In this article, I would like to make an attempt at a kind of return (probably incomplete and limited) to a unique, due to the potential of its content and forms, process of education of a child through visual arts (optical arts, visual arts) that allows the child to perceive, understand and create the surrounding iconosphere, gradually acquiring competences connected with “visual literacy”. The activities that foster such an activity of the child do not abandon the traditional assumptions of “education through art”, but complement them with new challenges and perspectives. The area of analysis, pointing to theoretical foundations and a review of literature, is reduced in the article to a discourse on the importance of visual literacy as one of the basic human competences and the possibility of using the potential of visual arts in the process of preparing children, already at the level of middle and late childhood, to become visually competent persons in the future.W artykule podjęto próbę swoistego powrotu (zapewne niepełnego i ograniczonego) do unikalnej, ze względu na potencjał jej treści i form, edukacji dziecka przez sztuki wizualne (optical arts, visual arts), pozwalającej mu odbierać, rozumieć i kreować otaczającą je ikonosferę, stopniowo zdobywając kompetencje związane z „alfabetyzacją wizualną”.

DOI:https://doi.org/10.14746/ikps.2019.26.14Chronic condition may, in time, become a specific kind of „stigma” that determines the formation of a specific “conveyor belt” which determines the trajectories of the fate of children and adolescents. Analysing the functioning of children and adolescents with a chronic condition, for which the school should provide (as for other students) the conditions of learning, both in the cognitive and in the directional aspects, one may indicate not only the imperfections of educational activities, but also a myth of noble ideas inscribed in the function of school, as a place of universal development of every student. The article is a proposal of employing, within the process of educating children and adolescents with a chronic condition, an eclectic model of activities, based on their complexity and sequentiality. The model refers to models proposed by Frederick C. Thorne, or Richard James, used in situations of crisis intervention: the equilibrium model, the cognitive model, and the social change model.Hanna Krauze-Sikorska, Children and adolescents with a chronic condition in the public school space – in search of an effective model of psy-chopedagogical support. Today, young children are growing up in a new cultural context in which the evolution of technology has created new opportunities of play. As adults, however, we are faced with the challenge of introducing the child to the world of ICT tools, to give them the opportunity to learn by playing and play by learning. Likewise, we should make it possible for them to acquire skills that are essential for modern people, such as creativity, mobility, and an analytical and synthetic view of the surrounding world. On the basis of the subject literature and conducted research, the article aims to answer questions concerning the essence of digital play and its significance in the learning process of the child at preschool age. It also discusses the requirements that an adult (parent, teacher) must meet in order for digital play to find its place in the educational space and become an important element of preparing the child for the world in which reality merges with the virtual world. &nbsp

She points to, for example, the meaning of the symbolism of children’s theatre and its potential for discovering and transgressing oneself

Micro- and Macro-context in the Process of Systemic Psycho-pedagogical Diagnosis of Children and Adolescents with Learning Difficulties

    Get PDF
The process of diagnosing children and adolescents with learning difficulties is considered to be the initial and simultaneously the basic link of building a constructive process concentrated on prophylaxis and therapy to assist and support children’s development and activities. This article tries to determine the place diagnostic procedure should take up in the multi-faceted intervention system to help children and adolescents with learning difficulties. I present in it assumptions based on the systemic (or even systemic – constructivist) model, though I realize that such an approach does not facilitate the diagnosis because it requires opening up to dialogue with a “client” and the environments in which he or she operates, to view the problems of children and adolescents from different perspectives, including but not limited to the biographical perspective. The main aspect I focus on are the conditions to be fulfilled in order for the realization of the diagnostic process in systemic terms. The assumptions of the systemic approach in diagnosis are very inspiring both theoretically and practically, but their real inclusion into diagnostic practice raises dilemmas and doubts as we are faced with continuous challenges.3319332Studia Edukacyjn

Net Art – the new expanse of adolescent’s artistic creation

Liquid postmodernity, according to Zygmunt Bauman, further complicates youth existence. Questions about how to live wisely, happily and in agreement with oneself and others are becoming harder and harder to answer. The youth searches for answers to those questions through the process of artistic creativity, which helps to integrate brain activity, emotions and imagination. The language of art becomes a language of communication with oneself and others. The changes in culture, like the change of its character from verbal to audiovisual, which were created by new media caused artistic creations to go beyond the realm of materiality – in effect we are dealing with new ways of creating. The product appears in cyberspace, and the process of using virtual space to present one’s art becomes a conceptualization of reflective identity. “Electronic narcotisation”, according to pessimists, negates the “real” creative output of youth, because more and more technological creations appear on internet portals such as www.deviantart.com, www.digart.pl or www.tumblr.com. However, it appears that we shouldn’t fear uniformity of artistic creations made by multimedia tools, because, as Saul Bellow stressed, everyone has a bunch of their own poems at their disposal. Cyberspace only ensures new means of presenting them
