The application of information technology in a tertiary institution is seen as very important, in addition to being able to compete, the main objective is to support teaching and learning activities at the tertiary institution. Nusa Nipa University is one of the private universities that has implemented information technology, namely E_Campuz with one of the features contained in E_Campuz which is E_Learning. One of the characteristics of E_Learning is sharing of learning and information in this case allowing lecturers to share information related to lectures such as announcements, lecture assignments, discussions, lecture material, class agendas, etc., which can be seen or can be downloaded by students as learning material or as a discussion. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) developed by Davis (1989) is a successful and highly acceptable model for predicting acceptance of a newly applied technology where behavior using information technology begins with a perception of benefit (perceived of usefulness), perception of ease use information technology (ease of use), which influences attitudes toward use, as well as behavioral intentions. This research was conducted at the University of Nusa Nipa, by distributing questionnaires to 100 samples taken randomly in 18 Study Programs at UNIPA. This study aims to determine the factors - technology acceptance model (TAM), influence behavioral intentions of the use of elearning services. &nbsp

Opportunistic infections in immunosuppressed patients with juvenile idiopathic arthritis: analysis by the Pharmachild Safety Adjudication Committee

Background To derive a list of opportunistic infections (OI) through the analysis of the juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) patients in the Pharmachild registry by an independent Safety Adjudication Committee (SAC). Methods The SAC (3 pediatric rheumatologists and 2 pediatric infectious disease specialists) elaborated and approved by consensus a provisional list of OI for use in JIA. Through a 5 step-procedure, all the severe and serious infections, classified as per MedDRA dictionary and retrieved in the Pharmachild registry, were evaluated by the SAC by answering six questions and adjudicated with the agreement of 3/5 specialists. A final evidence-based list of OI resulted by matching the adjudicated infections with the provisional list of OI. Results A total of 772 infectious events in 572 eligible patients, of which 335 serious/severe/very severe non-OI and 437 OI (any intensity/severity), according to the provisional list, were retrieved. Six hundred eighty-two of 772 (88.3%) were adjudicated as infections, of them 603/682 (88.4%) as common and 119/682 (17.4%) as OI by the SAC. Matching these 119 opportunistic events with the provisional list, 106 were confirmed by the SAC as OI, and among them infections by herpes viruses were the most frequent (68%), followed by tuberculosis (27.4%). The remaining events were divided in the groups of non-OI and possible/patient and/or pathogen-related OI. Conclusions We found a significant number of OI in JIA patients on immunosuppressive therapy. The proposed list of OI, created by consensus and validated in the Pharmachild cohort, could facilitate comparison among future pharmacovigilance studies

[In Press] Providing better access to oral health care for people receiving substance use treatment : a timely discussion

    No full text
Substance use disorders are a risk factor for poor oral health which in turn impacts quality of life. Resultant oral problems contribute to chronic illness, premature mortality, social stigma, embarrassment and reduced opportunities for employment and social interaction. Providing dental services to people with substance use disorders is often difficult due to high rates of oral disease, anxiety, behavioural and drug use changes, and lifestyle factors. Previous studies have demonstrated that alcohol and other drug service clients find accessing and navigating oral health services complex and suggest a multidisciplinary care approach to improve outcomes. In this commentary, we describe individual and structural barriers that limit the use of oral health care among people with substance use disorders, alcohol and other drug clinicians' challenges to integrating oral health into their practice and identify key issues for oral health services in delivering care. We draw on our experience to recommend a multidisciplinary approach be used to develop strategies in order to increase access to oral health services at a standard similar to the general population for clients of alcohol and other drug services

However, population-based studies comparing GIB rates among different DOACs are limited. Objective: To compare rates of GIB among apixaban, dabigatran, and rivaroxaban. Design: Nationwide population-based cohort study. Setting: Landspítali-The National University Hospital of Iceland and the 4 regional hospitals in Iceland. Patients: New users of apixaban, dabigatran, and rivaroxaban from 2014 to 2019. Measurements: Rates of GIB were compared using inverse probability weighting, Kaplan-Meier survival estimates, and Cox regression. Results: In total, 2157 patients receiving apixaban, 494 patients receiving dabigatran, and 3217 patients receiving rivaroxaban were compared. For all patients, rivaroxaban had higher overall rates of GIB (3.2 vs. 2.5 events per 100 person-years; hazard ratio [HR], 1.42 [95% CI, 1.04 to 1.93]) and major GIB (1.9 vs. 1.4 events per 100 person-years; HR, 1.50 [CI, 1.00 to 2.24]) compared with apixaban. Rivaroxaban also had higher GIB rates than dabigatran, with similar point estimates, although the CIs were wider and included the possibility of a null effect. When only patients with atrial fibrillation were included, rivaroxaban was associated with higher rates of overall GIB than apixaban (HR, 1.40 [CI, 1.01 to 1.94]) or dabigatran (HR, 2.04 [CI, 1.17 to 3.55]). Dabigatran was associated with lower rates of upper GIB than rivaroxaban in both analyses. Limitations: Unmeasured confounding and small subgroup analyses. Conclusion: Rivaroxaban was associated with higher GIB rates than apixaban and dabigatran regardless of treatment indication.Icelandic Centre for Research Landspitali University Hospital Research Fun
