Adquisición y pre-procesamiento de señales de vibración, acústicas y emisiones de gases en un motor diesel monocilíndrico

    Get PDF

Far field of binary phase gratings with errors in the height of the strips

    Get PDF
Diffraction gratings are not always ideal but, due to the fabrication process, several errors can be produced. In this work we show that when the strips of a binary phase diffraction grating present certain randomness in their height, the intensity of the diffraction orders varies with respect to that obtained with a perfect grating. To show this, we perform an analysis of the mutual coherence function and then, the intensity distribution at the far field is obtained. In addition to the far field diffraction orders, a "halo" that surrounds the diffraction order is found, which is due to the randomness of the strips height

Static partitioning and mapping of kernel-based applications over modern heterogeneous architectures

    Get PDF
Heterogeneous Architectures Are Being Used Extensively To Improve System Processing Capabilities. Critical Functions Of Each Application (Kernels) Can Be Mapped To Different Computing Devices (I.E. Cpus, Gpgpus, Accelerators) To Maximize Performance. However, Best Performance Can Only Be Achieved If Kernels Are Accurately Mapped To The Right Device. Moreover, In Some Cases Those Kernels Could Be Split And Executed Over Several Devices At The Same Time To Maximize The Use Of Compute Resources On Heterogeneous Parallel Architectures. In This Paper, We Define A Static Partitioning Model Based On Profiling Information From Previous Executions. This Model Follows A Quantitative Model Approach Which Computes The Optimal Match According To User-Defined Constraints. We Test Different Scenarios To Evaluate Our Model: Single Kernel And Multi-Kernel Applications. Experimental Results Show That Our Static Partitioning Model Could Increase Performance Of Parallel Applications By Deploying Not Only Different Kernels Over Different Devices But A Single Kernel Over Multiple Devices. This Allows To Avoid Having Idle Compute Resources On Heterogeneous Platforms, As Well As Enhancing The Overall Performance. (C) 2015 Elsevier B.V. Evanescent waves and deaf bands in sonic crystals

The properties of sonic crystals (SC) are theoretically investigated in this work by solving the inverse problem k(¿) using the extended plane wave expansion (EPWE). The solution of the resulting eigenvalue problem gives the complex band structure which takes into account both the propagating and the evanescent modes. In this work we show the complete mathematical formulation of the EPWE for SC and the supercell approximation for its use in both a complete SC and a SC with defects. As an example we show a novel interpretation of the deaf bands in a complete SC in good agreement with multiple scattering simulations. © 2011 Copyright 2011 Author(s).This work was supported by MCI-Secretaria de Estado de Investigacion (Spanish government) and the FEDER funds, under grant MAT2009-09438. Corporate governance and the MondragĂłn cooperatives

    Get PDF
This paper builds upon recent advances in the corporate governance framework to extend and complement the economic literature on producer cooperatives. We argue that the problem of governance in a cooperative is twofold and consists in designing mechanisms and setting up institutions that (1) encourage workers to define a goal that maximizes workers’ welfare and (2) induce managers to pursue and internalize such a broad goal. When compared to capital-controlled firms, the agency problems become more complex and harder to solve in the cooperative framework. As empirical evidence of this problem and its corresponding solution, we illustrate the case of the Mondragón cooperatives, explaining in detail the incentive system and the control mechanisms now in place in this successful business group. The study of the governance architecture of Mondragón may help us to propose solutions to traditional problems of the cooperative firm and to reach a better understanding of both the governance of cooperatives and corporate governance in general.Publicad

Multidimensional perspective of perceived value in industrial clusters

    Get PDF
Purpose – This paper aims to demonstrate that aspects of a rational or functional character and aspects of an emotional and social nature condition the perceived value of the exchange relationships among firms in an industrial cluster. Design/methodology/approach: – The research uses structural equation models (SEM) to test the models and applies the maximum likelihood estimation method in all the causal models obtained in the course of the data analysis. Findings – The results obtained support the hypotheses put forward, and in particular the importance of emotional and social values in industrial relations. Research limitations/implications – Recent advances in consumer and services marketing consider that perceived value and satisfaction are central to explaining customer loyalty. However, very few studies in B2B explain the multidimensionality of perceived value. For this purpose, the authors test their working hypotheses in the Spanish ceramic tiles cluster. Specifically, they analyze the relationships between manufacturers and a supplier of frits, enamels and ceramic colors and related services. Practical implications – An empirical study demonstrates that experience and interpersonal relationships are more important than price and switching costs in an industrial cluster context. The empirical study and the results provide evidence for managers: the critical influence of the emotional and social values perceived by the customer on his level of satisfaction and on the achievement of final loyalty. Originality/value – The paper highlights the importance of the most intangible dimensions of value for the relations between companies in an industrial cluste

Dual VET in the EU policy: the internationalization of the german model?

    Get PDF
Some European countries, including Spain, encouraged by the European Union, have undertaken the reform of their Vocational Training systems so as to promote dual apprenticeship. This research analyses EU documentation, consisting of documents related to the Copenhagen process and VET reform, such as communications, recommendations, and declarations from different European bodies. This analysis will focus on EU proposals and recommendations on two areas of VET: the governance system and the training model which are the main characteristics of the German model of VET. The methodology consists of reflective thematic analysis, using NVIVO's qualitative data analysis computer software. This will advance the understanding of the process of internationalisation and attraction of the German dual VET model within the EU as a model of good practice.Universidad de Málaga. Content Delivery and Sharing in Federated Cloud Storage

    Get PDF
Cloud-based storage is becoming a cost-effective solution for agencies, hospitals, government instances and scientific centers to deliver and share contents to/with a set of end-users. However, reliability, privacy and lack of control are the main problems that arise when contracting content delivery services with a single cloud storage provider. This paper presents the implementation of a storage system for content delivery and sharing in federated cloud storage networks. This system virtualizes the storage resources of a set of organizations as a single federated system, which is in charge of the content storage. The architecture includes a metadata management layer to keep the content delivery control in-house and a storage synchronization worker/monitor to keep the state of storage resources in the federation as well as to send contents near to the end-users. It also includes a redundancy layer based on a multi-threaded engine that enables the system to withstand failures in the federated network. We developed a prototype based on this scheme as a proof of concept. The experimental evaluation shows the benefits of building content delivery systems in federated cloud environments, in terms of performance, reliability and profitability of the storage space. The work presented in this paper has been partially supported by EU under the COST programme Action IC1305, Network for Sustainable Ultrascale Computing (NESUS)

Evaluation of a program to expand use of sport education model: Teachers’ perception and experience

    Get PDF
Although physical education (PE) is spread all around the world and the large amount of physical activity policies focused on childhood at schools, there is a big difference between policy and real-life practice at schools. The main objectives of this study were 1) to know the diffusion and main features of Sport Education at schools in Castilla-La Mancha (Spain) through the program Proyectos Escolares Saludables (PES, in English, Healthy Schools Project, HSP); 2) to know teachers’ perceptions of the impact of Sport Education in their everyday teaching practice. During three academic years (2016/2017; 2017/2018 and 2018/2019), 181 Primary and Secondary schools participated in the HSP. Data from 91 of them were analysed through an ad hoc self-report. The results showed that during the first year of permanence in the HSP, 337 seasons were implemented according to Sport Education in these 91 schools. In relation to their perception, teachers showed a positive perception of educational potential of Sport Education compared to his previous teaching practice, highlighting students’ motivation, content learning and development of responsibilities. In conclusion, the general teachers’ perception who have implemented Sport Education in Castilla-La Mancha through HSP highlights the great educational potential of this pedagogical model, as well as that the teacher training process has been adequate. In turn, the inclusion of new methodologies in school projects promoted by educational authorities seems to be an ideal means for the teachers’ professional development. This study was funded within the collaboration agreement between the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports (JCCM) and the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) for the development of programs to promote physical activity and sport: plan of promotion of physical activity, sport and values at school age (CONV180322).
