Cross-curricular contents: Aggressive social aspirations during and after Margareth Thatcher's premiership

Este trabajo trata de analizar la representación cinematográfica de la situación psico-social de las clases trabajadoras del Reino Unido durante el gobierno de Margaret Thatcher (1979-1990). Se analiza brevemente el contexto histórico, centrándose en los aspectos sociales, económicos y políticos, y en los sucesos más relevantes que tuvieron lugar antes, durante y después de dicho gobierno, para así comprender las aspiraciones sociales agresivas que caracterizaron a la sociedad británica desde los 70 hasta los 80, y que se retratan en 3 películas diferentes: "Abigail's Party", "High Hopes" y "The Ploughman's Lunch".This paper attempts to look into the cinematic representation of the psychosocial situation of the working classes during the premiership of Margaret Thatcher as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (1979-1990). A brief historical and contextual background is provided, focusing on the most relevant social, economic and political aspects and events taking place before and during the time, so as to comprehend the aggressive social aspirations that characterized British citizenship from the 70s to the 80s, which are portrayed in three different movies, namely, 'Abigail’s Party' and 'High Hopes' by Mike Leigh, and 'The Ploughman’s Lunch' by Ian McEwan

Este documento pretende examinar tanto la representación cinematográfica de la situación psicosocial de las clases trabajadoras durante la legislatura de Margaret Thatcher como Primer Ministra del Reino Unido, como las consecuencias de su gobierno. Este análisis se centra en las películas "Bassed Off" y "The Full Monty", para reflejar la unidad del pueblo a través de la desesperación, así como la búsqueda de identidad, ambas comunes en la sociedad británica de los 90. La enseñanza de un período tan importante es esencial para promover una conciencia social e histórica en los alumnos, integrándolos en su aprendizaje.This paper aims to examine both the cinematic representation of the psychosocial situation of the working classes during the premiership of Margaret Thather as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, and its consequences in society. The analysis focuses on the movies ‘Brassed Off’ and ‘The Full Monty’ so as to reflect the unity through despair as well as the search for identity, which were common in the British society of the 90s. the teaching of such an important period in the world’s history is paramount to raise cultural and historical awareness among students, integrating it in their learning

Gender differences regarding ICT. Teachers' attitudes towards ICT

Dado que las TIC son extremadamente beneficiosas dentro y fuera del contexto escolar, y es escasa la información que existe sobre por qué las estudiantes tienden a estar por detrás de sus homólogos masculinos en cuanto a su uso, este artículo analiza el rol del profesorado de secundaria, quienes, en numerosas ocasiones, promueven y mantienen los estereotipos asociados a las diferencias de género, y cuyo comportamiento (consciente o inconscientemente) sitúa a las adolescentes en un segundo plano en cuanto a las TIC se refiere.Since ICT are extremely advantageous in and out of the school context and very little is known about the reasons why female students seem to be backward if compared with their male counterparts and missing many of these technological benefits; this review analyses what the scientific literature produces regarding the role of secondary teachers who, in many occasions, act as developers and maintainers of many of these gender differences and stereotypes, and whose behavior towards students –consciously or unconsciously- places girls in a second position when it comes to ICT

Analysis of the factors affecting the quality of English language teaching in 11th grade at Instituto Presbítero Bruno Martínez, in Mateare, Managua during the second semester of 2016

This research work investigates the factors affecting the quality of English language teaching in 11th grade of Presbítero Bruno Martínez in Mateare, Managua during the second semester in 2016. The authors observed three session of lessons and evaluated some parameters such as the teaching methodology the teacher uses, the learning environment, and the use of learning resources by the teacher. The age of the students in this study ranged between 16 and 19. A quantitative analysis was done tabulating the surveys that were applied to the students. Also, the researchers had an interview with the English teacher. All the information gathered from the students, from the teacher, and from the observations was contrasted with the observation and with the theory. The results of this study show that the quality of English language teaching is affected by the methodology the teacher selects for English lessons, the learning resources available, and the learning environment

Bacteriophages as an Up-and-Coming Alternative to the Use of Sulfur Dioxide in Winemaking

Certain acetic and lactic acid bacteria are major causes of quality defects in musts and wines, giving rise to defects such as a "vinegary," "sharp, like nail polish-remover" taste or preventing alcoholic and/or malolactic fermentation. Sulfur dioxide is the major tool currently used in the control of these bacteria in wine. The aim of this work was to isolate bacteriophages from musts and wine of different grape varieties that were able to eliminate lactic and acetic acid bacteria spoilages at the laboratory scale. Musts obtained from grape-berries of Vitis vinifera cv. Chardonnay and Moscatel and a red wine made with V. vinifera cv. Tintilla de Rota were used to isolate bacteriophages. Bacteriophages were obtained from each of the musts and the wine and belonged to the order Caudovirals and the family Tectivirals. They were isolated by classical virology methods and identified by electron microscopy. The host bacteria used in the study were lactic acid bacteria of the species Lactobacillus hilgardii, Lactobacillus plantarum, and Oenococcus oeni and the acetic bacteria Acetobacter aceti. A comparative study was performed by adding phage titrations and SO2 to musts and wines, which had been previously inoculated with bacteria, to study the effectiveness of bacteriophages against bacteria. The comparative study showed that some bacteriophages were as effective as sulfur dioxide at low concentration

Prevention and sensitiviy about gender violence

La violencia de género es un problema que radica en los valores y principios del patriarcado, que regía en la mayoría de sociedades hasta hace poco y que colocaba a la mujer en una posición social inferior a la del hombre, legitimando el uso de la violencia para garantizar el mantenimiento de esta jerarquía. Con la democracia, se produjo una quiebra en esta ideología, iniciándose la puesta en marcha de acciones encaminadas a la lucha para la erradicación de esta problemática. Cabe destacar la Ley Orgánica 1/2004, que introduce medidas para la detección y prevención de dicha violencia.Domestic violence is a problem that resides in the principles of patriarchy, which governed in most societies until recently, and which placed women in an inferior social position than that of men, legitimising the use of violence to guarantee the continuity of this hierarchy. With the arrival of democracy, this ideology was fractured, starting the launching of actions intended to eradicate these problems. The Oraganica Law 1/2004 must be emphasised, since it introduced varied measures for the detection and prevention of gender violence

Control interno y gestión tributaria en la Municipalidad Provincial de Alto Amazonas - 2021

La investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación entre el control interno y la gestión tributaria en la Municipalidad Provincial de Alto Amazonas - 2021. La investigación fue tipo básica, diseño no experimental, transversal y descriptivo correlacional. La población y muestra fue de 50 trabajadores. La técnica fue la encuesta y el instrumento el cuestionario. Los resultados determinaron que, el nivel de control interno es medio en 48 %, bajo en 30 % y alto en 22 %. El nivel de gestión tributaria es medio en 40 %, bajo en 38 % y alto en 22 %. Existe relación entre las dimensiones entre el control interno y la gestión tributaria, ya que el coeficiente de Rho de Spearman fue de 0.961, 0.964, 0.919, 0.958 y 0.958 (correlación positiva muy alta) y un p valor igual a 0,000 (p-valor ≤ 0.01) en todas las correlaciones. La conclusión a que se llegó fue: Si existe relación entre el control interno y la gestión tributaria, el coeficiente de Rho de Spearman fue de 0, 968 (correlación positiva muy alta) y un p valor igual a 0,000 (p-valor ≤ 0.01); resaltando que solo el 93.70 % del control interno influye en la gestión tributaria

Mano de obra by diamela eltit: bodies on stage, transpositions between literature and art

Mano de obra de Diamela Eltit (2002) es una novela que la crítica inscribió en el contexto del neoliberalismo y el mercado. Cabe preguntarse cuáles son los procedimientos narrativos que Eltit despliega en esta ficción cuyo contexto es distinto al de la “Escena de Avanzada” y en la que permanece el interés por pensar el carácter político de la literatura y el arte. La hipótesis preliminar es que la novela propone, desde una construcción enunciativa particular, una puesta en escena de los cuerpos que opera como modo de resistencia.Mano de obra (2002) is a novel that literary criticism inscribed in the context of neoliberalism and the market. We ask ourselves about the narrative devices present in the novel that invite us to think about the relationship between art, politics, and literature in the neoliberal context.
