One of the major challenges for learners and instructors is to find the way of improving reading comprehension achievements. Fortunately, cooperative learning is a method through which this can be implemented and improved, since it encourages students to work in small team groups with different level of ability, where they help each other, they are responsible for their learning as well as the teammates learning, and work on an assignment until all member successfully understand and complete it. Also, this method permit students to acquire more language and social skills that others whom studying the same content under individualistic classroom condition will never reach. Beside, it maximize opportunities for authentic and communicate language, it enriches the language, the interaction among companions and it increase opportunity to individualize instruction

Objective: The goal was to examine how a group of students from the Universidad Autónoma de Manizales saw political corruption and determine if they had a tendency to accept orreject it. Methodology: A typology of perceptions/ orientations was constructed based on the mostrelevant bibliography on the subject, which made it possible to characterize five types of perceptions/ orientations: cynical, conformist, fugitive, renovator, and rebel. In addition, criteria such as political effectiveness, interest in politics, affiliation with political groups, and exposure to various media were taken into consideration. Also, a survey was conducted for a display of 586 freshman students in the 2018 academic year. The SPSS programwas used to analyze the survey's responses, and through regressions, frequency analyses, and percentage calculations, a relationship between the responses and perceptions and orientations was established. Results: In contrast to popular belief, young people tend to be interested in political issues. They believe that even thoughthe corruption phenomenon makes them unpopular, things will get better from within their own environment. Conclusion: The young people in the exhibit oscillate between conformists and innovators; yet, the university should foster students' interest in political issues to foster discussion and the development of opinions basedon democratic principles.

Arbitrarily-primed PCR-based assays established the presence of sweetpotato intra-clonal genetic variability. These DNA polymorphism assays provided benchmark information regarding cultivar genetic uniformity in sweetpotato foundation seed programs. Arbitrarily-primed markers were also used to compare the genetic uniformity among sweetpotato clones derived conventionally, i.e., through adventitious sprouts, and nodally-based propagation systems. Initially, 38 primers generated 110 scorable DNA fragments using two virus-indexed plants from each clone source. Twenty-one bands (18.6%) were scored as putative polymorphic markers based on the presence or absence of amplified products. A subset of 14 marker loci generated by four selected primers was used to further assay 10 sample plants per clone group. Polymorphism ranged from 7.1% to 35.7% in five of eight clone groups. Field studies show variation in nearly all yield grades measured. In three tests during the 1991 and 1992 seasons, yield differences ranged from 27% to 46% within the economically important U.S. No. 1 root grade. The results suggest the usefulness of arbitrarily-primed markers in detecting intra-clonal genomic variability in the crop. To determine the role of propagation method in sweetpotato genotypic uniformity, a single sprout each of \u27Jewel,\u27 \u27Sumor,\u27 and L87-95 served as source of clonal plants simultaneously propagated through conventional adventitious procedures and an in vitro-based nodal technique. Fifteen arbitrary primers generated 64 scorable amplified fragments, 29 of which were putatively polymorphic across n = 60 samples (10 each of nodal and adventitiously derived plants/genotype). Within adventitiously derived materials, putative polymorphisms ranged from 4.7% to 31.3% depending upon genotypic class. In contrast, putative polymorphisms ranged from 0.0% to 3.1% among nodally-derived samples. The marker loci differentiated the genotypes and putative marker phenotype variants as revealed through multidimensional scaling analysis. An \u27analysis of molecular variance\u27 shows that genotypic effects accounted for 88.7% of the total marker variability, while propagation effects (within genotypic groups) accounted for 11.3%. The results suggest variability associated with propagation, wherein clonal plants derived from pre-existing meristematic regions are more genetically uniform than plants propagated from adventitious origins

Filipinos are all over the world, and a considerable number have been residing in Norway. However, most studies on Filipino immigrant parents place emphasis on the well-being of migrant children or have been situated in the United States. A study that fully intended to highlight parents in the process of shifting contexts was then found necessary. Upon an encounter with Filipino parents attending a Christian church in Norway, this study is aimed to determine the parenting beliefs, values and experiences of these parents and to analyze how particular parenting beliefs, values and experiences of four Filipino Christian parents interrelate. This study is a qualitative instrumental case study by design. To acquire data to answer three research questions, a group interview has been used. In addition, one-on-one interviews were conducted in order to acquire more detailed information on the parenting beliefs and values and to validate the data from the group interview. The results of this study showed the existence of eight major themes on parenting beliefs and values and four major themes on parenting experiences. There were also seven interrelations between these parenting beliefs, values and experiences. Lastly, this research established that the Filipino Christian parents in Norway manifest strengths not just as individuals, parents or migrants but also as a group. Placed together in a group, it was strongly evident that such a set-up allowed them to support, respect and help each other

The objective of this study is to identify the key drivers that explain labor informality in Colombia in the period from 2008 to 2017. A quantitative descriptive method was adopted to analyze data from the Great Integrated Household Survey (GEIH) conducted by the National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE) as well as several important sources in the literature. Drivers were classified into cyclic and acyclic, depending on their behavior with respect to the general economic cycle. The analysis revealed that Bogotá, Medellín, Manizales, Pereira, and Cali present the lowest rates of informal employment in the country (between 40% and 50%). Additionally, the most outstanding conclusion is that there is a linear or direct relationship between the length of unemployment and informality: the longer individuals are unemployed, the more likely they are to join the informal sector
