Nearly one in five women in Spain is dedicated exclusively to unpaid household work. Data from two different methodologies used in the identification and measurement of this ac-tivity allows us to observe the ideological loading of the term "housewife": first, the data obtained by the Labour Force Survey, with an etic identification approach; second, a sur-vey of more than eleven thousand adults (5,986 of which were women) with an emic self-identification approach. The study explores the controversial use of the term "housewife" in social research, as well as its relevance and limits as an identifier of a social group

Laughter therapy is a useful complement to traditional therapies, and it consists of a
sequence of techniques in order to produce the laugh. In addition, this therapy has multiple
benefits, among which are the main ones for the recovery of the patient's quality of life: pain
relief and stress reduction.
The main objective of this literature review is to know the effects of laughter therapy in
nursing care on the health of pediatric cancer patients. However, this disease is still present
and more than 300,000 children are diagnosed with cancer each year. Children who are
diagnosed with cancer are highly exposed to processes in which physical and phycological
discomfort is very present in everyday life. That malaise affects the quality of life of the patient
and also of the family, that’s why it is necessary to carry out a holistic approach in the care
provided.
Therefore, the aim of this project is to gain a thorough understanding of the benefits of
this therapy on the hospitalization process, because nursing proffesionals accomplish a very
important role and can make use of therapeutic tools to reduce the stress and anxiety that the
disease brings to the child and its treatment
Win-win transport strategies: searching for sinergies
In order to achieve to minimize car-based trips, transport planners have been particularly interested in understanding the factors that explain modal choices. In the transport modelling literature there has been an increasing awareness that socioeconomic attributes and quantitative variables are not sufficient to characterize travelers and forecast their travel behavior. Recent studies have also recognized that users? social interactions and land use patterns influence travel behavior, especially when changes to transport systems are introduced, but links between international and Spanish perspectives are rarely deal. In this paper, factorial and path analyses through a Multiple-Indicator Multiple-Cause (MIMIC) model are used to understand and describe the relationship between the different psychological and environmental constructs with social influence and socioeconomic variables. The MIMIC model generates Latent Variables (LVs) to be incorporated sequentially into Discrete Choice Models (DCM) where the levels of service and cost attributes of travel modes are also included directly to measure the effect of the transport policies that have been introduced in Madrid during the last three years in the context of the economic crisis. The data used for this paper are collected from a two panel smartphone-based survey (n=255 and 190 respondents, respectively) of Madrid
Win-Win transport strategies: searching for synergies.
The need of an urban transport strategy on urban areas which solves the environmental problems derived from traffic without decreasing the trip attraction of these urban areas is taken for granted. Besides there is also a clear consensus among researchers and institutions in the need for integrated transport strategies (May et al., 2006; Zhang et al., 2006). But there is still a lack of knowledge on the policy measures to be implemented. This research aims to deepen in the understanding of how do different measures interact when implemented together: synergies and complementarities between them. The methodological approach to achieve this objective has been the double analysis ? quantitative and comprehensive ? of the different impacts produced, first of all by each of the measures by itself, and later on combining these measures. For this analysis, we have first defined the objectives to achieve within the transport strategy ? emissions and noise decrease without losing trip attraction - , and then selecting the measures to test the effects these objectives generate. This selection has been based on a literature review, searching for measures with have proven to be successful in achieving at least one of the objectives. The different policies and policy combinations have been tested in a multimodal transport model, considering the city of Madrid as case study. The final aim of the research is to find a transport strategy which produces positive impact in all the objectives established, this is a win-win strategy
Virtual reality exposure-based therapy for the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder: a review of its efficacy, the adequacy of the treatment protocol, and its acceptability
Introduction
The essential feature of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is the development of characteristic symptoms following exposure to one or more traumatic events. According to evidence-based intervention guidelines and empirical evidence, one of the most extensively researched and validated treatments for PTSD is prolonged exposure to traumatic events; however, exposure therapy can present some limitations. Virtual reality (VR) can help to improve prolonged exposure because it creates fictitious, safe, and controllable situations that can enhance emotional engagement and acceptance.
Objective
In addition to carrying out a review to evaluate the efficacy of VR exposure-based therapy (VR-EBT) for the treatment of PTSD, the aim of this study was to contribute to analyzing the use of VR-EBT by: first, evaluating the adequacy of psychological treatment protocols that use VR-EBT to treat PTSD; and second, analyzing the acceptability of VR-EBT.
Method
We performed a replica search with descriptors and databases used in two previous reviews and updated to April 2015. Next, we carried out an evaluation of the efficacy, adequacy, and acceptability of VR-EBT protocols.
Results
Results showed that VR-EBT was effective in the treatment of PTSD. The findings related to adequacy showed that not all studies using VR-EBT reported having followed the clinical guidelines for evidence-based interventions in the treatment of PTSD. Regarding acceptability, few studies evaluated this subject. However, the findings are very promising, and patients reported high acceptability and satisfaction with the inclusion of VR in the treatment of PTSD.
Conclusion
The main weaknesses identified in this review focus on the need for more controlled studies, the need to standardize treatment protocols using VR-EBT, and the need to include assessments of acceptability and related variables. Finally, this paper highlights some directions and future perspectives for using VR-EBT in PTSD treatmen
Endogenous topoisomerase II-mediated DNA breaks drive thymic cancer predisposition linked to ATM deficiency
The ATM kinase is a master regulator of the DNA damage response to double-strand breaks (DSBs) and a well-established tumour suppressor whose loss is the cause of the neurodegenerative and cancer-prone syndrome Ataxia-Telangiectasia (A-T). A-T patients and Atm−/− mouse models are particularly predisposed to develop lymphoid cancers derived from deficient repair of RAG-induced DSBs during V(D)J recombination. Here, we unexpectedly find that specifically disturbing the repair of DSBs produced by DNA topoisomerase II (TOP2) by genetically removing the highly specialised repair enzyme TDP2 increases the incidence of thymic tumours in Atm−/− mice. Furthermore, we find that TOP2 strongly colocalizes with RAG, both genome-wide and at V(D)J recombination sites, resulting in an increased endogenous chromosomal fragility of these regions. Thus, our findings demonstrate a strong causal relationship between endogenous TOP2-induced DSBs and cancer development, confirming these lesions as major drivers of ATM-deficient lymphoid malignancies, and potentially other conditions and cancer types.Junta de Andalucía SAF2010-21017, SAF2013-47343-P, SAF2014-55532-R, SAF2017-89619-R, CVI-7948European Research Council ERC-CoG-2014-64735
