Mosaburg/Zalavár-Várszigeten több mint 60 éve intenzív régészeti kutatás zajlik. A pályázat célja ezeknek az ásatási eredményeknek természettudományos vizsgálatokkal kiegészített, modern szempontoknak megfelelő feldolgozása és közlésre előkészítése volt. Közlésre kész van Zalavár-Rezes telep és temető feldolgozása, miután végre az antropológiai kiértékelés is befejeződött. PhD dolgozatként elkészült Zalavár-Kápolna, és a zalavári bencés monostor körüli Árpád-kori temetők feldolgozása. Egyetemei szakdolgozatként elkészült a Zalavár-Vársziget északi szélén Cs. Sós Ágnes által feltárt Karoling-kori településrészlet és erődítésmaradványok feldolgozása. Akadémiai doktori disszertációként elkészült a Karoling-kori Pannónia története és régészete, melynek súlyponti részét képezi a zalavári településtörténeti kutatások eredményeinek és az egyházi építészeti emlékeknek a kiértékelése. Készen van a Zalavár-Hadrianus templom és a körülötte fekvő, közel 2000 síros Karoling-és Árpád-kori temetőnek és az egész Vársziget 1994-2010-ig feltárt települési objektumainak digitális térképe, elkészült a Hadrianus templom és a körülötte állt épületek 3D-s tömbrekonstrukciója. A hatalmas mennyiségű kerámia-leletanyag feldolgozását segítették a vékonycsiszolatos, röntgen difrakciós és röntgen fluoreszcens, a fémöntő tégelyekét pedig a röntgen-spektroszkópiás vizsgálatok segítették. Jelentős előrehaladást értünk el az archeozoológiai és antropológiai anyag feldolgozásában. A Vársziget települési képének rekonstruálását segítette, hogy geofizikai mérésekkel az ásatással nem kutatott területeket is sikerült feltérképeznünk. | The intensive archaeological investigation of Zalavár-Vársziget has been taken more than 60 years. The target of the project was to process these results adopting modern methods and applying scientific analyses, and to prepare the publication. Ready to publish are the following volumes: Zalavár-Rezes, settlement and graveyard (he anthropological processing has been completed); Churchyards of the Zalavár Benedictine Monastery and Zalavár-Kápolna (parts of PhD thesis); Remains of a settlement and a fortification on the northern part of Zalavár-Vársziget (MA thesis); The History and Archaeology of Carolingian Pannonia (DSc thesis) in the focus an analysis and appraise of the results of the research of the Zalavár settlement and ecclesiastical architecture. The digital map that shows all the graves and settlement phenomena of the 1994-2010 excavations of the Vársziget has been completed, together with a 3D reconstruction of the Hadrian church and the buildings which surrounded it. The processing of the huge amount of ceramics was supported by petrographical, polarizing and cathodoluminescence microscopy analysis, or by X-ray spectroscopy (moulding jars). In point of the processing of the anthropological and archaeozoological finds there was a significant advance. The geophysical survey of the unexcavated areas of the Vársziget helped the reconstruction of the image of the Vársziget settelment, at the same time showing the extreme intensity of it

Communicating “space and form?”: The history and impact of the journal Tér és Forma as the Hungarian pipeline of Modernism

In the interwar era, architectural journals were at the forefront of professional attention and had the power to disseminate the Modern Movement in architecture globally. The Hungarian journal Tér és Forma (1928-1948) took the lead to introduce international modern architecture to the Hungarian public, while continually reporting on the newest building projects in interwar Hungary. Virgil Bierbauer, the periodical’s long-time editor (1928-1942), presented the broad panorama of contemporary architecture and his followers from 1943 intended to continue his legacy even in wartime. The impact of the periodical did not halt at its cessation in 1948 but, directly as well as indirectly, continued to define 20th century architectural historiography in Hungary
