Evaluation of Care Indicators While Using an Analog and Digital Test Designed to Cognitive Training in older Adults

AbstractThis paper describes the methods and findings of the first application in laboratory conditions of analog and digital prototypes from a test designed for cognitive training for older adults. Since the content of the test privileged the cognitive processes of solving problems related mainly to sustained and selective attention, and since some studies have shown that these processes improve when the demands of the job match the capabilities of people, it was considered important to investigate the discriminatory conditions of these processes of care when older adults face interaction tasks with digital devices compared with analog devices of the same features and content.The test is designed primarily intended to serve as a pretext to collect data related to interaction design in this population, and developed from the disaggregated mental model of the interaction with a specific technological equipment, although uses conventions and implicit concepts in designing of various digital interfaces to enable intuitive navigation to other models. This process included the participation of designers and therapists supported by the philosophies of co-design and participatory ergonomics

El silencio como inspiración poética en los dos primeros mamotretos de León de Greiff

Se trata de un estudio a propósito del silencio como tema poético y además como actitud ante la vida, que demuestra, entre otras cosas, una profunda concordancia entre el ser poeta de León de Greiff, y su qué hacer poético. El primer capítulo se centra en el libro Tergiversaciones. Al principio se encuentra un poco de contexto histórico de Colombia a los finales del siglo XIX e inicios del siglo XX, luego el afán del autor por expresar hasta lo inexpresable, los tópicos que guardan estrecho parentesco con el silencio en su obra como la Muerte, la Nada, la Soledad, de qué índole era su compañía, terminando el capítulo con la imposibilidad de clasificar al autor en ninguna escuela o ismo literario con exclusividad.It´s a study about the silence as a poetic topic and besides that, as an attitude before life, that shows, among another things, a deep concordance between being a poet and doing poetry for León de Greiff. The first chapter, it´s focused on the play Tergiversaciones. Flipped versions of the universal 3-3-1 and the left-right symmetric models in [SU(3)]3: a comprehensive approach

ABSTRACT: By considering the 3-3-1 and the left-right symmetric models as low energy effective theories of the SU(3)C SU(3)L SU(3)R (for short [SU(3)]3) gauge group, alternative versions of these models are found. The new neutral gauge bosons of the universal 3-3-1 model and its ipped versions are presented; also, the left-right symmetric model and its ipped variants are studied. Our analysis shows that there are two ipped versions of the universal 3-3-1 model, with the particularity that both of them have the same weak charges. For the left-right symmetric model we also found two ipped versions; one of them new in the literature which, unlike those of the 3-3-1, requires a dedicated study of its electroweak properties. For all the models analyzed, the couplings of the Z0 bosons to the standard model fermions are reported. The explicit form of the null space of the vector boson mass matrix for an arbitrary Higgs tensor and gauge group is also presented. In the general framework of the [SU(3)]3 gauge group, and by using the LHC experimental results and EW precision data, limits on the Z0 mass and the mixing angle between Z and the new gauge bosons Z0 are obtained. The general results call for very small mixing angles in the range 10-3 radians and MZ0 > 2.5 TeV

INCIDENCIA DE LA EDUCACIÓN FÍSICA EN EL DESARROLLO DE LA EDUCACIÓN MEDIOAMBIENTAL

El presente artículo tiene como objetivo exponer algunas consideraciones teórico-metodológicas en torno al tratamiento de la educación medioambiental en la clase de Educación Física. El análisis de las mencionadas concepciones derivó en el aporte del trabajo, que lo constituyó un conjunto de tareas para desarrollar esta dimensión en el proceso de formación de los futuros profesionales de la salud en la Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Holguín. Los autores utilizaron métodos de investigación tales como: el análisis-síntesis, la inducción- deducción y el método histórico–lógico, los cuales permitieron elaborar la propuesta que se presenta, así como arribar a generalizaciones teóricas y prácticas. El conjunto de tareas medioambientales se convirtió en una herramienta para elevar la preparación metodológica de los docentes y permitió darle cumplimiento a una de las estrategias curriculares de la formación del profesional referida a la Salud Pública y Formación Ambiental

Encapsulation of probiotics for food applications

Los alimentos funcionales contienen componentes activos que con un consumo habitual favorecen la salud de consumidor. Dentro del concepto de funcional se encuentran los alimentos con microorganismos probióticos, los cuales al ser ingeridos en dosis adecuadas confieren diversos beneficios, estos microorganismos son sensibles a factores tecnológicos y ambientales que pueden reducir su viabilidad, estabilidad y su capacidad funcional. Existen tecnologías como la encapsulación, las cuales permiten mejorar la estabilidad de los probióticos al protegerlos mediante un material de recubrimiento. En este trabajo se realizó una búsqueda sistemática en diversas bases de datos sobre los probióticos más empleados en la industria de alimentos, su capacidad catalítica en matrices alimenticias, métodos de encapsulación, tipos de matrices en la encapsulación, estabilidad bajo condiciones gastrointestinales y los mecanismos de liberación. Se encontró que la encapsulación, además de favorecer la estabilidad de los microorganismos probióticos frente a factores adversos, condiciona según sus características, su aplicación e incorporación en matrices alimenticias de diversas cualidades.Functional foods contain active components, which under their regular use favor consumers’ health. Within the functional concept food with probiotics are found, which when ingested in adequate doses confer various benefits. These microorganisms are sensitive to technological and environmental factors that can reduce their viability, stability, and functional capacity. There are some technologies such as encapsulation, which allow improving the stability of probiotics by protecting them with a coating material. This a systematic search in several databases on the most widely used probiotics in the food industry, their catalytic capacity in food matrices, encapsulation methods, types of matrices in encapsulation, stability in gastrointestinal conditions and release mechanisms. It was found that encapsulation, besides favoring the stability of probiotic microorganisms against adverse factors, conditions, according to their characteristics, their application and incorporation in food matrices of different qualities

Evaluación de la calidad de vida en el trabajo en productores de café en Cundinamarca, Colombia

In Colombia, half the population that belongs to the agricultural sector lives in conditions of poverty or extreme poverty. However, it is necessary to investigate other dimensions such as quality of life, which is related to well-being, living conditions and level of satisfaction of this population. Bearing in mind the diversity of products in the agricultural sector, the project is focused on coffee production, since Colombia is the third largest coffee producer in the world. The objective was to evaluate coffee producers' quality of life at work in the department of Cundinamarca. In order to assess the quality of life at work of coffee growers, an adaptation of the GOHISALO instrument was proposed. For the research, the 74 items of the instrument were adapted to 56 items, in 7 redefined dimensions. As for the validation, 109 surveys were carried out in the municipalities of Cáqueza, Guayabetal and Quetame in Cundinamarca during 2019. The proposed instrument obtained high reliability with a Cronbach's alpha of 0.96 and a KMO of 0.81. In general terms, the perception of coffee growers' quality of life from Caqueza, Guayabetal and Quetame is good in most of the dimensions analyzed, except in the safety for work dimension. A difference also reliesin the gender variable regarding the perception of quality of life in women, which is located in all dimensions below the results of men.En Colombia, más de la mitad de la población que pertenece al sector agrícola  vive en condiciones de pobreza o pobreza extrema, no obstante, se requiere indagar otras dimensiones como la calidad de vida, que se relaciona con el bienestar, las condiciones de vida y la satisfacción de la población. El objetivo de esta investigación fue evaluar la calidad de vida en el trabajo de productores de café en el departamento de Cundinamarca, teniendo en cuenta que Colombia es el tercer productor de café en el mundo. Para evaluar la calidad de vida en el trabajo de los caficultores se realizó una adaptación del instrumento GOHISALO, redefinido en 7 dimensiones y 56 ítems de los 74 que originalmente estructuran el instrumento. El instrumento propuesto obtuvo una alta confiabilidad con un alfa de Cronbach de 0,96 y un KMO de 0,81. Se realizaron 109 encuestas en los municipios de Cáqueza, Guayabetal y Quetame en Cundinamarca en el 2019. En términos generales la percepción de calidad de vida de los caficultores de Cáqueza, Guayabetal y Quetame es buena en la mayoría de las dimensiones analizadas, excepto en la dimensión de seguridad para el trabajo. También se encontró una diferencia en la variable de género respecto a la percepción de calidad de vida en las mujeres, la cual se ubica en todas las dimensiones por debajo del resultado de los hombres
