Communicating nationalism in a changing Europe: The media coverage of Catalan’s attempt at independence

Since 2008, Europe is immersed in a situation of political and social upheaval marked by, among other processes – such as the Brexit, the Scottish referendum on independence or the growth of new populist parties – , the strengthening of nationalism in Catalonia. In this context, the role of the media is crucial, since they are the main transmitters of what occurs abroad and, depending on how they present the information, a spread of pro-independence trends in regions with a historically strong nationalist sentiment throughout the continent can be more or less likely. In order to know the differences regarding the coverage of nationalism, this study applies a Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) to the text present in the main article on the Catalan referendum of October 1st, 2017 published online by the most-read newspapers in Portugal, Switzerland, UK, Italy, Scotland and Northeast Italy. The analysis concludes that the media not only report differently depending on the characteristics of the territory where they operate, but also that some of them use the information as a tool to indoctrinate society

Perspectivas del transporte de carga terrestre en Perú

Este ensayo se divide principalmente en tres partes: La primera pretende mostrar todas las bondades, fortalezas y oportunidades del mercado Peruano, visto desde las cifras que revelan los organismos internacionales, el ministerio de transporte como ente principal del gobierno en el tema, la banca central y las instituciones privadas que filtran constantemente la información respecto al transporte terrestre, la segunda parte es un análisis detallado de los factores intrínsecos del sector, su comportamiento y articulación con los ámbitos y familias logísticas, las principales cifras y gráficos de participación de flotas y composición vehicular, y por último la tercera parte que se encarga de mostrar las principales fuentes de generación de carga vistas como las empresas y los posibles clientes que encontraría una compañía Colombiana, compensada desde luego con su actual presencia en Colombia, además de una revisión general de las empresas de transporte terrestre más grandes en Perú que a pesar de ocupar aproximadamente un 2% del mercado y pertenecer a grandes grupos empresariales, tienen una participación importante en la movilización de productos de compañías reconocidas

La posada en marxa del nou espai europeu d'ensenyament superior implica nous reptes a l'hora d'abordar la formació dels professionals de la gestió cultural i la gestió del patrimoni. No es tracta només d'elaborar uns plans formatius més o menys complets, sinó també de ser capaços d'assolir el repte de donar resposta a les demandes dels professionals de la cultura -gestors culturals i museòlegs- davant d'una realitat cada cop més complexa, en constant evolució i arrelada al territori i a la proximitat amb la ciutadania. En definitiva, es tracta de ser capaços de soldar la fractura existent entre una pràctica de la gestió sense espais per a la formació i la reflexió, i una generació de nous professionals sortits de les aules però amb un profund desconeixent del que representa el dia a dia de la gestió cultural al nostre país. Per a aconseguir-ho cal evitar una sèrie de perills, com ara una excessiva fragmentació dels continguts, o resoldre aquesta possible fractura mitjançant una orientació formativa aplicada que basi el discurs en l'anàlisi d'estudis de cas i bones pràctiques

Revisió de la pedagogia en la formació d’escenògrafs al segle XXI

El títol d’aquest treball encapçala una reflexió analítica i comparativa sobre quina hauria de ser la formació de l’escenògraf avui. Revisa el model pedagògic que actualment s’està desenvolupant a l’Escola Superior d’Art Dramàtic (ESAD) de l’Institut del Teatre de Barcelona i d’altres centres formatius d’escenografia a partir de contraposar el concepte escenogràfic tradicional, de comprensió constructiva i interpretativa, a un d’estètica performativa i postmodern. La tesi defensa que actualment les metodologies i els coneixements que estem utilitzant en la majoria de centres de formació en escenografia estan en decalatge amb la concepció de l’escena contemporània.Habitualment, les metodologies que s’apliquen en la formació de l’escenògraf encara es fonamenten massa en estratègies de dissenyque bàsicament tenen en compte el sentit geomètric i interpretatiu de l’escenografia. Es tracta d’una concepció d’origen modern. Aquest fet implica que, entre altres coses, en la formació es deixin de banda conceptes d’espacialitat no interpretatives i restin marginals concepcions performatives com l’atmosfera. Al mateix temps, l’actual escenògraf en formació, poc en contacte amb les tècniques de comunicació que proporcionen els mitjans de comunicació de masses o l’art digital, perd lapossibilitat d’enriquir la seva narrativitat mitjançant estratègies que ja fa molt de temps que han estat validades per l’escena i l’art contemporani.L’article vol establir els fonaments conceptuals i metodològics que ajudin a actualitzar el model pedagògic en la formació dels escenògrafs del segle xxi

Prototipo de aplicación para la gestión de facturación

El presente Trabajo de Fin de Carrera pretende hacer el seguimiento de la construcción de una aplicación destinada a un entorno web y que cubra las necesidades de un gestor de facturación. El proyecto tiene su punto de partida en la definición de la estructura teórica del aplicativo. Para lograr dicho cometido se realiza un estudio de requisitos tanto a nivel funcional como no funcional y se imponen una serie de hitos y objetivos finales. La segunda fase tiene un punto de vista formativo. En este periodo se adquieren conocimientos de bases de datos y en especial del modelo entidad-relación. Por otra parte, se realiza una familiarización con diferentes tecnologías que se usarán en el proyecto, con Struts e Hibernate como principales protagonistas. Una vez finalizado el aprendizaje y conociendo que rol ocupará cada tecnología se decide la arquitectura definitiva del sistema y se diseña la base de datos de la aplicación. Durante el periodo de implementación, los diferentes módulos que contiene el aplicativo serán construidos y unificados. Será necesario también validar el correcto desarrollo de los módulos con pruebas y verificaciones de requerimientos. El resultado final es una aplicación que da vida a un gestor de facturación y que funciona siguiendo una arquitectura web con un servidor y uno o varios clientes que pueden hallarse en una intranet o en Internet. En resumen, este proyecto permitirá seguir la evolución de la construcción del sistema, así como familiarizarse con distintas herramientas usadas en el desarrollo de aplicaciones web como Java, Struts, Hibernate, Spring o SSL

Difficulties that the students that enter to the 7th level of the Básica General Clelia F. de Martínez present in the learning of english

It is our concern that students from Pre-Media that enter lo the 7°' level of the Educación Básica General present some difficulties in learning English. The limited formation of the teachers, the lack of appropriate didactic material and the lack of methodological guides among others, can be mentioned as some of the possible reasons of this situation. With this research it is tried to know through a survey which the main difficulties the students that enter to the 7°' level of the Básica General Clelia F.de Martínez have. The application of a test of knowledge, which has been nominated as a diagnostic test of previous knowledge, let us to know which are the topics the students do not master and which are those they master beuer. Through this diagnostic test, it is our purpose tú detect, taken into account the topics that the students have developed in the elementary level from 1° to 6° level, if exists differences in the academic performance of the students that come from rural arca schools in comparison with those who come from urban arca schools

The Generational Dimension in Transitions: a Theoretical Review

The aim of this article is to question the notions of ‘generation’ and ‘transitions’ from a theoretical perspective by making a brief historical incursion into the sociology of generations. This review will explore the latest ideas on youth transitions to establish theoretical bridges between the different authors, and between the classic and modern approaches. It also takes a deeper look at an emerging theoretical model that seeks to connect these two important issues, transitions and the notion of generation. The debate focuses on how youth transitions are conceptualised from a micro perspective as individual and individualised processes, underlining the idea that they are based on specific macro concepts of ‘youth’ in generational terms. The concept of social generation allows the micro aspects of transitions to be associated with the historical situation in which they occur. This theoretical approach proposes that young people’s transitional behaviours are subject to the mechanisms of intergenerational change, but also notes that transitions can be differentiated according to the position they occupy in the social structure. In summary, this article supports the idea that youth transitions are different in their manifestations, although they may have a similar generational basis. The aim is therefore to introduce a broader theoretical view that includes the predecessors and successors of the classics, and serves as a point of departure for an approach designed to understand the formats of the new ‘youth status’, and hence, offer a more accurate scientific explanation for examining the overworked notions of generation and transition.2017-1
