultivo; en el caso del cultivo de culantro, la adición de la proporción de
25% de Bocashi genera un incremento de 5.8 cm a la longitud aérea de la planta.Tesi

Monoamine oxidase A expression is vital for embryonic brain development by modulating developmental apoptosis
Monoamine oxidases (MAO-A, MAO-B) metabolize biogenic amines and have been implicated in neuronal apoptosis. Although apoptosis is an important process in embryo development, the role of MAO isoenzymes has not been investigated in detail. We found that expression of MAO-A and MAO-B can be detected early on during embryo development. Expression levels remained constant until around midgestation but then dropped to almost undetectable levels toward birth. Similar expression kinetics were observed in the brain. Isoform-specific expression silencing of MAO-A mediated by siRNA during in vitro embryogenesis induced developmental defects, as indicated by a reduction of the crown rump length and impaired cerebral development. These alterations were paralleled by elevated serotonin levels. Similar abnormalities were observed when embryos were cultured in the presence of the MAO-A inhibitor clorgyline or when the transcriptional inhibitor of MAO-A expression Rl was overexpressed. In contrast, no such alterations were detected when expression of MAO-B was knocked down. To explore the underlying mechanisms for the developmental abnormalities in MAO-A knockdown embryos, we quantified the degree of developmental apoptosis in the developing brain. MAO-A knockdown reduced the number of apoptotic cells in the neuroepithelium, which coincided with impaired activation of caspases 3 and 9. Moreover, we observed reduced cyclin Dl levels as an indicator of impaired cell proliferation in MAO-A knockdown embryos. Del divorcio incausado en la legislación ecuatoriana
La terminación del matrimonio al igual que otras instituciones jurídicas, ha sido objeto de análisis por parte de juristas y expertos en Derecho Civil, lo que ha permitido que la legislación ecuatoriana plasme dos formas de terminar el matrimonio por divorcio: de manera contenciosa y por mutuo consentimiento. Para ello se ha considerado a lo largo de las décadas lo establecido en la doctrina jurídica y lo tipificado en legislaciones de mayor avanzada que la nuestra (particularmente la chilena). Sin embargo, ambos tipos de divorcio muestran falencias, ya que el primero está condicionado a causales que resultan harto difíciles de comprobar, y la segunda está condicionada a que ambos muestren su intención de divorciarse, pero el problema radica en que el Código Civil ecuatoriano y el de muchos países no establecen como causal para la terminación del matrimonio la voluntad unilateral expresada por uno de los cónyuges, lo que atenta contra el derecho humano a la paz y a la salud emocional del cónyuge afectado y el de los miembros del núcleo familiar, a más de atentar contra el principio constitucional del libre consentimiento lo que llevó a efectuar una investigación jurídico-doctrinal minuciosa que configure y proponga la figura del divorcio incausado como un nuevo tipo de divorcio dentro del Código Civil ecuatoriano, y que bien puede ser acogida por cualquier legislación del mundo. Este trabajo de investigación se fundamentó en obras nacidas en la Academia y del análisis que al respecto efectuaron los autores, aplicando métodos teóricos y empíricos que conjugados con la técnica de la entrevista y la encuesta, concluyó en una propuesta viable y novedosa. De esta forma se concluirá con una nueva forma de divorciarse, sin tener que presentar causales y sin necesidad de contar con el consentimiento del otro cónyuge, es decir, un divorcio en que el único requerimiento sea la manifestación expresa de la voluntad de uno de los cónyuges, brindándole un tiempo prudencial para que se ratifique en su intensión, a fin de no provocar divorcios express de 24 horas garantizar de esta forma la unidad familiar.

Tuning ordered pattern of Pd species through controlled block copolymer self-assembly
We report a method for the preparation of ordered patterns of Pd species on a substrate based on the use of polystyrene-block-poly(ethylene oxide) copolymer (PS-b-PEO) templates and selective inclusion of palladium (Pd) species in the PEO domains. PS-b-PEO samples of different total molecular masses self-assemble in a cylindrical microphase-separated morphology, in which vertically aligned PEO cylinders, with different diameters depending on the molecular mass, are organized in a hexagonal array of different lateral spacings. The cylindrical nanostructure is maintained after the selective inclusion of Pd species (Pd acetate and Pd nanoparticles (NPs) after reduction of Pd ions of the salt) in the PEO cylinders so that the characteristic sizes (diameters and lateral spacings) of the included Pd species are tuned by the characteristic sizes of the block copolymer (BCP) template, which are regulated by molecular mass. Treatment of nanocomposites at elevated temperatures in air removes the polymer matrix and leads to the formation of arrays of palladium oxide (PdO) NPs covering a solid support. The patterns of PdO NPs are characterized by different particle diameters and gap distances, mirroring the patterns and characteristic nanodimensions of the parent BCPs used as templates

Purpose or ObjectiveExtracranial stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) allows delivering high doses per fraction with high accuracy to the prostatic gland in a low number of fractions.Dose escalation in normofractionaded radiation prostate cancer trials showed an increased toxicity.In order to evaluate the feasibility and toxicity of a regimen of a single dose hypofractionated prostate stereotactic boost a phase II study was undertaken. Self-reported quality of life (QOL) measures were also obtained in order to better define the possible deleterious effect of treatment
Metadata stewardship in nanosafety research: learning from the past, preparing for an "on-the-fly" FAIR future
Introduction: Significant progress has been made in terms of best practice in research data management for nanosafety. Some of the underlying approaches to date are, however, overly focussed on the needs of specific research projects or aligned to a single data repository, and this “silo” approach is hampering their general adoption by the broader research community and individual labs.
Methods: State-of-the-art data/knowledge collection, curation management FAIRification, and sharing solutions applied in the nanosafety field are reviewed focusing on unique features, which should be generalised and integrated into a functional FAIRification ecosystem that addresses the needs of both data generators and data (re)users.
Results: The development of data capture templates has focussed on standardised single-endpoint Test Guidelines, which does not reflect the complexity of real laboratory processes, where multiple assays are interlinked into an overall study, and where non-standardised assays are developed to address novel research questions and probe mechanistic processes to generate the basis for read-across from one nanomaterial to another. By focussing on the needs of data providers and data users, we identify how existing tools and approaches can be re-framed to enable “on-the-fly” (meta) data definition, data capture, curation and FAIRification, that are sufficiently flexible to address the complexity in nanosafety research, yet harmonised enough to facilitate integration of datasets from different sources generated for different research purposes. By mapping the available tools for nanomaterials safety research (including nanomaterials characterisation, non-standard (mechanistic-focussed) methods, measurement principles and experimental setup, environmental fate and requirements from new research foci such as safe and sustainable by design), a strategy for integration and bridging between silos is presented. The NanoCommons KnowledgeBase has shown how data from different sources can be integrated into a one-stop shop for searching, browsing and accessing data (without copying), and thus how to break the boundaries between data silos.
Discussion: The next steps are to generalise the approach by defining a process to build consensus (meta)data standards, develop solutions to make (meta)data more machine actionable (on the fly ontology development) and establish a distributed FAIR data ecosystem maintained by the community beyond specific projects. Since other multidisciplinary domains might also struggle with data silofication, the learnings presented here may be transferable to facilitate data sharing within other communities and support harmonization of approaches across disciplines to prepare the ground for cross-domain interoperability.
