    Anisotropic and frame dependent chaos of suspended strings from a dynamical holographic QCD model with magnetic field

    We investigate both from a qualitative as well as quantitative perspective the emergence of chaos in the QCD confining string in a magnetic field from a holographic viewpoint. We use an earlier developed bottom-up solution of the Einstein-Maxwell-Dilaton action that mimics QCD and its thermodynamics quite well. Surprisingly, our predictions depend on the used frame: the magnetic field tends to suppress the chaos in both perpendicular and parallel directions relative to the magnetic field in the string frame whilst in the Einstein frame, the chaos suppression only happens in the perpendicular direction, with an enhanced chaos along the magnetic field. The amount of suppression/enhancement in both frames does depend on the relative orientation of the string and magnetic field.Comment: 26 pages, many figure

    Precipitating Factors of Psoriasis in North Indian Population

    Aim: This study aims to study precipitating factors of psoriasis in the north Indian population. Material & Method:Two hundred twenty-eight psoriasis patients regardless of age, sex, religion,occupation, attending the skin, and V.D. outpatients Department, B.R.D. Medical College, Gorakhpurfor were taken because of the subject of this study. The bulk of patients belonged to the Eastern U.P.and adjoining areas of Bihar and Nepal. The clinical criteria for diagnosis of psoriasis were thepresence of Erythematous and papulosquamous lesions with loosely adherent silvery-white scales.The auspitz's sign was demonstrated all told the cases. The detailed clinical history and examinationwere recorded. Each patient was categorized into mild to severe psoriasis. Result: The maximumpercentage of cases was aggravated by weather (winter), 55.26%, next to that was trauma 27.19%, and least after infections 4.35%. The summer and spring seasons showed an improved effecton the condition of psoriasis. Alcohol, smoking, and mental stress found no relation with psoriasis.In most cases, where the infection was associated with the disease, it had been aggravated only inchildren, and young adults and lesions were of guttate type. Pregnancy had no effect in 25.43% ofcases, while the disease was improved in 3.50% of patients and worsen in 4.35% of cases.     Aim: This original research article aims to study Psoriatic Arthritis in the Eastern Part of Uttar Pradesh. Material & Method: Two hundred twenty-eight patients of psoriasis regardless of age, sex, religion, occupation, attending the skin, and V. D. outpatients Department, B.R.D. The detailed clinical history and examination were recorded with Tests for Rheumatoid factor and serum uric acid, Radiographs of both hands and feet, Radiographs of the lumbosacral Spine and both sacroiliac joints and Radiographs of affected joints (if any). Each patient was categorised into mild to severe psoriasis. Result: The total number of psoriatic arthritis cases was found, 26 of which male were 17 and female were 9. The maximum number of Arthritis cases, 18.5%, were seen with severe disease (PASI score > 15) with higher occurrence in males. The maximum number of joints involved distal interphalangeal joint was 69.2 3%, and the minimum number of joints involved was significant joint 7.69%. Conclusion: Psoriasis care is unbalanced, with men being more likely to undergo specialist treatment than women, causing higher distal interphalangeal (D.I.P.) joint arthropathy

    Analyzing the discharge regime of a large tropical river through remote sensing, ground-based climatic data, and modeling

    This study demonstrates the potential for applying passive microwave satellite sensor data to infer the discharge dynamics of large river systems using the main stem Amazon as a test case. The methodology combines (1) interpolated ground-based meteorological station data, (2) horizontally and vertically polarized temperature differences (HVPTD) from the 37-GHz scanning multichannel microwave radiometer (SMMR) aboard the Nimbus 7 satellite, and (3) a calibrated water balance/water transport model (WBM/WTM). Monthly HVPTD values at 0.25° (latitude by longitude) resolution were resampled spatially and temporally to produce an enhanced HVPTD time series at 0.5° resolution for the period May 1979 through February 1985. Enhanced HVPTD values were regressed against monthly discharge derived from the WBM/WTM for each of 40 grid cells along the main stem over a calibration period from May 1979 to February 1983 to provide a spatially contiguous estimate of time-varying discharge. HVPTD-estimated flows generated for a validation period from March 1983 to February 1985 were found to be in good agreement with both observed arid modeled discharges over a 1400-km section of the main stem Amazon. This span of river is bounded downstream by a region of tidal influence and upstream by low sensor response associated with dense forest canopy. Both the WBM/WTM and HVPTD-derived flow rates reflect the significant impact of the 1982–1983 El Niño-;Southern Oscillation (ENSO) event on water balances within the drainage basin

    Influence of process conditions on the formation of 2-4 ring polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons from the pyrolysis of polyvinyl chloride

    Municipal solid waste (MSW) contains significant amounts of polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The reactivity of PVC may form polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) during the pyrolysis of MSW, which can become a key challenge during the development of pyrolysis technologies. However, there is very limited work in relation to the influence of pyrolysis process conditions in terms of temperature and heating rate on PAHs formation during pyrolysis of PVC. In this work, the formation of 2-4-ring PAHs from the pyrolysis of PVC at temperatures of 500, 600, 700, 800, or 900°C and at fast and slow heating rates was investigated under a N2 atmosphere in a fixed bed reactor. With the increase of temperature from 500 to 900°C, HCl yield decreased from 54.7 to 30.2 wt.%, while the yields of gases and PAHs in the tar increased. Slow pyrolysis generated higher HCl yield, and lower gas and tar yield than fast pyrolysis; the PAH yield obtained from the slow pyrolysis was much lower compared to fast pyrolysis. The results suggest that for fast pyrolysis, the dehydrochlorination of the PVC might be incomplete, resulting in the formation of chlorinated aromatic compounds
