Sports attendance: A survey of the Literature 1973-2007
Introduction – 1. Theoretical aspects – 2. Demand definition, data andempirical model – 3. Determinants of attendance (I): Economical aspects – 4.Determinants of attendance (II): Expected quality – 5. Determinants of attendance(III): Uncertainty of outcome – 6. Determinants of attendance (IV): Opportunity cost and other factors – Conclusions – Abstract In this paper, we show a review of the empirical analysis literature about the factors that explain attendance to the stadiums on different sports, mainly in the case of professional sports. Apart from the traditional economic determinants of demand (attendance), the sports events in which the performers have more quality and in those which exists uncertainty of outcome of the match or the championship, have a larger number of spectators. On the other hand, these are not the only factors that explain attendance. Variables that capture the opportunity cost of going to the stadium and other determinants, like unobservable factors associated to the contender teams, also have relevance at the time of analyzing this side of the demand related to professional teams of sports eventsAttendance, elasticity, quality, uncertainty of outcome
The ‘Byronic Hero’ in Wuthering Heights
Trabajo de fin de Grado. Grado en Estudios Ingleses. Curso académico 2015-2016[EN]The aim of this dissertation is to compare Heathcliff, the main character in Emily
Brontë’s novel Wuthering Heights (1847) with the ‘Byronic Hero’, a prototype created
by Lord Byron. The study is based on the common traces that both characters share, i.e.;
an outcast with a troubled past, emotionally conflicted, with a high level of intelligence
and a strong power of attraction, an idealist with self-destructive behaviour and a
mysterious, enigmatic and charismatic but rebellious and arrogant nature.

Properties of galaxies at the faint end of the H luminosity function at
Studies measuring the star formation rate density, luminosity function, and
properties of star-forming galaxies are numerous. However, it exists a gap at
in H-based studies. Our main goal is to study the
properties of a sample of faint H emitters at . We focus on
their contribution to the faint end of the luminosity function and derived star
formation rate density, characterising their morphologies and basic photometric
and spectroscopic properties. We use a narrow-band technique in the
near-infrared, with a filter centred at 1.06 m. The data come from
ultra-deep VLT/HAWK-I observations in the GOODS-S field with a total of 31.9 h
in the narrow-band filter. We perform a visual classification of the sample and
study their morphologies from structural parameters available in CANDELS. Our
28 H-selected sample of faint star-forming galaxies reveals a robust
faint-end slope of the luminosity function . The
derived star formation rate density at is . The sample is
mainly composed of disks, but an important contribution of compact galaxies
with S\'ersic indexes display the highest specific star formation
rates. The luminosity function at from our ultra-deep data points
towards a steeper when an individual extinction correction for each
object is applied. Compact galaxies are low-mass, low-luminosity, and
starburst-dominated objects with a light profile in an intermediate stage from
early to late types.Comment: Published in Astronomy & Astrophysics. 19 pages, 14 figures. New

1947), E. Flabellatus (Fonscolombe, 1832), E. Fulviceps (Graham, 1995), E. Nowickii (Ferrière, 1947), E. platyedrae (Ferrière, 1935), E. Rufiventris (Ferrière, 1947), E. Steffani (Viggiani, 1967), i E. Viridiceps (Thompson, 1878). New records of Elasmus Westwood, (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea: Elasmidae) in the Iberian Peninsula, Balearic and Canary Islands. The family Elasmidae has a world-wide distribution. It comprises two genera in Europe, Elasmus Westwood, 1833 and Euryschia Riley, 1889, and more than 100 species.
Here we study the species of the genus Elasmus collected in several localities in Spain. A total of 8 species among the 23 known in Europe were found. This is the first record of these species in the Balearic or Canary Islands, and also the first record of Elasmus arcuatus Ferrière, 1947 in Spain. The peninsular distribution of E. Cyprianus (Ferrière, 1947), E. flabellatus (Fonscolombe, 1832), E. Fulviceps (Graham, 1995), E. Nowickii (Ferrière, 1947), E. Platyedrae (Ferrière, 1935),
E. Steffani (Viggiani, 1967), E. Rufiventris (Ferrière, 1947),
and E. Viridiceps (Thompson, 1878) is extended. Moreover, problems to identify some species of the family are commented
