Enabling technologies daily nursing work and its practical implications
In the health area, technological and scientific advances are paramount for the development of innovative technologies used in the treatment of diseases. Likewise, several categories of technologies are also useful in numerous activities for organizational management, resources management (medicines, data and information sets and people, among other) in the health field. Technologies are essential in work environments, but they also have implications, directly, for professionals who handle and operate them. Therefore, this study aims to identify the main technologies used by nursing professionals (nurses and technicians in nursing) and their impacts on work. Results were obtained through literature review, prioritizing case studies. Was carried out in at Scopus, PubMed, Web of Science, Emerald and Science Direct. Two analyses were conducted, bibliometrics, in order to explore the main data of the articles (years of publications, scientific journals and more frequent terms) and qualitative (highlight the main contributions of articles regarding the researched topic). In qualitative analysis, the articles were submitted to filtering procedures, ordered and selected for full reading. Technologies have potential to improve or create obstacles to the performance at work, health and well-being of the professionals. Health Information Technology was widely disseminated in case studies analyzed; it reduces informational and technical burden at work, access to support from colleagues in large centers and decision-making support, among others positive impacts
Identification of the causal factors for bruising and Fractures in broilers: a case study
Due to the competitiveness between companies and greater demands from the consumers regarding the products supplied, quality becomes paramount. This article aimed identify the factors that cause bruising and fractures in broilers, using quality tools. The study was carried out over two work shifts at a company located in the Midwest region of Paraná. For this, intensive observations and data collection were performed in the chicken reception sector. The quality tools used were flowchart, check
sheet, Pareto diagram, Ishikawa diagram and 5W1H. The main causes identified were classified in relation to the Measure (density of broilers), Environment (transport distance), Method (broilers picking) and Labor (lack of training)
Lean office: administrative value stream mapping in a routine of work in a public organ
Over the years, Lean manufacturing was found in increasing development and has been gaining more space in their respective universes, however, organizations that decide to apply the philosophy Lean in its processes focus only on manufacturing processes at the expense of areas administrative. Based on this, the present study aimed to propose improvements to a family of current administrative processes in a Federal Public Agency, applying principles and concepts of Lean Office. This work was developed through analysis of historical records information system and Value Stream Mapping, it was possible to select a target family to study, map the current state of processes, identifying their lead times and losses / waste, create a plan of action and then propose feasible improvements in order to reduce them or eliminate them. However, it notes that there is a reduction of around 82% in time enters the early stages and process end in evidence, checking that lean principles show themselves capable of offering good results also for the administrative sectors
Lean office : administrative value stream mapping in a routine of work in a public organ
Over the years, Lean manufacturing was found in increasing development and has been gaining more space in their respective universes, however, organizations that decide to apply the philosophy Lean in its processes focus only on manufacturing processes at the expense of areas administrative. Particle-flow reconstruction and global event description with the CMS detector
The CMS apparatus was identified, a few years before the start of the LHC operation at CERN, to feature properties well suited to particle-flow (PF) reconstruction: a highly-segmented tracker, a fine-grained electromagnetic calorimeter, a hermetic hadron calorimeter, a strong magnetic field, and an excellent muon spectrometer. A fully-fledged PF reconstruction algorithm tuned to the CMS detector was therefore developed and has been consistently used in physics analyses for the first time at a hadron collider. For each collision, the comprehensive list of final-state particles identified and reconstructed by the algorithm provides a global event description that leads to unprecedented CMS performance for jet and hadronic tau decay reconstruction, missing transverse momentum determination, and electron and muon identification. This approach also allows particles from pileup interactions to be identified and enables efficient pileup mitigation methods. The data collected by CMS at a centre-of-mass energy of 8 TeV show excellent agreement with the simulation and confirm the superior PF performance at least up to an average of 20 pileup interactions
