The electroweak corrections at the order of
to the partial widths of the and decays (depending on the masses of the particles
involved) are investigated within the Supersymmetric Standard Model. The
relative corrections can reach the value of 10% in some parameter space, which
can be comparable with the corresponding QCD corrections. Therefore, they
should be taken into account for the precise experimental measurement at future

China's building stock estimation and energy intensity analysis
Reliable and objective data regarding building stock is essential for predicting and analyzing energy demand and carbon emission. However, China's building stock data is lacking. This study proposes a set of China building floor space estimation method (CBFSM) based on the improved building stock turnover model. Then it measures China's building stocks by vintage and type from 2000 to 2015, as well as building energy intensity (national level and provincial level) and energy-efficient buildings. Results showed that total building stocks increased significantly, rising from 35.2 billion m2 in 2000 to 63.6 billion m2 in 2015, with the average growth rate 4.0%. The deviations were well below 10% by comparing with China Population Census, which validated the reliability of CBFSM and the results. As for energy intensity, urban dwellings and rural dwellings showed relatively stable and increasing trend respectively. The commercial building energy intensity saw a downward trend during “12th Five Year Plan” period. This indicated the effectiveness of building energy efficiency work for commercial buildings since 2005.38.6 billion m2 residential dwellings and 5.7 billion m2 commercial buildings still need to be retrofitted in future. CBFSM can overcome shortages in previous studies. It can also provide Chinese government with technical support and data evidence to promote the building energy efficiency work
China's New-Type Urbanisation Plan (NUP) and the foreseeing challenges for decarbonization of cities: a review
The most recent urbanisation plan in China, the New-type Urbanisation Plan (NUP) launched in March 2014, is a national plan proposed for development of a scientific and reasonable urban development model by 2020. NUP aims to connect four major plans of ecological progress, urbanisation quality, expanding domestic demand and rural-urban coordination. After almost two years, several contradictions are already in place. However, there are key challenges for decarbonization of cities in this process. This review paper explores four major challenges and suggests steps forward during and after NUP's lifespan. Coexistence of Ferroelectric Triclinic Phases and Origin of Large Piezoelectric Responses in Highly Strained BiFeO3 films
The structural evolution of the strain-driven morphotropic phase boundary
(MPB) in BiFeO3 films has been investigated using synchrotron x-ray
diffractometry in conjunction with scanning probe microscopy. Our results
demonstrate the existence of mixed-phase regions that are mainly made up of two
heavily tilted ferroelectric triclinic phases. Analysis of first-principles
computations suggests that these two triclinic phases originate from a phase
separation of a single monoclinic state accompanied by elastic matching between
the phase-separated states. These first-principle calculations further reveal
that the intrinsic piezoelectric response of these two low-symmetry triclinic
phases is not significantly large, which thus implies that the ease of phase
transition between these two energetically close triclinic phases is likely
responsible for the large piezoelectric response found in the BiFeO3 films near
its MPB. These findings not only enrich the understandings of the lattice and
domain structure of epitaxial BiFeO3 films but may also shed some light on the

AVNP2 protects against cognitive impairments induced by C6 glioma by suppressing tumour associated inflammation in rats

In the last century, some researchers and clinician have noticed that the psychosocial and neurocognitive functioning of patients with malignant gliomas can be impaired. Many clinical studies have demonstrated that part of patients, adults or children, diagnosed with glioblastoma will suffer from cognitive deficiency during their clinical course, especially in long-term survivors. Many nanoparticles (NPs) can inhibit the biological functions of tumours by modulating tumour-associated inflammation, which provokes angiogenesis and tumour growth. As one of the best antiviral nanoparticles (AVNPs), AVNP2 is the 2nd generation of AVNP2 that have been conjugated to graphite-graphene for improving physiochemical performance and reducing toxicity. AVNP2 inactivates viruses, such as the H1N1 and H5N1influenza viruses and even the SARS coronavirus, while it inhibits bacteria, such as MRSA and E. coli. As antimicrobials, nanoparticles are considered to be one of the vectors for the administration of therapeutic compounds. Yet, little is known about their potential functionalities and toxicities to the neurotoxic effects of cancer. Herein, we explored the functionality of AVNP2 on inhibiting C6 in glioma-bearing rats. The novel object-recognition test and open-field test showed that AVNP2 significantly improved the neuro-behaviour affected by C6 glioma. AVNP2 also alleviated the decline of long-term potentiation (LTP) and the decreased density of dendritic spines in the CA1 region induced by C6. Western blot assay and immunofluorescence staining showed that the expressions of synaptic-related proteins (PSD-95 and SYP) were increased, and these findings were in accordance with the results mentioned above. It revealed that the sizes of tumours in C6 glioma-bearing rats were smaller after treatment with AVNP2. The decreased expression of inflammatory factors (IL-1β, IL-6 and TNF-α) by Western blotting assay and ELISA, angiogenesis protein (VEGF) by Western blotting assay and other related proteins (BDNF, NF-ĸB, iNOS and COX-2) by Western blotting assay in peri-tumour tissue indicated that AVNP2 could control tumour-associated inflammation, thus efficiently ameliorating the local inflammatory condition and, to some extent, inhibiting angiogenesis in C6-bearing rats. In conclusion, our results suggested that AVNP2 could have an effect on the peri-tumor environment, obviously restraining the growth progress of gliomas, and eventually improving cognitive levels in C6-bearing rats.Peer reviewedProo
Effects of the R-parity violation in the minimal supersymmetric standard model on dilepton pair production at the CERN LHC
We investigate in detail the effects of the R-parity lepton number violation
in the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) on the parent process at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The numerical
comparisons between the contributions of the R-parity violating effects to the
parent process via the Drell-Yan subprocess and the gluon-gluon fusion are
made. We find that the R-violating effects on pair production at the
LHC could be significant. The results show that the cross section of the pair productions via gluon-gluon collision at the LHC can be of the order
of fb, and this subprocess maybe competitive with the production
mechanism via the Drell-Yan subprocess. We give also quantitatively the
analysis of the effects from both the mass of sneutrino and coupling strength
