    El trabajo presentado en esta investigación es un proyecto educativo que surge de la necesidad de mejorar las falencias que aun se presentan y se evidenciaron en algunas de las prácticas pedagógicas, es un proyecto que busca satisfacer y mejorar las necesidades educativas de la comunidad escolar en el Municipio de Quinchìa, teniendo en cuenta las disposiciones conceptuales, legales y declaradas por el ministerio de Educación nacional para el área de Ciencia Naturales de grado primero. Este proyecto está fundamentado bajo varios teóricos de gran celebridad como son: Piaget y Ausubel, quienes con su aporte permitieron guiarnos y consolidar esta propuesta didáctica. A su vez busca dar respuesta a las necesidades de profesores y estudiantes a través de un producto como la cartilla de estrategias ya que está actualizada con los estándares básicos del MEN en dicha área, brindando múltiples oportunidades de enseñanza aprendizaje tanto para los educandos y facilitadores. Una de las necesidades básicas de la educación en el futuro es preparar a los estudiantes para participar en el mejoramiento del entorno, diseñar estrategias que induzcan al niño y niña a tomar conciencia de la importancia, cuidado del medio y su protección. Un objetivo fundamental seria formar la práctica de actitudes y habilidades científicas en relación con la adquisición de conocimientos sobre el mundo natural y las transformaciones del organismo humano, mejorando la relación consigo mismo y por ende con los demás, esto ayudara a los estudiantes a conservar el ambiente en el que viven

    El presente compilado de este texto hace referencia a la Responsabilidad Social Empresarial, el cual es el tema central de todas las fases a lo largo del diplomado de profundización que se ha desarrollado, con el fin de investigar los diferentes conceptos, compilando las ideas de forma colaborativa y asumiendo compromisos. Fue fundamental la elección de una empresa con el objetivo de analizar todos sus puntos de vista orientados a la R.S.E. Se seleccionó la Cooperativa Colanta en consenso de todos los integrantes del grupo con el fin de realizar un adecuado análisis de la cooperativa, por medio del cual se utilizaron indicadores en base a la Norma ISO 26000. Con el fin de evaluar e identificar los derechos laborales de los socios cooperativos de la empresa. Se le realizó un análisis de forma grupal, se definió el destino estratégico, además de desarrollar un marco lógico, logrando definir el mapa estratégico a partir de la dimensión económica, social y ambiental, logrando con los indicadores y el plan de acción. Desarrollando acciones estratégicas para la cooperativa, finalizando con el código de ética Cooperativo de Responsabilidad Social aplicados a los socios de la empresa.The compilation of this text refers to corporate social responsibility that is the central topic of all phases through the deepening diploma.     Impact of comorbidities on anti-TNF alpha response and relapse in patients with inflammatory bowel disease: the VERNE study

    Objective: To evaluate the impact of comorbidities and extraintestinal manifestations of inflammatory bowel disease on the response of patients with inflammatory bowel disease to antitumour necrosis factor alpha (anti-TNFalpha) therapy. Design: Data from 310 patients (194 with Crohn's disease and 116 with ulcerative colitis) treated consecutively with the first anti-TNFalpha in 24 Spanish hospitals were retrospectively analysed. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were performed to assess the associations between inflammatory bowel disease comorbidities and extraintestinal manifestations with anti-TNFalpha treatment outcomes. Key clinical features, such as type of inflammatory bowel disease and concomitant treatments, were included as fixed factors in the model. Results: Multivariate logistic regression analyses (OR, 95% CI) showed that chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (2.67, 1.33 to 5.35) and hepato-pancreato-biliary diseases (1.87, 1.48 to 2.36) were significantly associated with primary non-response to anti-TNFalpha, as was the use of corticosteroids and the type of inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis vs Crohn's disease). It was also found that myocardial infarction (3.30, 1.48 to 7.35) and skin disease (2.73, 1.42 to 5.25) were significantly associated with loss of response, along with the use of corticosteroids and the type of inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis vs Crohn's disease). Conclusions: Our results suggest that the presence of some comorbidities in patients with inflammatory bowel disease, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and myocardial infarction, and of certain extraintestinal manifestations of inflammatory bowel disease, such as hepato-pancreato-biliary conditions and skin diseases, appear to be related to failure to anti-TNFalpha treatment. Therefore, their presence should be considered when choosing a treatment. Trial registration number: NCT02861118

    Cholangiocarcinoma 2020: the next horizon in mechanisms and management

    [EN] Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) includes a cluster of highly heterogeneous biliary malignant tumours that can arise at any point of the biliary tree. Their incidence is increasing globally, currently accounting for ~15% of all primary liver cancers and ~3% of gastrointestinal malignancies. The silent presentation of these tumours combined with their highly aggressive nature and refractoriness to chemotherapy contribute to their alarming mortality, representing ~2% of all cancer-related deaths worldwide yearly. The current diagnosis of CCA by non- invasive approaches is not accurate enough, and histological confirmation is necessary. Furthermore, the high heterogeneity of CCAs at the genomic, epigenetic and molecular levels severely compromises the efficacy of the available therapies. In the past decade, increasing efforts have been made to understand the complexity of these tumours and to develop new diagnostic tools and therapies that might help to improve patient outcomes. In this expert Consensus Statement, which is endorsed by the European Network for the Study of Cholangiocarcinoma, we aim to summarize and critically discuss the latest advances in CCA, mostly focusing on classification, cells of origin, genetic and epigenetic abnormalities, molecular alterations, biomarker discovery and treatments.     Autophagy in periodontitis patients and gingival fibroblasts: unraveling the link between chronic diseases and inflammation

Autophagy provides a mechanism for the turnover of cellular organelles and proteins through a lysosome-dependent degradation pathway. The aim of this research was to study the role of autophagy in peripheral blood mononuclear cells from patients with periodontitis and gingival fibroblasts treated with a lipopolysaccharide of Porphyromonas gingivalis. Autophagy-dependent mechanisms have been proposed in the pathogenesis of inflammatory disorders and in other diseases related to periodontitis, such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Thus it is important to study the role of autophagy in the pathophysiology of periodontitis. Methods: Peripheral blood mononuclear cells from patients with periodontitis (n = 38) and without periodontitis (n = 20) were used to study autophagy. To investigate the mechanism of autophagy, we evaluated the influence of a lipopolysaccharide from P. gingivalis in human gingival fibroblasts, and autophagy was monitored morphologically and biochemically. Autophagosomes were observed by immunofluorescence and electron microscopy. Results: We found increased levels of autophagy gene expression and high levels of mitochondrial reactive oxygen species production in peripheral blood mononuclear cells from patients with periodontitis compared with controls. A significantly positive correlation between both was observed. In human gingival fibroblasts treated with lipopolysaccharide from P. gingivalis, there was an increase of protein and transcript of autophagy-related protein 12 (ATG12) and microtubule-associated protein 1 light chain 3 alpha LC3. A reduction of mitochondrial reactive oxygen species induced a decrease in autophagy whereas inhibition of autophagy in infected cells increased apoptosis, showing the protective role of autophagy.     A Critical Gap in Seagrass Protection: Impact of Anthropogenic Off-Shore Nutrient Discharges on Deep Posidonia oceanica Meadows

    In the Mediterranean, anthropogenic pressures (specifically those involving nutrient loads) have been progressively moved to deeper off-shore areas to meet current policies dealing with the protection of marine biodiversity (e.g., European Directives). However, conservation efforts devoted to protecting Posidonia oceanica and other vulnerable marine habitats against anthropogenic pressures have dedicated very little attention to the deepest areas of these habitats. We studied the remote influence of off-shore nutrient discharge on the physiology and structure of deep P. oceanica meadows located nearest to an urban sewage outfall (WW; 1 km) and an aquaculture facility (FF; 2.5 km). Light reduction and elevated external nutrient availability (as indicated by high δ15N, total N and P content and N uptake rates of seagrass tissues) were consistent with physiological responses to light and nutrient stress. This was particularly evident in the sites located up to 2.5 km from the WW source, where carbon budget imbalances and structural alterations were more evident. These results provide evidence that anthropogenic nutrient inputs can surpass critical thresholds for the species, even in off-shore waters at distances within the km scale. Therefore, the critical distances between this priority habitat and nutrient discharge points have been underestimated and should be corrected to achieve a good conservation status

    MAPEO DE LOS BOSQUES TIPO VARILLAL UTILIZANDO IMÁGENES DE SATÉLITE RAPIDEYE EN LA PROVINCIA MAYNAS, LORETO, PERÚ

    Los bosques tipo varillal albergan una diversidad biológica endémica y varias especies monodominantes, cuando estos bosques se ubican en los pantanos acumulan gran cantidad de carbono en el suelo. El objetivo del presente estudio fue elaborar el mapa de distribución espacial de los varillales sobre arena blanca y sobre pantano en la provincia Maynas, Loreto, a escala 1/100,000, utilizando imágenes de satélite RapidEye y aplicando el algoritmo clasificador de Máxima Verosimilitud (MVS) en el programa ArcGIS versión 10.1. Usamos siete categorías de clasificación en tres escenas RapidEye y definimos las firmas espectrales respectivas basadas en 32 áreas de entrenamiento de muestreo en campo. Se clasificaron las 206 escenas restantes utilizando el algoritmo MVS. El mapa fue validado utilizando 57 puntos de control entre varillales y otros tipos de bosque. Se determinaron 51,025 ha de varillales que representan 0.67% de la superficie de la provincia Maynas, distribuidas principalmente entre las cuencas de los ríos Napo y Nanay y entre la ciudad de Iquitos y la boca del Río Amazonas. Obtuvimos un 91.2% de exactitud en la clasificación de los varillales. Las bandas borde rojo (BR) e ifrarrojo cercano (IRC) de las imágenes RapidEye diferenciaron mejor los varillales de los otros bosques. Se reportan nuevas áreas de bosque de varillales sobre arena blanca y pantanos. En conclusión, las imágenes RapidEye son útiles para clasificar y diferenciar los varillales de otros tipos de bosque, siendo el mapa de los varillales útil para la exploración de nuevos sitios en el estudio de almacenamiento de carbono en el suelo

    Evaluation of quality of life related to nutritional status

    The way in which the quality of life related to health (HRQoL) is affected by the nutritional status of the patient is a subject of constant interest and permanent debate. The purpose of the present paper is to review those studies that relate HRQoL to nutritional status and examine the tools (questionnaires) that they use to investigate this relationship. A critical review of published studies was carried out via an investigation of the following databases: MEDLINE (via PubMed); EMBASE; The Cochrane Library; Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL); Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) Web of Science; Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature (LILACS); Spanish Health Sciences Bibliographic Index (IBECS). The search was carried out from the earliest date possible until July 2007.The medical subject heading terms used were ‘quality of life’, ‘nutritional status’ and ‘questionnaires’. The articles had to contain at least one questionnaire that evaluated quality of life. Twenty-eight documents fulfilling the inclusion criteria were accepted, although none of them used a specific questionnaire to evaluate HRQoL related to nutritional status. However, some of them used a combination of generic questionnaires with the intention of evaluating the same. Only three studies selectively addressed the relationship between nutritional status and quality of life, this evaluation being performed not by means of specific questionnaires but by statistical analysis of data obtained via validated questionnaires.This present investigation has been made possible thanks to a Nutricia grant
