Trayectoria escolar y género en ingeniería civil, el caso de la UAEMéx

En archivos universitarios se obtuvieron los datos de la trayectoria escolar de todos los alumnos matriculados en la licenciatura de ingeniería civil desde su creación en 1956 hasta 2006, conformando una base de datos con 3 630 registros individuales. Aplicando el índice de masculinidad, se analiza la distribución por género del ingreso, el egreso y la titulación. En el periodo 1956-1961 no ingresó ninguna mujer a la carrera, la primera lo hizo en 1962, sólo después de ocho años ingresó la segunda y fue hasta 1972 en que se estabilizó el ingreso femenino. Los índices de masculinidad del ingreso se reducen de 180 hombres por cada mujer en el quinquenio 1961-1965 hasta 3.9 hombres por cada mujer en el quinquenio 2001-2005. Similares comportamientos presentan los índices de masculinidad del egreso y de la titulación profesional. Las mujeres presentan índices mayores que los hombres en las relaciones egreso/ingreso y titulación/ingreso, lo que apunta a una mayor eficiencia terminal en el estrato femenino

Enhanced CO2 Methanation by New Microstructured Reactor Concept and Design

A novel multichannel minireactor with channel internal diameter in the range of millimeters has been conceptually designed and constructed. Its configuration confers to the new concept reactor some features and advantages compared to conventional fixed-bed reactors g.e. better mass-transfer, avoid hot-spots formation, increased performance (10–20%). Consequently, this new reactor concept is ideal to be applied to exothermic reactions such as the Sabatier reaction that demands continuous removal of the heat produced to avoid hot-spot formation and the sintering of the catalyst. Thanks to its configuration, this reactor could control effectively the heat generated by the reaction and several tests were carried out to validate the reactor features. The results obtained demonstrate that the catalysts activity in the reaction is improved with the application of the novel reactor respect the conventional fixed- and fluidized-bed ones and neither catalyst sintering, nor pressure drop was appreciated during the catalytic tests. At the best reaction conditions, Tecnalia’s multichannel minireactor can handle 820 Nm3/h of CO2 per square meter of channel section showing the enormous potential of the new reactor concept.The authors gratefully acknowledge the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness (MINECO) funding under the project RENOVAGAS (RTC-2014-2975-3). Tropical forest remnants as shelters of avian diversity within a tourism development matrix in Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico

Tropical forests have undergone extensive transformation because of increasing tourism development, in addition to historic clearing for agricultural and cattle grazing activities. Altogether, these activities have had an important effect on bird diversity, reducing the habitat available to many species. In this study, the role of tropical forest remnants located between different land use types was evaluated for species diversity, composition, and distribution of the bird community at Akumal region in Quintana Roo, Mexico. Point counts were used to quantify the avifauna by habitat, and Shannon´s and Simpson´s diversity index were used to determine bird diversity. Additionally, bird species were classified according to seasonality and trophic guild by type of habitat. A total of 160 species and 50 families was recorded, of which 100 species were permanent residents, 47 winter visitors and 11 transients. Mature tropical forest and tropical forest remnants had higher species richness than those of modified environments. This study supports the importance of tropical forest remnants as shelters for bird species in landscapes with tourism developments, and the relevance of these remnants to maintaining high bird diversity

Redescripción del género Cryphidium (Cryphaeaceae, Bryophyta), con notas sobre su taxonomía

Cryphidium leucocoleum (Mitt.) A. Jaeger is a member of Cryphaeaceae, a mainly pleurocarpic moss family. The finding of this controversial species in the Pampa Region allowed us to carry out a comprehensive study about its taxonomy and morphology. As a result, the first complete description and illustration of the species are here presented. Additionally, the nomenclatural identity of other species is clarified.Cryphidium leucocoleum (Mitt.) The Asian Pohlia trematodontea, is a new synonym of Pohlia elongata (Bryophyta, Bryales)

Pohlia trematodontea was first described by C. Müller (1853) as Bryum trematodonteum based on material collected in India, and moved to Webera by A. Jaeger (1875). Crosby et al. (1999), considered the species as insufficiently know. During a visit to the Natural History Museum of London in England (BM), we were able to locate the type material, which consists of contorted leaves when dry and a long capsule (about 5 mm), with a distinct neck (2,6 mm long). The plants of P. trematodontea exhibit thick-walled leaf cells, paroicous sexual condition and endostome teeth yellow, none or narrowly perforate. Our observations confirm that P. trematodontea is indistinguishable from P. elongata, a species widely distributed in temperate, tropical and subtropical regions of the world (Suárez & Schiavone, 2011). Material fructificado de Chenia lorentzii (Bryophyta, Pottiaceae) hallado en Argentina y una evaluación del valor taxonómico del esporofito en el género Chenia

En la presente contribución, el esporofito de Chenia lorentzii es descrito en detalle y se proveen fotomicrografías. Además, el rol de los caracteres esporofíticos es discutido en un contexto filogenético. Para ello, primero, se lleva a cabo un análisis filogenético de un dataset reducido de géneros de Pottiaceae empleando marcadores moleculares (nad5, rps4, 26S) y datos combinados (morfología y marcadores moleculares). Luego, los caracteres esporofíticos y gametofíticos son mapeados en el árbol de moléculas y su ajuste a la filogenia es medida en base a su número de pasos extras y el número de nodos diagnosticados. Los resultados sugieren que los caracteres esporofíticos deben ser evaluados con precaución al momento de proponer cambios nomenclaturales a nivel genérico.In the present contribution, the sporophyte of Chenia lorentzii is described in detail and microphotographs are provided. In addition, the role of sporophytic characters is discussed in a phylogenetic context. To accomplish this task, first, a phylogenetic analysis of a reduced dataset of Pottiaceae genera was carried out by using molecular data (nad5, rps4, 26S) and combined data (morphology and molecular markers). Then, gametophytic and sporophytic characters were mapped onto the molecular tree and their fit to the phylogeny was assessed on the basis of their extra steps and the number of diagnosed nodes. Results suggest that sporophytic characters should be treated with caution when nomenclatural generic changes are proposed.Fil: Flores, Jorge Rafael. Cryptanalysis of a group key establishment protocol

In this paper, we analyze the security of a group key establishment scheme proposed by López-Ramos et al. This proposal aims at allowing a group of users to agree on a common key. We present several attacks against the security of the proposed protocol. In particular, an active attack is presented, and it is also proved that the protocol does not provide forward secrecy

Gestión de requerimientos de bienes y/o servicios e indagación de mercado en una institución pública del Callao, 2023

La presente investigación tiene como objetivo, determinar la relación que existe entre la Gestión de Requerimientos de Bienes y/o Servicios e Indagación de Mercado en una institución pública del Callao, 2023. El enfoque de la investigación es cuantitativo de tipo básica, con diseño correlacional, no experimental, transversal. El método utilizado fue el hipotético deductivo, la población y muestra se encuentra establecida por 32 operadores técnicos logísticos, la técnica utilizada es la encuesta y como instrumento el cuestionario, el cual fue validado por expertos, con un grado de confiabilidad en la Gestión de requerimiento de bienes y/o servicios de 0.858 y en Indagación de mercado de 0.880. Se indica que el nivel de consistencia de los instrumentos es buena y superior al nivel de 0.70 por lo cual se consideran los instrumentos fiables para la aplicación en la presente investigación
