O potencial inovador e de co-produção social em soluções de regeneração urbana / The innovative potential and social co-production in urban regeneration solutions

A procura de soluções baseadas na natureza (NBS), no âmbito do Programa Quadro Comunitário Horizonte 2020, é um exemplo de como os desafios societais têm vindo a assumir a responsabilidade de reformular o espaço urbano a partir da relação dos cidadãos com o seu meio e do aumento da inclusão social, a par da resiliência climática e hídrica e do aumento da biodiversidade. Como resposta, o projeto URBINAT propõe uma abordagem colaborativa de co-produção, co-design, co-implementação no desenho de soluções de regeneração urbana baseadas em dois eixos principais: por um lado arte e cultura e, por outro lado, mas em ação conjunta, a economia social e solidária. Se no primeiro eixo objetiva-se evidenciar as ferramentas artísticas que se pode dispor para processos de co-criação de soluções nas comunidades, no segundo procura-se evidenciar as potencialidades que a economia social inovadora traz para a regeneração e inclusão social e económica das comunidades. O presente texto procura explorar os contributos socialmente inovadores destes dois eixos, em contextos de regeneração de zonas urbanas massificadas. O presente texto foi elaborado em 2017 e reflete a experiência de constituição do consórcio URBINAT que nasceu como candidato à concessão de financiamento para a criação de uma rede de cidades em que parcerias multissetoriais irão fomentar a inovação social para integrar bairros marginalizados num desenvolvimento urbano diferenciado

Extraction, chemical characterization, and antioxidant activity of bioactive plant extracts

Natural extracts have been proposed as preservatives to increase the safety of various food products. In this work, the phytochemical and antioxidant profiles of French lavender (Lavandula stoechas), lemon balm, basil, tarragon, salvia, and spearmint extracts were studied. The results show that hydroethanolic extracts may be more effective as biopreservatives if moderate temperatures are used in the extraction process, as they revealed higher phenolic content. Technological potential of lactic acid bacteria isolated from Portuguese goat’s raw milk cheeses

In this work, a total of 97 MRS-grown and 135 M17-grown lactic acid bacteria strains were isolated from 20 goat’s raw milk cheeses, and their antimicrobial, acidifying, and proteolytic activities were determined in vitro. Principal component analyses adjusted to a subset of 84 promising isolates evidenced that, for MRS isolates, antagonism against Staphylococcus aureus correlated well with higher acidification potential, whereas for M17 isolates, the antagonisms against S. aureus and Listeria monocytogenes were more correlated. The outcomes highlighted various strains with pathogen inhibition ability and satisfactory technological properties that may be useful for the development of a customised starter culture.Silva acknowledges the financial support provided by FCT through the Ph.D. grant SFRH/BD/137801/2018. How different are girls and boys as bullies and victims? Comparative perspectives on gender and age in the bullying dynamics

Bullying involves aggressive behaviors with the intention to harm others, including manifestations of systematic abuse of power. Two types of bullying can be considered: physical and psychological. Students may get involved in bullying dynamics as bullies, victims, or both-aggressive victims. The literature defines bullying as a global phenomenon, affecting both girls and boys. Therefore, Portuguese schools are no exception, with several studies from North to South of the country demonstrating the presence of bullying in schools, both in elementary and middle schools. The aim of this study is to elaborate the differences and experiences by both genders, boys and girls, in the current dynamics of school bullying. Thus, answering the question-how different are girls and boys as bullies and victims? In addition, it intends to impart the acquired knowledge and raise awareness of the implications of this social context in which Portuguese children are currently involved. The results obtained from a sample of 1147 students attending the 1st cycle of Portuguese education (elementary schools) were in line with previous studies. In order to enrich the literature, bullies, victims, and aggressive victims were characterized in detail. Remote psychological intervention in pandemic times: from literature review to professional reflection

No contexto atual de pandemia de COVID-19, tornou-se imperiosa a utilização das tecnologias para a prática de intervenções psicológicas à distância, na tentativa de mitigar o potencial impacto desta situação na saúde mental dos indivíduos, sem aumentar o risco de infeção e propagação do vírus. A revisão de literatura inicial teve por objetivo analisar a evidência científica sobre o sucesso e as características deste tipo de intervenção, por comparação com as interven ções psicológicas presenciais. Os dados, ainda que não consensuais, demonstram poucas dife renças significativas, sobretudo considerando a perspetiva do cliente e a aliança terapêutica. No entanto, diversos autores alertam para as diferenças entre os dois tipos de intervenção, na medida em que só em presença se consegue desenvolver uma relação terapêutica efetiva e de qualidade. CLIMA, AMBIENTE E SAÚDE: UM RESGATE HISTÓRICO

Este artigo teve por objetivo a realização de uma revisão teórica acerca da Climatologia Médica e sua relação com a saúde humana. A metodologia consistiu em uma revisão bibliográfica e consultas em acervos, visando coletar diversas fontes e informações acerca da interação sociedade natureza, bem como da climatologia médica, buscando correlacionar o ambiente e o clima com a saúde humana. Por meio do resgate histórico demonstrou-se que houve uma grande mudança de como o clima é visto pela sociedade e pelos acadêmicos. Há vários estudos que indicam que as mudanças climáticas nas diversas escalas (global, regional e local) influenciam direta e indiretamente a saúde humana, seja influenciando a proliferação de vetores de doenças e agentes infecciosos ou criando condições favoráveis para o aumento de casos por questões inerentes a uma determinada doença

Estudo das tendências em Relações Públicas: Análise dos Trabalhos focados em Comunicação, inovação e tecnologias da Abrapcorp de 2015 a 2020

This article analyzes the results of a scientific study on the papers presented in the working group "Communication, Innovation and Technology" of the Brazilian Association of Researchers in Organizational Communication and Public Relations (Abrapcorp) in the period from 2015 to 2020. The methodological procedures used were: bibliographic research, literature review, mapping, content analysis and classification. Content analysis was selected as a methodological resource to map the themes of the papers presented at the aforementioned working group and highlight the most studied objects, research methods and techniques, as well as scientific advances. We listed five main research trends in innovation within Organizational Communication and Public Relations.Este artigo analisa os resultados de um estudo científico sobre os trabalhos apresentados no grupo de trabalho "Comunicação, Inovação e Tecnologia" da Associação Brasileira de Pesquisadores em Comunicação Organizacional e Relações Públicas (Abrapcorp) no período de 2015 a 2020. Os procedimentos metodológicos utilizados foram: pesquisa bibliográfica, revisão de literatura, mapeamento, análise de conteúdo e classificação. A análise de conteúdo foi selecionada como recurso metodológico para mapear as temáticas dos trabalhos apresentados no referido grupo de trabalho e destacar os objetos mais estudados, métodos e técnicas de pesquisa, bem como avanços científicos. Evaluation of the Appropriateness of Thyroid Fine-Needle Aspiration

This study aims to perform an integrative literature review on FNAB of the thyroid and its current contributions facing thyroid nodules, as an important diagnostic tool to eliminate early thyroid cancer, a recurrent pathology in offices. Regarding the methods, because this is an integrative review of literature, through a descriptive study, we used databases such as Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (Medline/PubMed), Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) and Virtual Health Library (VHL). The query was performed using the controlled descriptors from DeCS/MeSH: "thyroid nodule", "fine needle biopsy", "thyroid", "liquid-based cytology", "molecular test". Moreover, as a result we obtained a general review about the appropriateness of FNAB of the thyroid, an efficient and reliable diagnostic method in the decision and selection of patients who will need surgery. However, this method presents some limitations, such as the need for improvement in the quality of the sample collection or in its interpretation, limitations that can be reduced, decreasing the cases of false positives and negatives, when collected by experienced professionals, guided by ultrasound, and can be combined with color Doppler, as well as, seek opinions from other specialists. The present study also addressed the new diagnostic methods for thyroid nodules, such as liquid-based cytology, used as a technique in conjunction with conventional smears when ancillary techniques are applied, and molecular tests, which have given professionals the opportunity to provide a more accurate evaluation in cases of indeterminate nodules. With this, we reiterate the importance of identifying the best individualized strategy for the patient, preventing unnecessary procedures and offering improved quality of life
