Botrylactone: new interest in an old moleculedreview of its absolute configuration and related compounds

The absolute configuration of botrylactone, a unique compound with an interesting polyketide lactone skeleton with two oxirane bridges previously isolated from Botrytis cinerea and described as a powerful antibiotic, has been reviewed on the basis of sign of the optical rotation, NOE experiments and NMR method. The isolation of 7-deoxybotrylactone and 5-hydroxy-7-(4-hydroxydec-2(3)-enoyl) botrylactone enables us to characterize an intriguing new family of compounds with this interesting polyketide skeleton. A common biosynthetic origin with botcinin derivatives is proposed

Plan de monitoreo del mantenimiento vial del transporte terrestre y prevención de accidentes en la carretera: Ayacucho - Abancay, 2012

El objetivo de la Investigación fue Determinar la relación que existe entre el Monitoreo del Mantenimiento Vial del Transporte Terrestre y Prevención de Accidentes en la carretera: Ayacucho-Abancay, 2012, en ella se procedió a evaluar La influencia positiva que tiene el Monitoreo para la existencia de una buena Prevención de accidentes de tránsito. Dicho estudio empleó el tipo de investigación Básica Descriptiva con un diseño No Experimental Transversal Correlacional. Se analizó a la población mediante las ocurrencias de los Accidentes Viales del Transporte Terrestre obtenidas en las Comisarías de la Policía Nacional del Perú (PNP), que en el año de estudio estaban distribuidas en las Direcciones de la PNP de los Departamentos de Ayacucho y Apurímac (Abancay). Los datos obtenidos fueron empleando las siguientes técnicas: Técnica basada en el Diligenciamiento del Formulario PCAT (Proyecto Comisarías: Accidentes de Tránsito), Técnica de la observación, Técnica del fichaje, La encuesta. Concluyendo que el Monitoreo del Mantenimiento Vial del Transporte Terrestre está relacionado directamente con la Prevención de Accidentes en la carretera: Ayacucho-Abancay, 2012

What is the sense of history?

En este texto se hace un repaso de la constitución de la historia y la historiografía y del planteamiento de algunos filósofos (de Voltaire a Fukuyama) sobre este proceso constitutivo. El hilo conductor que sigue el texto pretende dar respuesta a la pregunta: ¿cuál es el sentido de la historia? Hacia el final, el autor ensaya una respuesta a la pregunta planteada desde la perspectiva de los países periféricos.This article reviews the constitution of history and historiography and the approach of some philosophers (from Voltaire to Fukuyama) to this constitutive process. The thread that follows the text aims to answer the question: what is the meaning of history? Towards the end, the author rehearses an answer to the question posed from the perspective of the peripheral countries

First report of caprine abortions due to Chlamydia abortus in Argentina.

Infectious abortions of goats in Argentina are mainly associated with brucellosis and toxoplasmosis. In this paper, we describe an abortion outbreak in goats caused by Chlamydia abortus. Seventy out of 400 goats aborted. Placental smears stained with modified Ziehl-Neelsen stain showed many chlamydia-like bodies within trophoblasts. One stillborn fetus was necropsied and the placenta was examined. No gross lesions were seen in the fetus, but the inter-cotyledonary areas of the placenta were thickened and covered by fibrino-suppurative exudate. The most consistent microscopic finding was found in the placenta and consisted of fibrinoid necrotic vasculitis, with mixed inflammatory infiltration in the tunica media. Immunohistochemistry of the placenta was positive for Chlamydia spp. The results of polymerase chain reaction targeting 23S rRNA gene performed on placenta were positive for Chlamydia spp. An analysis of 417 amplified nucleotide sequences revealed 99% identity to those of C. abortus pm225 (GenBank AJ005617) and pm112 (GenBank AJ005613) isolates. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of abortion associated with C. abortus in Argentina
